  1. Absolutely right. 11,500 Rovers fans on yesterday is incredible given the last 7 years. Better not take any action or make any protests though because that would only make things worse wouldn't it? Been saying for years the club is set up to fail from the top down any coaches, managers and players that come in will never succeed until the ownership changes. Still a long way Rovers can fall. Local rivalries against AFC Fylde and Curzon Ashton await.
  2. Davies' company received an annual "loan arrangement fee" and a very decent interest rate on the loans to Burnden Leisure. And to say he doesn't need his money back! Well he has a net worth of £40M so would you want £150M back? He makes kettles FFS. Very grim times ahead at Bolton and at Rovers I think.
  3. I didn't see many of Comstives' games at Burnley etc obviously but I remember and saw all his games for Rovers and as a young player he was a strong lad with plenty of energy but maybe lacked pace and a first touch. He was only brought into the team when we were down to the (very) bare bones, the task later filled by Peter Devine, Tony Diamond and ultimately for Saxton by Paul McKinnon. But he showed enough in the reserves as I recall to interest other clubs (He must have made 100 or more appearances for the ressers). Made the most of the talents he had a had to make a career albeit in the lower leagues. Terrible news for his family. Hope Rovers mark this at the next game but Venkys not to got a good record on these things.
  4. A Keaning lot better than ours. Wolves fans probably don't think so right now but I'd swap their situation for ours at the drop of a hat.
  5. Bowyer will not be manager next season. Should he be? Well there are a lot of inferior options. The problem however does not lie with the manager but recruitment of players and lack of a back up team of quality coaches and medical staff. It's currently run like an actual pub team and I can see no sign of this being addressed.
  6. So Venkys are happy to trust: A slug A p!ssed up Scotsman A madman from a footballing desert A nobender A load of self interested wasters But not: Anyone from Blackburn or Rovers fans I hope the club eats all their money and they end up in a hovel like the rest of the punies.
  7. Shepstone scores! A crucial goal as well. Rovers v Boro
  8. Get to bed have a good sleep and look after your family for Christmas. You have done more than your fair share. I was first behind the JW today but sadly the stewards and cops can control even that.

You're a fair bit younger than me but I can tell you most of my best days following Rovers were outside the top division so don't get too down. Happy XMAS

  10. So within 12 months we have lost: Owners A Manager 2 Coaches A medical team A Chief Executive A Managing director Several other directors Several other club officials Accountants Kit Sponsors Kit man Several decent players 3000-4000 fans 8 league places Another coach Several million £s paid to agents The club must have been in some mess to need all this re-structuring. The sooner these cowboys disappear back to India the better...and take the scotch @#/? with them. Things will finally turn nasty on the terraces tomorrow.
  11. ...and I should have included the 3-2 win at Burnley on Boxing day 1976 and the 3-0 win at Oldham on Boxing Day 1980.
  12. I can only get it down 10.....Oh wait,11. 13. Chris Sulley has just started as Academy manager at Leeds United. Ian Miller is there also. And Larry of course.
  14. ""Villa scouts have looked at Rangers keeper Allan McGregor,28, as a possible replacement for Friedel."" Good luck with that one Gerald.
  15. The header in the last minute against Leeds (Part 6 I think) was one of tHe best headers and most satisfying goals I can remember. I will start on 92-93 next.
