  1. I am really interested in going and was looking for help and adivce from experienced 'world-cup ites' that could pass on some knowledge, on everything from getting England tickets to travelling and accomodation.
  2. Do the club really expect supporters to stump up this kind of cash for a cup replay that will most likely be on the box and in any case comes after a lot of games in a short space of time! Absolute disgrace! On a side issue there is a discount for adults but none for students, just because I've gone to university does it no longer matter that I've had a season ticket for the past 15 seasons?!?
  3. While all the national press are saying that Blackburn itself is a mile or two further away from Birmingham what they fail to mention is that to live outside Birmingham and to commute to the training ground would take a fair amount of time, whereas Savage could easily live in Bolton, Manchester or Liverpool etc.. as many Rovers players do and easily make it to training, thus that is how he would be nearer to his family. Depending on how much money we have to spend overall (as I wouldn't want to spent our whole budget on him) £2.5mil does not sound too bad a deal, although his value is only going to decrease as he is 30, surely this has to be taken into consideration.
  4. Sadly didnt get these when they came out would like a copy of both of them please.
  5. Super Atko, never got the praise he deserved, always a consistent performer, always gave his all for the cause, what more could you ask?
  6. That looks so much like someone off this site its unbelievable. Surly its Glenn revidge?
  7. he had been getting rave reviews last time I checked, his level I feel.
  8. and before he says it I 'look' like any of the following: &/or
  9. Chris Price played there aswell as full-back.
  10. I do believe Ferguson improves the side as I said, however I am also saying that for £7million we could have improved it alot more than what buying him has done. Yes Nicky Butt is a different player but still does as much as Ferguson, Murphy cost £3, we COULD HAVE (like you could have paid more attention in school) had him and Butt for £5million and had £2million spare, that not sound better? Sam Allerdyce would have brought in at least 5 players that would have improved the side for that money. I know we could not sign a 'world beater' and certainly not for only £7million pounds, however the point I am making is that for us to justify spending that kind of money he should be a 'world beater' because we have alot of positions which need improving and spending all that money on one player when we could have improved several areas seems rather niave, thats all.
  11. I have no arguments with what you are saying alan, I understand he is not back to his best yet however the points I am making are: A: He is/was not worth £7million, we cannot afford to spend that on a player unless he is a world beater. B: I dont feel he is going to be the player we all hoped, even in those four games last season, he was playing better than he had done, but he wasn't playing exceptionally, he wasn't doing what he had been billed to do, he was simply playing some sideways passes, keeping possession (ala tugay) and scored a goal against brum. He was not however running the midfield. Surely you must all agree that for £7million we could have improved the side alot more than buying a midfielder who is good but nothing extraordinary.
  12. I acknowledge he is good going forward, but where was he when Hendrie, De la Cruz, Solano, Barry, McCann where walking through our midfield, Villa had men over all the time, fair enough Tugay wasn't following his man but this is just an example, I fail to see how he dominate's midfield, he rarely makes challenges, Flitcroft was the first midfielder to put his foot in yesterday, and he isnt good enough. I am not argueing Ferguson is a good player, what I am saying is he is not the magnificant player some people bill him up to be, he may yet develop into this and I hope he does but he is not 'everywhere' as a keane, gerrard, vieira, would be. Manchester Blue, Nicky Butt is at least as good as Ferguson, he only cost £2million!!
  13. If we can get enough money to get replacements please sell: Neill, Amoruso, Johansson (i've tried to support him, mainly on the basis of man u away a couple of seasons ago and man city away last season but i think its too late), Reid, Flitty, Tugay. If they are not going to play surely Gresko and Douglas (4 YEAR contract, why??) and any others in the same situation should be given the boot. And although he played ok yesterday (not magnificant as many people have said) Ferguson, I too hope the game against Brum away last season was NOT the peak of his Rovers career and would love to see him make a quality player, however i fail to see the £7million worth of quality and fail to see him dominate games in the way that Vieira or Keane may do such as we were promised, instead a see a younger Tugay, who is neat and tidy but not a complete midfielder.
  14. Surely we are for sale but that is nothing new, if the club felt someone with the club's interests at heart came in with money that would help the club they would stand by i am sure of this. So in effect this is nothing new.
  15. I was actually thinking that "sparky hughes' blue and white army" was a bit better than "mark hughes' blue and white army"
  16. You can charge away fans up to and including the highest priced ticket for a home fan, that is anywhere in the ground.
  17. Matteo is poor, poor at heading when the ball is played anyway other than straight and long and he gets turned so easily it is untrue, turned inside out by a centre-half yesterday!
  18. This might upset a few people but he has a lot to prove yet to me, he was poor at the beginning of his career and had just put together 3/4 good games, the highlight being Birmingham away (i was there and he was magnificant) however he has not done it long enough yet and his form has not been that good so far, yes I know he's recovering from a bad injury but I am just stating the facts. It is not so much that he has played poorly in his time here, more that he has disappointed me with the type of player he is, once Souness said he could be our Roy Keane or Vieira I thought although not in that class yet he would be in a similar mould, however all he has shown so far and in his international matches that I have seen him in, is that he is neat and tidy, rarely gives posession away but is not an all action midfielder. Unless he can become the player he promised to become in those four games, then I would not be too disappointed should we recieve our money back from newcastle and find an adequate replacement, in my eyes so far, Butt for £2.5 and Murphey for £3?? would have given us a far better midfield with money left over, just a thought.

"best squad since I've been here" - just one example of 'talking b******s with Greame Souness' as I preferred to call his interviews recently.
  20. Could we tempt big Sam?? although doubt it would happen due to rovers and bolton not seeing eye to eye at that level.
  21. hahaha look at this poll, the goerdies certainly know their stuff!!! POLL LINK LOOK AT THE GUYS PICTURE (the first one to post hahaha)
  22. Can't help but feel we have got a great deal here, we have got compo for a manager that had lost the plot, constantly coming out and contradicting himself, he was becoming a joke. He has fallen out with too many people and it had started to cost us when we couldn't replace them, rikko be prepared to lose, Dyer, Bellamy, etc...
  23. Well looking at Parkes' record when he takes over the reigns, he sually brings a few people in from the cold with something to prove so I fully expect Flitty to start and Todd, Janny and Douglas all to be at least in the squad, shame we couldn't bring back a "peed off by Souness X1" Filan Curtis Berg Todd Mahon Gillespie Flitty Dunn Yorke Cole Jansen anyway I think that we will go there and win now we have something to prove. Newcastle 1-3 Rovers, sparking a parkes for the job campaign
