  1. I reckon Ainsworth has his heart set on the Rovers job. He can probably sense Mowbray is coming to the end of his time here, so won't accept PNE until Rovers have appointed someone else. For me, it's between Hughes and Ainsworth and I find Hughes' comments about unfinished business very interesting. If I was a bookies I'd be offering HUGHES 5/2 AINSWORTH 4/1 NEILL 6/1
  2. Reckon you can do some digging and see if he fancies a summer move?
  3. I was told Eddie Howe was the one that had turned us down. We'd been in talks for weeks with him.
  4. Not since the days of Kean have I given less of a shit about our results. Imo Mowbray himself and only himself is turning the fanbase toxic. Until he has gone I am not spending another penny on this Club. If I lived closer I would be down at Brockhall protesting until he walks.
  5. Hughes would be my first choice. After that I'd be considering Silva, Jokanovic, Ainsworth, Davidson and Artell. This next appointment, I think, is the biggest one we have had to make since Kean leaving. Make the wrong choice and we could go into free fall.
  6. 2-0 Cardiff, can't think of a single positive that makes me think we'll get anything. They might get 2 red cards, there you go, that's how we get a point!
  7. Maybe the replacement has already been lined up for the summer and they are trying to get him in now.
  8. I would be giving Dan Pike a start and have Sam Burns in the squad too. No need to play Armstrong again this season. I'm not buying in to the injury that he supposedly has. I think he is being protected for a summer sale. Kaminski Pike Lenihan THB Douglas Travis Buckley Rothwell Elliott Dolan Brereton
  9. All this talk of keeping Mowbray so players sign contracts is rubbish. If he went and we brought in somebody that improved performances and ultimately results, would that not be more appealing to players and encourage them to stay??
  10. He would. Still not convinced he'll be here by the end of the week.
  11. I think we are waiting for Mowbray to go before anymore money is handed out.
  12. I fully expect Mowbray gone next week and Hughes back as manager. You can sense something is in the air and has been for a couple of weeks.
  13. I would have made Kipre priority number 1. If Big Sam brings a defender in then I hope we land him as well. For me Lenihan needs to know his place isn't guaranteed.b
  14. Composed is the word that strikes me most. Exactly what our defence has been missing all season. He'd be my first choice young centre half. I would also bring in Kipre too because I doubt we'll see much more of Ayala this season.
  15. I have already said I would love him to stay, but IF we had to sell one player that will make us money it'd be him over Armstrong, Dack, Travis or potentially Rothwell.
  16. Don't get me wrong I would love Nyambe to sign a new deal, but if there was gonna be one sellable asset that had to leave I would choose him. If his mind is already made up on leaving then so be it. I think, unless we make him one of the highest earners he'll go. Like I said I think Tony sees JRC as the future RB. As far as defenders go I think Ayala will prove to be a good signing. He looked class in the second half against Brentford and a real leader. It's becoming obvious he doesn't particularly play well with Darragh. So, as we know, this is gonna be a long season that will need rotation plus injuries and suspensions I can see him and Williams being a very strong partnership when Lenihan is unavailable.
  17. I personally expect the Venkys to have a real go in January as long as we are still within touch of the top 6. They will smell the financial benefits of getting promoted. I wouldn't be surprised to see them fund a couple of decent signings. I would imagine it would take a bid close to £25 million to tempt them to sell Arma, if that happens we can't ignore that sort of money. If that doesn't happen I would say we'll see about 3-5 million spent on incomings. I can see Nyambe leaving. I have a funny feeling Fulham may be the club too. I really hope this doesn't happen but if it does then I expect a quality right back to come in. As long as we can trigger clauses to extend Rothwell, Dack and Holtby's contracts I'll be happy. Financially selling Nyambe wouldn't be the end of the world. Out of all the sellable assets we have I'd choose him, as long as there is another right back in place. I still believe JRC is Tony's ideal wing back. I think he sees him as a TAA type player. After the last window, I have complete faith in Tony to get this right. As far as Kipre coming in, I wouldn't touch him. He made it quite clear he didn't want to be part of this project at the start of the season and I'd want somebody who will wear the shirt with pride. If we didn't sell or sign anyone I wouldn't be too bothered. Contracts are priority number 1 right now! The future is so bright at the moment and I trust Tony to keep it going!
