  1. people go on and on about stats nowadays, shots on goal, off target, offsides etcetc the ONLY stat worth a mention is the one that appears beside the two teams in tommorrows paper they are the goals
  2. jammy beggers!!!! naa well done, was it 442??? good to see manure in huffy mode, great result
  3. this 4 5 1 debate is something we have been having, tbh managers have seen chelsea play it last year and many have copied it (us included) i hate it!! souness has reverted back to a 442 or when all fit a 4132 with parker as a holding m/f Rovers are not good enough to play it, fact! this is no dig lads as we also are no where near good enough to play it also, if you had players like robben, duff, wright phillips, makale lamps etc it would work, but sadly the auld ruskie has snapped them up, anyhoooo dont be too downhearted we were outplayed and dare i say outclassed in the first half but if you dont take your chances.........imo i would play kuqi up top with bellend just off him, it would be better as we played him just off shearer, he is not a back to goal player, but have him running on the flick ons and you will see the benefit
  4. guys guys guys what can i say! do you want souness back? yeah you dominated but you have to take your chances, bear in mind that was our 7,8,9,10th choice midfielders, anyway i'll leave you for now, :-) btw great sendoff for shearer nice one:-)
  5. ahem do rovers have a trophy room or is it just that display case?? before you lot start the 'but its sooooo long ago' i know but read on chaps and chapesses toon Club Honours Football League Champions 1904-05; 1906-07; 1908-09; 1926-27 FA Premier League Runners-up 1996; 1997 FL Division One (Two) Champions 1993 FL Division Two Champions 1965 FL promotion to top division 1898; 1948; 1984; 1965; 1993 FA Cup Winners 1910v Barnsley, Crystal Palace & Goodison Park 1924v Aston Villa, Wembley Stadium 1932v Arsenal, Wembley Stadium 1951v Blackpool, Wembley Stadium 1952v Arsenal, Wembley Stadium 1955v Manchester City FA Cup Runners-up 1905v Aston Villa, Crystal Palace 1906v Everton, Crystal Palace 1908v Wolverhampton Wanderers, Crystal Palace 1911v Bradford City, Crystal Palace & Old Trafford 1974v Liverpool, Wembley Stadium 1998v Arsenal, Wembley Stadium 1999v Manchester United, Wembley Stadium Football League Cup Runners-Up 1976 v Manchester City, Wembley Stadium FA Charity Shield Winners 1909 v Northampton Town FA Charity Shield Runners-up 1932, 1951, 1952, 1955, 1996 European Fairs Cup Winners 1969 v Ujpesti Dosza, St James' Park & Ujpest ICFC/UEFA Cup entry 1968/69, 1969/70, 1970/71, 1977/78, 1994/95, 1996/97, 1999/00, 2003/04,2004/05 UEFA Champions League entry 1997/98 2002/2003 European Cup Winners Cup entry 1998/99 Texaco Cup Winners 1974; 1975 Anglo-Italian Cup Winners 1973 and rovers (stay with me this bit is not as long as the last bit ) CLUB HONOURS FA Premiership: Champions: 1994-95 Runners-up: 1993-94 Division One: Champions: 1911-12, 1913-14 Runners-up: 2000-01 Division Two: Champions: 1938-39 Runners-up: 1957-58 Play-Off Winners: 1991-92 Division Three: Champions: 1974-75 Runners-up: 1979-80 FA Cup: Winners: 1884, 1885, 1886, 1890, 1891, 1928 Runners-up: 1882, 1960 Football League Cup: Winners: 2002 Full Members Cup: Winners 1987 FA Youth Cup: Winners: 1959 Runners-up: 1998, 2000
  6. do you have a source for that my friend, because the fiver a head you yalk about is b o l l o x s funny how the crowd were all in one stand, hey we could ground share!! sell peewood park and hire 2/3 of the stand! BINGO lol i will keep an eye on this thread and the part where you have the toonhaaallls to say nobby is past it, sun week will be his debut and i for one cannot wait to see the blue and @#/? cry, sheeeeeeeeeeeeaaaarrers last game will be one hell of a match, and finally all joking and pee taking aside, i hope he gets a decent send off, because yes he may only EVER have won one medal, but..................... HE HAD TO WIN THE DAMN THING HIMSELF
  7. naa the board have been at the brunt of the unrest, but fatfred has pulled it out the hat this time, 95% of toon fans want souness to stay, its just the media manage to find the 5%
  8. how!! parker + emre = 2 = a couple!
  9. lets be honest here for once, this big club ###### is MEDIA fed, they say it not us, i'm on about signings, the words eggs in one basket springs to mind!! i'm not having a dig, but ?Sparky should have covered more options this close season, is Jansen getting a shot, gallacher, ? still better than us, we only have 1 striker in our squad for tomorrow!!! (Shearer) still its only the Hammers, not like they are good or owt!! **tin hat on** and yes i am prepared to eat my words tomorrow night if needed
  10. is that as funny as bellend being ruled out for 6 weeks my friend!! at least we signed a couple of extra midfielders, who do you have for fulham?? friggin kuqi!!! not a time for laughing cockle
  11. not come to gloat lads, shame he may miss the sept 18 game, thing with bellas is muscle injurys will be common as he is one fast s-o-b
  12. i think £15 for the adult ticket is a bit steep, should charge £5 adult and £1 kid, then for example a dad and his kid can go for £6 not £16, at the end of the day regardless of the opposition it is only a friendly, so get as many in as possible, just think if say 5000 people went yeaterday who have never been to a game, watch a 4-0 win over spanish opposition, if only half of these got 'bitten by the bug' that would stick 2500 on your gate week in week out, but as is football these days, its get as much dosh out the fans as possible
  13. what was the attendance?? we had a friendly yesterday and only got 6.500 mind you it was yeading!! and charged £5 for an adult
  14. great game, fantastic effort from the aussie tail, well played both teams
