  1. I think Rovers are about to turn a corner. Hopefully Sparky will sort out our dreadfully inept defence into something that at least has shape, and can read the game - bring in Short and Todd. Our midfield isn't half bad and not the best forwards we've ever had, but not too bad. Look at Charlton. not individually a wonderful team but they are organised, they work the opposition and chase every ball and never give in. Teams have to work hard to get through the wall of Charlton players. And that what we need, organisation from the first attacker down to the last defender, so we stop conceding stupid sloppy goals. And make teams work to beat us. 8 - 0 Rovers - Friedel with a hatrick and Stead with 5 penalties
  2. Good signing, we need all the help we can get, and if he’s the man that we need to link midfield with the forwards, then I’m happy. In the last game midfield and attack were completely separate entities. Bit of much needed class and experience in my humble opinion.
  3. I couldn't agree more philpl I do believe that Emerton has all the tools in the locker - he just needs to remeber how to use 'em - once he does, he will emerge as our best player.
  4. I think a draw would’ve bee a fair result, however it wasn’t to be. I’m sick of all the doom and gloom – after the top 3 and L’pool and Newcastle, the rest of the teams in the Premiership are round about equal. Rovers will not get relegated, nor will we get into Europe. But talk of relegation is Barry ollocks. But I do believe Sparky will sort out the rot that had descended in Souey’s last 14 months. Sparky has a lot of work to do – but im sure he'll get the job done. Charlton are a tough team, they close everything down fast, get men behind the ball - the reason for this is because there is a distinct lack of talent in their team - so they operate as a tidy unit. We could learn a lesson or two off Charlton. PS - should've been a penalty - his arm came out form the side of his body to meet the ball.
  5. nah i dont reckon newell will have the know how or tools. I wouldn't min dspaky hughes at the healm. ps anyone else in oz sick to the back teeth of arsenal, chelsea, boro and newcastle being on foxtel every f***ing week?
  6. I'm not sure how much of a loss Saunders is? Has he definitely taken Mullary etc? It sounds ridiculous but i think Vialli would do a decent job.
  7. Not Sven either, he's already backed out of a deal with us in the past.
  8. Hitzfield Strachan In the name of all things holy not Hoddle, El Tel or George 'this money's for charity' Graham - I'd rather have Stevie Wonder than either of the previous 3
  9. Long time reader, first time writer. I have to agree with the majority of postings, after the initial shock had wore off I’m indifferent. I liked the fact he wore his heart on his sleeve, spoke his mind, and threatened Eddie Gray – but if you look past the exterior, there where shortcomings in his ability as a manger. However, he did do wonders for the club, promotion, worthy cup, 6th place. I think this move is mutually beneficial to both our beloved club, and Souey. I have to state, I haven’t seen much of our matches this season as I’m in Sydney – so I can’t comment on our progress this season. Souey, thanks for the colourful memories.
