If only we’d hired more people who actually understand football, have a creditable reputation and experience level, and values their reputation in the game as opposed to their wallets, back in 2010…

Doesn't matter who we hire, how credible they are, if the actual stumbling block remains in place, then what's the point?

Not sure what to make of this appointment yet. I had never heard of Gregg Broughton and have only done some quick research but he doesn't get too many mentions in the on-line analysis/discussion of Bodo/Glimt's recent success. They have a DOF/head of sport called Aasmund Bjørkan and he seems to be the main spokesman and gets a lot of the credit. I could fully understand if we approached him

Broughton seemed to work with the very young players - as you would expect as he was head of the academy. Jumping from that role to DOF at Rovers is a big leap. Would we ever consider promoting Stuart Jones from his current role at rovers to be DOF?

I can't see Knutsen coming to work under someone who was a few steps below him in the pecking order at his previous club.

I really hope it goes well.

You just had to be that guy hey lol

The Goalie Host, Brad Friedel ☺️ I do wonder if he's the guy lined up as Sporting Director. Nixon is adamant that it's all but official (not Friedel, namely, but the Sporting Director). I did hear yesterday from a third party that we're getting somebody in with a former affiliation with the club. So many mixed messages and hearsay, but it would be great to have two talented Brads at the club.

I firmly believe that one day this club will end up with local owners supported by fan involvement at the top table, until then we have to suffer this orchestrated decline and continued dumbing down at all levels.

The reason I mentioned this is because I believe Ainsworth would be perfect to come in when that day comes, right now he’ll achieve nothing, he’ll soil his reputation, never to return.

The next appointment is now irrelevant for me after our ambition has been exposed, cheap and cheerful yes man incoming.

Venkys Out is the only way this football club moves forward.

I think once we hit the levels of Bolton, and some other clubs that have been financially rocked, then we can rebuild. I was thinking the other day, maybe our only hope is going into adminstration, and finding a clued up set of owners or owner.

I know, it's not something we want to see happen, but I don't think we can continue to carry on with Venkys, irrespective whether they are paying the bills, pumping in money left right and centre. I think the fact that they believe they are doing us a favour, is somehow complicating matters more and more. Uncle Jack never allowed himself to get in the way of management and the players, except to make things as easy and comfortable for everybody around the club.

There is just this uneasy, amateurish behaviour across the club at the top level, where it's now basically nothing more than a joke. I'm surprised anybody is interested in managing this club, except for financial gains for a few years. The manager we bring in, will he care about results, will he care about the fans? Something has to give again, because I really can't see how this is going to end well.
