  1. No. He had been dropped as a result of his poor form at Newcastle.
  2. Both Luton and Cockfosters will work but you're looking at up to 90 minutes travel in from there. If you use the M40 you could look at Hillingdon - it's right on the A40 just after passing the M25, has 280 spaces and you can get to Stamford Bridge in just over an hour. Ive never use dit but it looks a good bet. There will be other tube stations along that corridor you could use as well. As it's inside the M25 is your car OK to enter the ULEZ zone? If not it's a £12.50 fee.
  3. I think it's a bit more than a slight anomaly. We've scored 20 in 8 games but 12 of those were in two league cup games. So it's 8 in 6 league games, which is somewhat less impressive.
  4. I don't expect that the Met Office or any other weather forecaster, will get the forecast bang on. I do believe that the majority of the time the forecast will be broadly correct 24/48 hours ahead. It's been spot on here in Preston this morning.
  5. I don't know where the idea has come from that the weather is going to be terrible at Ewood tonight. There has certainly been a lot of rain and there is likely to be some more this afternoon but by 6pm the Met Office is forecasting sunshine with a 40% chance of a little light rain during the game.
  6. Are there any clues as to why Schumacher made 7 changes to the team who played on Saturday, including most of his forwards? They were by all accounts a bit unfortunate to lose at Preston.
  7. The thing that relaxes me is that in the end it didn't affect the result, apart from goal difference. Think how much more frustrating it would have been had Boro scored again. We will get crap decisions by referees again soon, both against us and for us. The real frustration is when that decision goes on to change the result of a game.
  8. Now second on goal difference with 3 wins out of 4. I’ll ask again to get the thread changed to Rovers Women?
  9. I think the linesman thought that Pickering's slide to try to intercept the cross, had played Crooks on. You can see that on the Sky highlights. Pickering clearly wasn't playing him on but you can see why the linesman was pointing to a player. At the time Crooks put the ball in Pickering's legs were level but nowhere near when the cross was played.
  10. I have just had the agreed minutes for Monday's Forum. I wasn't clear when I typed the above that this was going to get in them but it has: - ND asked about the decision to let John Buckley go out on loan to Sheffield Wednesday. GB replied that John had been keen to go out on loan to get more game time. He had fallen behind Jake Garrett in the manager’s view and that it was unanimous that the players development was the priority knowing the cover that the club had in this position.
  11. I have just received the approved minutes, so they should be on the website in the next day or two. Steve Waggott wasn't at the meeting. He has been on holiday and I think is back tomorrow. We did of course raise the issue of the Cardiff game (I think you might mean Blackburn End!) - everyone was unanimous in their opposition to the stand closure.
  12. Gregg came to the Fans Forum on Monday night. He spoke about the feeling that the squad had one too many midfielders in. Alongside that John Buckley had fallen down the pecking order a bit and was keen for a loan move to get some game time. So effectively I think it was a bit of both.
  13. There is a long-standing Academy and under 21s thread a bit further down the front page.
  14. I certainly remember seeing him play for Santos in a friendly against Sheffield Wednesday in the mid 70s. It was during the 3 day week and the game was played on a Wednesday afternoon - the ground was still full.
  15. I saw Tony Field play for 4 different clubs. I used to watch Southport play in the old 4th Division regularly on a Friday night with mates from school, and he stood out head and shoulders at that level. Than at Rovers. Then I went to university and watched him at Sheffield United. Finally my now wife and I went to see he brother in New York 8n the late 70s and saw him play for New York Cosmos. Pele was a team mate although I can’t remember whether he was playing in the game I saw.
  16. He was injured in the Walsall game and he hasn’t played since.
  17. They get younger every year unleaded........
  18. Firstly Farington is much much nearer the centre of Lancashire than Old Trafford, especially if you’re considering the old county boundaries that the county game is based on. In fact for quite a bit of old Lancashire Sedbergh is closer than Old Trafford. Secondly Farington won’t be much less convenient than Old Trafford for many in Lancashire to get to by public transport. The 111 bus runs from Preston to Leyland every 12 minutes passing Preston, Lostock and Leyland stations. I’m off to Old Trafford tomorrow for the Hampshire game and I will need a bus to Preston, train to Manchester and tram to Old Trafford to get there. I’m also about 2 miles from the new ground, on the 111 bus route!
  19. I think Coventry will give an away club up to 3,000 tickets. If that's true, you should be fine as we will not sell that many so they should go onto open sale. They will go on sale to ST holders first as Watford tickets are but will almost certainly be opened up later to anyone. Have you been to Ewood before? Are you on the club's database?
  20. Not a great start for the Yorkshire clubs in the Championship - 5 out of 6 in the bottom 6 with 2 points between them. And Sunderland are the other team down there.
