  1. Anyone know the chant being sung against Newcastle to the tune of this:
  2. Would rather take Sam Gallagher on a permanent if possible. Younger. Proven in the division and if he does well, then a much higher sell on value. That seems to be the model we are deploying with our signings and he fits the bill.
  3. Nonsense. You do anything to win within the limits of the game. Sledging has been fantastic this series from both sides. If you don't like that part of the sport then Cricket isn't your game. Grow a pair and get on with it.
  4. I've enjoyed the entire series. I hope you have too. Broad off injured after a cracking delivery from Johnson. A lovely yorker. I said earlier on in the series that England's fielding has been poor. Prior again missed 2 easy stumping opportunities and Cook dropped a simple catch too. On the other hand, the Aussies have been brilliant on the field, an example being Johnson's catch in the first innings. I said England weren't great when they won 3-0 and criticised them a lot. However I was abused for winding people up. Aussies currently 167-1. Warner closing in on his century. England have been out-bowled, out-played, out-sledged. Utterly embarrassing and I personally feel sorry for those who will have saved up all year round to go watch that dribble. Australia on the other hand have been magnificent. A great bowling attack with Pattinson and Starc still to return from injury. The batting has finally come together and thoroughly deserve the lead. P.S. Warner has just got his century and just celebrated in Prior's face. Maybe Prior should concentrate on his own game before chirping away.
  5. Barring that catch on day one, Carberry has been the only one who can come out with a bit of dignity in this match. Root looks to be playing well and no doubt the talk of him coming in at 3 will disappear.
  6. Another self-inflicted wicket thrown away. Surely surely a team cannot become this bad overnight? Mitchell Johnson has been magnificent this series but some serious changes needed. No fight in the team apart from Bell. I'd like to think a lot are batting for their place and test careers. Especially Prior.
  7. First of all I would like to apologise to all for my perceived 'trolling'. No personal insults were meant and I hope you can all accept my apology. Moving on to the game. Probably one of the best fast bowling spell's I have seen in a very long time. Bell again continuing his very good display in the summer and showed that with a bit of patience, it was an easy pitch to bat on. Should he be batting at number 3? I personally thought that Root threw his wicket away today after looking relatively good in the opening exchanges of the day. Another very impressive factor for me was the Aussie fielding. A splendid catch in the last game from Bailey started the demise at the Gabba and another great one handed catch from Warner today played another crucial part in getting the wickets to fall. Tailenders look petrified of Johnson. I said in the summer England didn't look convincing and these 2 tests are proving that I was right. Who takes the blame? Cook? Flower? Or the individuals. Shame to see such a humiliating display as I was rather looking forward to another fiercely contested Ashes series. Personally would look to bring in Compton and Onions. Those two will definitely add another dimension to the England attack. Anderson's fitness looks poor but back to back Ashes series will have played a significant part in that. Finally, I would like to wish Jonathon Trott a very speedy recovery. Was a great shame in seeing Trescothick leave the international scene due to his battles and would be another great shame in watching Trott leave.
  8. That is your opinion. I am not here to wind anybody up. If you take a look back since Ste's warning to me, I have added nothing but cricketing debate on this thread and in return nothing but insults have been thrown my way. Not my fault you get wound up. That's your own issue, not mine.
  9. A million was a bit excessive, but here are just a few of the insults I've had thrown at me: "Give over you wind-up merchant". "Nothing apart from what I believe to be quite intentional racial tension Norbert." "You contribute nothing here you irritating little troll. Jog on you clown." "The guy is utterly obsessed. I know this is probably dangerous ground but considering the short shrift given to happyforeverclapper and saxoman on here in recent times, I can't help but wonder if the seemingly infinite patience afforded to BAWRs endless and constant bitterness towards English cricket has something to do with positive discrimination. Basically if he wasn't Indian would he have been banned months ago? but he likes being like a dog returning to his own vomit." "He's a glory hunting traitor, supports England national team at football as the Indian national team is guff." "Hypocrite." "You really are a brilliant advert for birth control." "Christ, you're as bad as Mercerman." "Those English fans'? What country were you born and raised in?? Traitor." "Why are you still posting in this thread you turncoat traitor???" "And here is the cretin who is the main reason I don't post much anymore. Biggest kean stirring idiot not only only on brfcs but also I'd wager the entire net." "What a pathetic sad little individual ." "Can the mods not ban this idiot again? I fail to see how he's any different at all to HappyForeverClapper. Both were banned for constant wumming, both have shown no change in approach whatsoever since their ban ended. HappyForeverClapper was immediately banned again. That's prejudiced, stupid wumming from a prejudiced stupid wum."
  10. As per usual, every post I make - a million insults before 1 sensible post (usually from Jim).
  11. Yes because wanting to know whether Finn, Tremlett or Rankin will be part of the Test squad come the 1st Ashes test, is racist? Another cracker from you Gord. Well done. Back on topic: Root failed again - barring that big score in the last test, does he really merit a place in the squad?
  12. Dear oh dear. Dreadful start to the Ashes your today. No wonder this thread hasn't moved. The England fans hiding after a dismal performance yesterday and the Aussies hiding after the mailing we gave them. Surely the likes of Finn, Rankin and Tremlett will be nowhere near the squad come the first Ashes test?
  13. Sorry what I meant the domestic league. Whether he had played the equivalent of England's County Cricket in Australia?
  14. Bailey has been fantastic in the ODI's against us. I believe his form prior to the series was great too. Not seen much of him in Test matches. Good enough? I find it bizarre sometimes how players can be great at ODI's but useless in Test matches. I'd put Ravi Bopara and even Suresh Raina in the same category. Both very good in ODI's but not really set the world alight in the Test format of the game.
  15. I have pointed out before that those Indian batsmen that did not walk have not gone to the press bragging about it like Broad has nor have the batsmen's teammates criticised others for not walking and then later on back their own player for walking (Swann). That is what has riled me because he has blatantly cheated and then to add insult to injury, he's out giving interviews about it and in a way he's proud that he cheated. No dignity and if that was an Indian player I'd expect him to apologise and dropped for 1 game to ensure he understands what he has done wrong.
  16. That's my point Jim. The incident had been and gone. Why has Broad now gone and bought up the incident again and actually boasting about the partnership he had at the time with Ian Bell. That is bang out of order and surely ruining the spirit of the game, don't you think?
  17. I try to have a rational discussion on here Jim, but unfortunately you're the only one who has a valid point to put across. If you're asking me, the likes of SKH have added nothing to the whole thread, instead just attack every post I make. Once again, I'll ask the question, are the England fans happy with Broad's decision not to walk? Additionally, are the England fans happy with the fact that he is giving interviews to the national media and not advocating his actions? Completely against the sportsmanship of the game. Cricket isn't meant to be played like this and certainly his actions are ridiculous off the field. If you have cheated, just hold your hands up and admit you made a mistake or alternatively, be quiet about it and let the fuss die down.
  18. I haven't riled anyone. I put my point across about Broad's latest interview. Do look at the replies thereafter and tell me if the rest are discussing or having a personal go at me. Maybe if the rest did actually discuss the situation then we could have a proper discussion as opposed to the insults being thrown around.
  19. Once again, I am just referring to an interview that I heard yesterday on BBC regarding Stuart Broad. I thought it was a point worth discussing hence why I bought it up. If I was bringing up the topic again for the sake of it then you have every right to be annoyed or whatever it is that you are, at me. However, highlighting an interview that was aired yesterday, I feel it was a point worth bringing up. No malice or harm intended.
  20. It was in reference to an interview that was aired yesterday on national radio. So I guess you could argue the same about the media. I just find it disgusting that a player that has cheated goes on to continuously talk and in a way brag about it. Really poor from Broad and something Cook or the ECB need to intervene on and stop him from spouting such rubbish. In reference to what you said Jim, no player goes on to give an interview in the smug way Broad has if they have nicked it and didn't walk. Broad is a cheat.
  21. I see Broad is not advocating his actions in his latest interview. What a joke he is. If you are going to cheat then don't go giving interviews after you have. Should be banned in my opinion. No room for scum like Broad. Ruining the whole spirit of the game.
  22. 5 star Hygeine. Voted best Indian in the NW by The Sunday Times. My work here is done.
