If only we’d hired more people who actually understand football, have a creditable reputation and experience level, and values their reputation in the game as opposed to their wallets, back in 2010…
Doesn't matter who we hire, how credible they are, if the actual stumbling block remains in place, then what's the point?

Not sure what to make of this appointment yet. I had never heard of Gregg Broughton and have only done some quick research but he doesn't get too many mentions in the on-line analysis/discussion of Bodo/Glimt's recent success. They have a DOF/head of sport called Aasmund Bjørkan and he seems to be the main spokesman and gets a lot of the credit. I could fully understand if we approached him
Broughton seemed to work with the very young players - as you would expect as he was head of the academy. Jumping from that role to DOF at Rovers is a big leap. Would we ever consider promoting Stuart Jones from his current role at rovers to be DOF?
I can't see Knutsen coming to work under someone who was a few steps below him in the pecking order at his previous club.
I really hope it goes well.
You just had to be that guy hey lol

Sam Gallagher for captain

This could work really well, if Broughton is allowed to do, what he needs to do. However, if Waggot and Venkys get in the way of his plans, then we will be back to square one. The key question is, will they allow him to get on with it.

Let's goooooooooo
Don't know Broughton, but let's gooooo. Lol

FFS
Identify x individuals for managers job
Check their credentials
Interview them once
Make selection
This isn't a damn corporate accounts job interview
It's unbelievable, how we have to do 2nd and 3rd interviews, and for what? If the managers we have identified are half decent, then there should be no reason why we need to re call them for more interviews. That is a sign of a club run by amateurs. Any manager like Farke or Carvahal, were probably gobsmacked that they have gone up against Duncan Ferguson, Bob the Builder etc, and asked to come back again to talk some more.

One thing I know is for certain in this messed-up affair.
When the new manager is announced, I (and probably a lot of you) will be completely underwhelmed.
Isn't that always the case with this clueless bunch?

Feck me, we are Blackburn Rovers, a club with great history, traditions and relative recent success (PL, League Cup, Europe qualification).
We don't want any more 'steady Eddies' with delusional journey plans in their heads, we don't want, IMO,'has beens' / 'never have beens' like Adkins / Graysons, we don't want, IMO, no hopers like Woodgate, we want someone who is going to ignite the passions of the club and its fans, someone with hunger, aggression and a will to simply win.
We may have to roll the dice, take a chance in order to give us some hope of a better, brighter and more exciting future. Surely that is better than continuing in the moribund state we find our beloved Rovers in.
I think one of the things lost to many of our fans, specifically the more younger ones, is that they feel as if we are just a small town club now, and that's it. Granted that we are in relation to the bigger clubs with bigger fan bases, but this club is steeped in history.
Who cares if we punched above our weight, who cares if we can't spend big money, this club shouldn't be settling for just anybody just because we are in the Championship. We are fucking Blackburn Rovers, former PL champions. The mindset of these wankers ie Venkys and Waggot, makes us believe that we should accept mediocrity every year. We shouldn't.
Do we have zero ambition anymore? Have we accepted our position, as a Championship club forever? Fuck Venkys, Fuck Waggot.. any half arsed owner would have had us promoted by now.

So Ancelotti wanted Ferguson to follow him to Real Madrid but Duncan wanted to stay loyal to Everton. He will ditch Everton though to come to Ewood ! You couldn’t make it up
Yeh that bit didn't make sense to me either lol

I don’t want to look for it in the preceding 255 pages, but somebody said our manager will be named on June 6.
So, hopefully, Monday is D-Day.

After Farke... Billic & Jokanovic would be next favs (I would like a foreign chap!)
Maybe Jon Dahl Tommason as an outsider.
I know I'm just torturing myself with wishful thinking though.

The Goalie Host, Brad Friedel ☺️ I do wonder if he's the guy lined up as Sporting Director. Nixon is adamant that it's all but official (not Friedel, namely, but the Sporting Director). I did hear yesterday from a third party that we're getting somebody in with a former affiliation with the club. So many mixed messages and hearsay, but it would be great to have two talented Brads at the club.

I heard on good authority that during his time working with the youths, he was sacked and he went running to India and was reinstated! He is unsackable.
So Steve Kean?

What chance has this club got when the one unsackable staff member is Pongo Lowe. Only the desperate and cheap will rock up while he is literally stinking the place out, he is the cockroach that survives the apocalypse.
What a clusterfuck......
Steve Kean all over again?

I firmly believe that one day this club will end up with local owners supported by fan involvement at the top table, until then we have to suffer this orchestrated decline and continued dumbing down at all levels.
The reason I mentioned this is because I believe Ainsworth would be perfect to come in when that day comes, right now he’ll achieve nothing, he’ll soil his reputation, never to return.
The next appointment is now irrelevant for me after our ambition has been exposed, cheap and cheerful yes man incoming.
Venkys Out is the only way this football club moves forward.
I think once we hit the levels of Bolton, and some other clubs that have been financially rocked, then we can rebuild. I was thinking the other day, maybe our only hope is going into adminstration, and finding a clued up set of owners or owner.
I know, it's not something we want to see happen, but I don't think we can continue to carry on with Venkys, irrespective whether they are paying the bills, pumping in money left right and centre. I think the fact that they believe they are doing us a favour, is somehow complicating matters more and more. Uncle Jack never allowed himself to get in the way of management and the players, except to make things as easy and comfortable for everybody around the club.
There is just this uneasy, amateurish behaviour across the club at the top level, where it's now basically nothing more than a joke. I'm surprised anybody is interested in managing this club, except for financial gains for a few years. The manager we bring in, will he care about results, will he care about the fans? Something has to give again, because I really can't see how this is going to end well.

Hats off to QPR and PNE in taking a risk by appointing younger, up and coming managers.
There'll be a buzz around PNE this season. 10k sold, and in Ryan Lowe, a manager to get behind.
Benni is young and charismatic

I’m genuinely gobsmacked why any Rovers fan would consider Pardew as anything other than a Kean-level disaster.
Horrible man, horrendous manager.
We complained about old boring Mowbray, but fans want Pardew 🤣

Benni would surprise all of you if should be appointed manager. Wouldn't be as dull and boring as Mowbray, and he ain't afraid at having a go at everybody including the officials 🤣
At least we will have a season of pure entertainment
