  1. “ When you have the ball make the pitch as big as you can. When the opposition have the ball make it as small as you can.” It’s not exactly inventing the wheel is it. He’s only stumbled on playing with two wingers because Gally was injured. Normal service will be resumed as soon as he’s fit again !
  2. Well that’s made my weekend. When I saw the team I feared the worst. Good to see Brererton getting right in where it hurts. He wasn’t doing that before. Get in the box and the goals will come.
  3. Let’s hope we can keep the score to less than it was on Wednesday night !
  4. I wasn’t Robbie Savage’s biggest fan but could you see him putting up with that. I played with guys who would have had a word with the opposition at 4 or 5 nil. “ You’ve enjoyed yourselves today lads but enough is enough. The game’s over. Any more of it and somebody’s going off on a stretcher “.
  5. Yes, unfortunately that sounds like a man who knows he’s got things stitched up really nicely.
  6. I’d take Bertie Bassett, at least you could eat him if we lost 7-0 again.
  7. The fact that they can’t see what’s wrong with their attitude speaks volumes for the lack of winning mentality at Rovers.
  8. You deserve a medal Tony, you’ve put more effort in than any of those in a blue and white shirt !
  9. Butterworth has also had the best of treatment at the club whilst spending most of the last couple of years in the treatment room. Maybe he’s become Dack’s best mate. Both players need to apologise ASAP.
  10. I remember the dingles getting a similar dicking at home to somebody like Gillingham. Stan Ternent came on Radio Lancashire after the game and said “ There were players out there today who will never play for this club again. “ He actually named the players , and as far as I know they never did play again. The players need to know as far as the manager is concerned there are lines they do not cross. When Ternent was managing Burnley you could see that was the case, I don’t get that feeling with Mowbray.
  11. That’s been the problem all along - too many nice lads. We needed a couple of nasty bastards bringing in.
  12. It bears out the old saying - “ You can always tell a Yorkshireman, but you can’t tell him much “.
  13. I don’t think he’s the answer to the Newcastle situation. Having said that I couldn’t tell you who is that’s likely to go there.
  14. The way he allowed Wigan to walk away with the Championship told me all I needed to know. That and all the talk about bringing in new signings to “ help out “ the existing players. The guy has no ambition apart from drawing next months pay cheque. I’d have fired him then.
  15. That has been clear for years. They are the cancer in the body of Blackburn Rovers.
  16. Tonyoz usually does a review of individual performances. If he can steel himself to watch the game again it should be interesting.
  17. Let’s face it. It was like playing with ten men on occasions. I can’t recall a turn around like it in all the years I’ve been watching football.
  18. I’d fancy us to get a result with a full team but with Gallagher, Ayala and Nyambe missing it’s going to be a struggle.
  19. It was as a result of the Gilliver case that compulsory medical tests were brought in by the football league. We signed him from Huddersfield Town as a very promising centre forward in the 1960’s. Unbeknown to Rovers he had an existing disc problem. When the dust settled Huddersfield had to repay part of the fee we’d paid. At the time he was being treated by an osteopath/physio that I was a patient of about 15 years later. I understand he later underwent a “ disc fusion “ which limited his mobility. His time at Rovers wasn’t a success.
  20. Crap goal. I thought Gennoe should have done better there.
  21. I’d be very wary of signing anybody who’s had prolonged back trouble.
