Every cameo I’ve seen of him this season he looks knackered within 10 minutes of coming on! Something not quite right with him.

I thought it was one of the laziest performances from a Rovers player in a long time. Didn’t get out of a jog and stood still whilst Gallagher chased after everything even with 110 mins in his legs. Pathetic given the circumstances. Basically playing with 10 men. Happy to not see him play again this season if that’s how much effort he’ll put in.

He’s not a Premier League player unless we’re talking Norwich. He’s not consistent enough. Great one game, very quiet the next.

I agree, I don’t think he’ll attract PL interest. But with our current form, why would you leave for another Champ club? Only Fulham are in a stronger position and I can’t see them bothering. I think he’ll still be here come 01 Feb, unless someone offers stupid money (£10m plus) which isn’t happening.

  3. I’m not going to worry about this until it becomes clear that things are progressing.

I can’t see us selling to Bournemouth unless the money is silly and he is desperate to go. But I don’t see why Rothwell would commit to them given that they’re lower in the league than us! Hardly a massive selling point. He’ll be holding out for a PL move which is fair enough.

‘However, the Cherries haven’t reached anywhere near the valuation that Rovers have for the 27-year-old who has been a key performer this season.

Reports this morning have surfaced that Bournemouth have submitted a bid in excess of £2m for the midfielder but Rovers are holding firm.’

That reads to me that he could well go to our direct promotion rival in our biggest season for a decade, if the price is right, not ‘piss off, we aren’t selling to you lot of all clubs’…

How on earth have you read that from those comments? We’ve rejected the bid and the article says that we’re standing firm. How else can you interpret that??

Another huge game on Saturday, beat Luton (Bournemouth play Barnsley) then we have another game before Bournemouth as they are in cup action so would give us an opportunity to create some distance and put the pressure on them

Have to say, given our injury situation, being out of the cup is looking like more of  a bonus with each passing league game.

February is such a massive month. If we can hold Forest and WBA then I think we can really start to believe. Whatever happens from here, it’s been a phenomenal effort.

If you weren't in the stadium when Kean was in charge, Anderson "wasn't" running the club, stewards were treating season ticket holders like criminals, and the likes of John Williams and Tom Finn were marginalised and resigning, all whilst Venkys did absolutely nothing, you'll never know why it would take so much to forgive and forget. That night when we went down against Wigan was a very sad day for the club.

We were one of the best ran clubs in the entire country before Venkys came along.

We know, it’s not new information. No one is denying it happened or asking people to forget, it just doesn’t need repeating at every opportunity. And if my opinion needs qualifying, I’m old enough to remember all of the above as well.

    That lineup is a nightmare.

7 defensive outfield players and gally upfront.

Johnson who turns like a tank and Travis who won’t be match fit.

Do well to get a point here.

Just shows how awful our squad depth is.

To be fair, our best results have come from having 7 defensive players.

Having said that, we’re getting beaten tonight. I’m making my peace with it now. A point will be a bonus. I hate this sport.

I don’t think anyone is having a dig, or isn’t glad they support Rovers, but I don’t like being told to “get over it” by people who didn’t experience it.

Who is saying that? Has anyone on here told you to forget about it? The only comments I’ve seen are that we shouldn’t dredge it up all the time.

Dont know why age has come into it. I was 22 when Venky’s bought the club, does that count?

Nobody said we can change it - but that does not mean we should not speak of it again, dust in under the carpet. History is consistently getting rewritten re this lot. For the sake of balance, as we're constantly reminded, the Venkies are putting in theior money not out of kindess so much, but because they got themselves in this mess in the first place.

No one is suggesting that it should be forgotten about. There’s a middle ground where we understand the reasons behind where we are today but also realise that there’s little benefit in complaining about events which largely occurred over a decade ago and can’t be undone.

Trying to run the club in a financially sustainable way and cutting our cloth accordingly during this transfer window makes sense, regardless of what happened before.

I just don’t want people to keep (deliberately?) missing the point of why we are in this situation.

It reminds me of people that get sunburnt, then put aloe Vera on to remedy it, instead of putting sun tan lotion on first, to give themselves the best chance of not getting sunburnt in the first place….

So when you get sunburnt do you simply sit there for weeks on end and constantly remind yourself that you should have put sunscreen on in the first place. Or do you regret the situation but focus on what you can do about it?

We all know why we’re in this position and no one is disputing that. The fact is that we can’t undo the mistakes made 10 years ago and bringing it up now isn’t solving anything.

  11. Haven’t read any of the reaction on here but assume there was plenty of comments suggesting that this is the beginning of the end. A defeat is not a disaster provided we react against Boro which is now a huge game. Not going to throw the toys out just yet.

Regarding last night, it was a mess. Cannot understand why we persevered with Buckley and Rothwell in the middle until 70 mins when we were clearly missing a defensively minded midfielder.

There was no need to change the system to 5-2-3 but worse than that was that he didn’t change it after 25 mins when it was clearly not working.

That was Gallagher’s worst performance in a Rovers shirt. JRC was miles off it. Khadra looked a threat but decision making was poor. The rest were all below par at best. Think BBD going away for a week or two may do him some good.

The ref was appalling but when you’re relying of refereeing decisions to beat Hull, you know it’s not gone well. We deserved a point perhaps but didn’t play well enough to deserve much more.

First league defeat in months so need to put it in perspective but there needs to be an immediate response on Monday.

That could well be the case and would be acceptable to the supporters but, as I said why don't Rovers explain this rather than allow speculation. If there has been a contractual or financial reason just tell us.

I assume some of the details are sensitive and aren’t for Rovers to disclose.

Disappointing and echo the thoughts re promoting vaping products.

Find it amusing the amount of replies on Twitter asking whether the club will be giving out free replacement shirts with the new logo. Surely fans would rather have the more limited edition version??

Yeah been a poor run of games but luckily we only lost in the cup. Hopefully it's just a blip and things will click again.

Wouldn’t say it’s been a particularly poor run. Should have scored more against Barnsley, played fairly well against Huddersfield and looked comfortable against Cardiff even with 10 men. Wigan is the obvious outlier but we know why that went PEARS shaped.

  14. 6 minutes ago, Tyrone Shoelaces said:

I’m thrilled with the win and the three points but we need to be able to put two passes together again.  That was like one of the games in our death spirals apart from the result. We looked like we’d walked it to Cardiff.

But the result is far more important than the performance. You can’t say that this looks like a death spiral apart from the small difference that we’re winning all the time.

We have repeatedly shown that we can play better but today was another example of how difficult we are to beat which is a massive change to last season.

We barely strung 2 passes together. I get that we won and our form, but we cannot keep playing like this and relying on our defence. When Kaminski pulled up near the end, i nearly cried.

I don’t disagree re Kaminski but I think the last 2.5. months show that we can win games in different ways. We’re not going to win every game comprehensively but we look so hard to beat at the moment, we don’t need to be on fire up front to win.

These aren’t fluky wins against the run of play with last minute winners, these are deserved, hard fought wins against teams at the top and bottom of the league and both home and away. Let’s enjoy the ride.

Also, RoversTV. Shocking. A formal apology and refunds for all. Unacceptable.

There's clearly no ambition for the club to go up.  Just like we can't get players in early to give us the best possible chance.  The club is not geared to success.

Let's just hop the young lads some how pull it out the bag but I can only see a downward trajectory, starting tomorrow.

    Happy Friday everyone 😂

Mowbray isn’t saying anything particularly revealing. Clearly the financial situation is far more challenging than many fans want to believe and it’s lazy to simply label it as a lack of ambition.

It’s frustrating but I’ve simultaneously seen the same fans want the club to slash ticket prices, give the out of contract players any salary they want and expect the owners to spend big money in the window. At some point we have to look at running the club sustainability.

If we can keep the out of contract players and BBD during January then we have a chance. Hopefully we can add one or two but realistically that’s as good as it’ll get.
