was listening to the legends on century for 10 mins tonight, they said the dirty tactics have already started with england no longer getting room service and alarms going off this morning!!
we have as good a chance as anyone, we knew that much already, that as long as our top players perform we have a chance, as yet, neither beckham nor owen two of our so called world class players have performed to their standards and we're still in the quarters, if them two can turn it on, then why not all the way!
VERY warm, we did ok, didn't have a proper keeper until seond half, it was already 3 i think by then. Good day despite the result, and I managed to get a goal, so all was not lost.
reading this the deal is far from done, to quote the article "Dickov now JUST has to agree personal terms, that might not be as easy as they make it out to be, he rejected a "significantly improved" offer from Leicester, so I guess it'll all depend if we value him the same as they did.
Rovers fans will LOVE Paul Dickov, there is no doubt about that in my mind, so he's not a big name signing, was Stead? he will give his all every game, thats what we all want isn't it??
In my opinion there's two ways at looking at the reasons why he has signed and what reflection this has on our club one is naturally positive while the other negative:
A: he's chosen us over 8 other premiership club because he feels we are the best.
B: he feels that our competition for places is not as strong as the others and he'll play more football with us.
I know that Rovers have to play Great Harwood Town in a pre-season friendly as part of the Matt Derbyshrie deal, this has to include Matt, and at least 5 first team players from Rovers.
anyone else notice Andy Cole took several lingering looks around the place before departing the pitch only to turn around and applaud the fans, not what we usually expect from Cole, he isn't really one to milk the applause (i.e. tugay) can't help but link this with both quotes from himself and souness, hope he doesn't he's been top drawer throughout his time with us and has to take alot of the credit for Stead's success as he has set-up a few of them and has generally created alot of space for Stead.
