I think it’s becoming clear that it wasn’t a happy camp at Ewood. For whatever reason, I don’t really know. Players who weren’t getting picked were never happy in the past, but with massive benches these days most players get some game time. I’ve seen enough relegation “ battles “ at Rovers to feel we were going down under JDT. Not much was working and the feeling of Rovers being a “ Zombie “ club had emerged again. The new guy may keep us up, he may not, but to judge him now after the really difficult start he’s had is ridiculous.
I say “ battles “ because we don’t do battles normally, we just go down.

The Walker Brothers - No Regrets
Mrs Shoelaces is a long time Scott Walker fan. She’s out in Cincinnati at the moment so she went on a pilgrimage to his old house on Wednesday !

Not really, tight trousers and very fine material probably.

It was a strange programme. At one point he had a “ mod-ish “ haircut and at another point he had flowing locks a la Tim Sherwood.
I used to get my suits made by “ Mr Senior “ in Rochdale. A great tailor. When the postcard dropped through the letter box telling me to go for another fitting my mum would go mad - “ not another bloody suit, I don’t know where you get your money from ! “ I always had two pairs of trousers made with the jackets, the lightweight cloth wore out between the legs easily. I’m not bragging.

The last time I saw Bradley Wiggins he was the very antithesis of what a Mod ought to look like.

He’s got a very nice line in suits. It reminded me of my hand made mohair suit days.

Not a gig as such but Bradley Wiggins has a programme about Mod culture on Sky Arts tonight at 10-30.
It was quite interesting examination of what it meant/means to be a Mod.He finished with a short interview with Paul Weller that got a bit sticky at times.

Pass of the night. He’s such a funny player Lukaku. Some games you don’t know he’s playing and some games he’s a real threat.

Looks like Rochdale have been rescued by a knight in shining armour. Local millionaire/billionaire Sir Peter Ogden is set to take over. Then we hear - “ Who’d be interested in Rovers ? “

Gilsenan is not a wide player. He might get a chance if Szmodic gets injured.
Neither was Siggy as far as I could see.

Did we sell Wharton for nothing ?
It certainly felt like it. Let’s see what he goes for when he leaves Palace.

Walker’s had a great career. He’s still as quick now as he was when he was younger. A very difficult opponent for any winger/wide player. I remember seeing him playing for Sheff Utd against the dingles at Wembley and thinking - “ that left back can play a bit “. That’s where he played that day. Best player on the pitch in that game.

Nah, solid colours. I don’t think they did a pin stripe mohair. I did have a really nice pin stripe blazer at the time though. It was a bit “ Small Faces “ style
