  1. It sure was. ‘The SAS’ became a phenomenon in those early months of 94/95, it is just probably slightly forgotten that Sutton started the season like a train and then the goals dried up in the second half of the season (now what modern parallels can we draw 🤔)
  2. In 94/95 he scored just two goals from late November until the end of the season. In 95/96 he scored zero (though missed a lot of games through injury). His goals started flowing again in 96/97 and 97/98 after Shearer left…
  3. Of course, a front two that will go down in history, but in reality the SAS was only really a thing for one season. And even in that fabled season Sutton lost form in the run-in.
  4. The new stadium is still in early stages of development and with all the Usmanov issues, who know when it will be completed. So a few more seasons at Woodison yet…
  5. A toggle through the seasons on here says there’s definitely something in the ‘Ayala Winter Break’ we were warned about… https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/daniel-ayala/leistungsdaten/spieler/78966/plus/0?saison=2015
  6. Hang on ,so there aren’t any ‘marginal gains’ to be had by moving 500 away fans from the lower tier to the upper?!
  7. Lost thousands more ST holders over the last couple of years, crowds have therefore stayed fairly low. The end.
  8. ‘Great appointment’, ‘fans are over the moon’, I was told when I doubted a man with an average record (at best) and zero experience of relegation battles was the right man for the job…
  9. Oh aye. I personally know a half dozen long term Rovers fans that now pitch up at Accy.
  10. Bring a friend for a standard game in March, in the middle of a horror run was never going to work. A bundle in one tier of one stand for consecutive Saturday’s would not get more than hundreds. This Final Five makes absolutely no sense, one of the five was covered already by a tenner ticket if you could co-ordinate with a ST holder and one is a night game that struggles for walk ons anyway, plus it works out at £24 a ticket in the JW! Much more expensive than a half ST and miles more so if you can’t make just one, which of course, plenty of floating fans won’t be able to make - that’s why they pick their games in the first place and don’t just buy a ST. It’s really very simple - sell a ST, a half ST, even a ‘Quarter ST’ to get as many as possible signed up for a potential renewal for next season. Then pick a game in the actual run in - I.e Stoke on Easter Monday or the final home game against Bournemouth and make it a tenner, anywhere in the ground - no strings. This isn’t hindsight as I said what would happen as soon as they went on sale. If I can see it on my zero pounds a year, why can’t highly paid executives use past evidence and act accordingly? *enter that overused Einstein quote here*.
  11. In NO1 they have encyclopaedic knowledge of Dingle FC alumni, literally anybody who has even played 5 minutes as a sub at T’turf, in say 2011, gets the treatment, most impressive…
  12. ‘So bring a friend’ failed… if only they’d tried it before so would know… oh they have!
  13. First 3pm Saturday at Ewood for three months… worked out well that splurge of Sky games 🤦‍♂️
  14. Do I think that some on here are a bit OTT re Mowbray? Yes. But it isn’t close to what that scumbag got on here and to say it’s ‘more hostile’ for TM on brfcs than what Ke*n copped is a ridiculous thing to say.
  15. Take some doing on this pitch. Terrible surface for Test Cricket… as was the one at Pakistan/Australia last week.
  16. Why is losing Nyambe for free not a big issue? But Travis would be? You’d be saying the exact opposite if the contract situations of those two players were reversed…
  17. There’s no point looking at the remaining contracted players and going ‘oh relegation battle next season’. Sure I heard the exact same thing last season. This is a division built on loans and a load more will come through our door. An academy grad might make a breakthrough like Wharton. So many variables and in such an even league we could finish anywhere.
  18. ‘ The officials have agreed there will be 4 minutes of added time’. Agreed with who? Mowbray? Balaji Rao? Fans near the dugout? Announcing (instead of just putting it on the scoreboard) not exactly bumper crowds to tee up away fans and ‘your support is f*cking shit!’. He somehow managed to speak throughout the minutes applause for Ukraine and Gordon Lee on Tuesday! Any ITK-ers give an insight into where this (obviously non local) fella has come from and what happened to the other bloke who’d been doing it for years until Christmas?
  19. Ha, no I was being facetious. ‘Field tilt average’ is something to do with minutes spent in the opposition half minus the defensive half. And guess what, City attack a lot! Sign me up Opta!
  20. Why are City do good? It’s because of their ‘field tilt average’, according to (you guessed it), James Gheerbrant in The Times. Who knew it was all due to a slanting pitch at the Etihad!
  21. If folk think it needs refreshing for next season, especially if we fall away over the next two months, fair enough. But ‘worst manager in the league’. Come off it. His record in this division with the budgets he’s had shows that isn’t remotely true and is an example to how some on here have lost all objectivity with TM, and I’ve no idea why he riles some of you to such a degree…
