  1. I think fans should pay more attention to Pears in goal. Goalkeepers are never on their heels that much, and the good keepers are vocal and commanding, especially in their area. In saying that, under a guy like Sparky, one of our players would have taken one for the team in that situation. The play was far from goal, and they had so many touches leading up to the goals, that back when we were playing, we would foul one of them and break the play, and the re organise.. I know we down to 10 men, but we could have fouled out there.
  2. Sticking to my guns here re Pears.. I have nothing against him as a person, but as a player, he is nothing but a capable backup goalkeeper.. if anybody thinks he is a number 1, then have your heads checked Yes, the defence could have handled both goals better, but that doesn't mean that Pears couldn't have done better. Both he was again rooted to the spot, where a goalkeeper would be alot more commanding. Rather come out, and get beat, than standing in the middle of nowhere and allow the attacker an easy choice of where to put the ball. As a goalkeeper, you make it as difficult for the attacking player as you can. Remember this guys, having a competent goalkeeper, could save you plenty of points. Having a poor defense and a sub standard goalkeeper, isnt what we need right now. Either we fix the defensive lapses, or we see what Wahlstedt or another keeper can do.
  3. he could have dealt with both goals better. Both times he could see the play happen before it happened. The ball coming through, he should have just come out, spread himself and make the goal big for Connolly, Instead, he sat back in the middle of the box, in no mans land, on his heels and at that moment its too easy to score. The other goal, blimey, the ball comes into the area again, as a keeper just come out and punch the ball, or just come out and clear everybody in your way.
  4. typical of us. Keep them out all game, score to go 1 up, and now will probably lose 2-1
  5. sorry Gally for all the filthy words i said about you
  6. Our defense aint that bad all things considering, BUT, we really need to find some attacking threats, because its becoming silly now to expect us to keep hoping we can contain the opposition. Something is going to give soon, either JDT walks, Broughton Walks, or we sign some players.
  7. poor team selection, but its also an indication how lack of investment is going to hurt us this season
  8. one doesnt know what to do when he has the ball, the other one runs up and down the pitch without the ball 😂
  9. I'd like Waggot out, but that's not going to happen either
  10. Read what i said earlier... IF we were to make Pears no 1, we could have gone out and found a 30 something year old experienced back up keeper somewhere. But we dont have much money, to spend a mill on a Swedish International back up keeper lol
  11. especially for a keeper who has already earned a full Swedish cap
  12. Let me put it to you this way, i dont believe Pears is a number 1 keeper. The good keepers are commanding inside their area, they are vocal and they have character. Whilst i agree that Leopold should be given time, my point still stands, that its money that we could have used on a striker, if the whole idea was to have Pears as the number custodian.
  13. I get what you're saying, but we nearly spent a mill on Leo, to only have him on the bench? If we had Pears to be the number 1, so be it, but then either let one of the U/21 keepers be back up, or get a loan for a reserve keeper. That money could have been useful towards an area of need or towards a striker. Also, if i was Leopold and i gave up at least a minimum of 6 matches of Champions League Football, to come and sit on the bench in the championship, i would be seriously pissed off
  14. Tomorrow at 11:05am "sorry sir, we're sold out" 🤪
