Having helped Ukrainian refugee families escape from Z, yes I am sensitive.

We have just signed a player because of the Ruzzian War. Were we to try to sign anyone of Ukrainian heritage, they would have a very big issue with that shirt.

It is beyond stupid crazy to have that design feature.

You do know the design is the steelwork around the ground??

Just quoting the forum where it was said that the sponsor is close to being finalised. At no point was it stated it would be a new one.

Based on rumoured information about the new home shirt @brfccody has mocked this up…

    thoughts everyone?

Behave, we run out *every* season.

And no other club ran out last, I know you are Swag’s knight in shining armour on here, but there is no defending his piss poor commercial operation.

Absolutely not, we do not fully run out and don’t run out as early as we did. The days when we used to sell everything for £5 because we had so much kit left will have been a financial nightmare. We have literally created a supply and demand issue, people will buy them early this season and maybe then we can keep increasing the kit quantities. If only we could do this with the tickets!

I'm of the opinion that Vaping will eventually be found to be even worse than smoking.

Quite possibly, however, Totally Wicked are one of the few ‘responsible’ vaping companies. They work with health institutions to make their products a safer alternative to smoking and are actually recommended in the way e-cigs were to reduce smoking harm.

Whether you believe that is safe or not is one argument, health institutions work with Totally Wicked to be as safe as possible.
Some will feel they’re the ‘good guys’ in that world and that’s the view Rovers have. Others will see them as part of the wider, poorly regulated industry. Fortunately I’ve never smoked and have no interest, I don’t think the logo on our shirt would’ve made me want to either but I’ll never know. McEwans Lager was always the one I wanted to order my Dad (I wasn’t old enough) but I’ve never bought a Time computer, insurance from HSA or CIS either.

I have explained two ways of addressing the 'FFP problem' which are more reliable steps than hoping to sell players - increase revenues through commercial income. Two fundamental steps to doing this are increasing sponsorship income and increasing shirt sales.

We've totally failed on that front. No shirts available to buy from November onwards would be laughable if it wasn't the same club bemoaning income limitations.

You're right. Just because I can't name a company definitely interested in sponsoring Rovers' shirts means there is absolutely nobody in the world who would do it. We've scoured the globe and it just so happens the best option is one up the road already in Waggott's contact list.

Same argument about alternative owners to the wretched Venkys. Try to convince yourselves that there is no other option but the one we have. It might make you feel better but there is a big world out there.

The club ordered the same amount of shirts last season as they have for previous seasons, which haven’t sold out.

That tells us the majority of fans are at the very least, willing to overlook the sponsorship.

They club have responded, in the short term, to selling out in by enquiring about more stock, that wasn’t realistic.

They’ve responded this time by increasing their contracted order which is a risk to them given it is only last season out of the past number of seasons that sold out.

It is also worth noting that the club have acted to prevent another scenario like the Suez Canal one. It is also in response to fans who, rightly so, wanted kits available pre holiday. They now fly in, at extra cost, the first team kit and fill their container allowance with stock to sell to fans. This is whilst the rest of the stock is simultaneously shipped over.

Fourth most expensive tickets in the league. Failed on the STs sold target. Missed the top six because of goal difference after three failed signings in January. Three of our best players leave on a free. Club openly discussing having no transfer budget. Our homegrown talent linked with moves away. The first manager in years with proper credibility in the game under constant speculation about his future. The stadium looks like it could fall down in places.

To be fair, we’re due Waggott convincing a well meaning fan to tell everyone about all the good things just around the corner.

They aren’t 4th most expensive. There are so many things wrong with the list that 2nd tier pod out out. A quick glance at the comments underneath it tell you that!

  7. So on season tickets, the club say there has been year on year growth since they’ve been in post. Last season they had the highest number of ST since relegated from PL and most income from their sales.

When they have done match ticket promotions (£10/£15) the attendence hasn’t increased enough to cover the cost of what they’re ‘losing’ out on having it at £20/£25 and therefore it’s a massive risk for them to drop STs significantly as the proof that price sigjificantly increases attendence isn’t there. Everyone says “I’d go if it was half price” but then when it is “well it was a Tuesday”, “it was on tv”. If you want to make a case for them being half price and we’d double the attendance, when they do a half price offer next season, make sure the attendance is doubled!!

That said STs have been reduced, mine by £20 and if you renewed after the early bird last season then you’ve had a chance to renew at a saving of £50 this year. They’ve also listened and got them out early, they’ve given 2 pay days like we asked and there is the option of paying over 10 months. I’d say they’ve done quite a bit this year to be fair. As the man overseeing the budget, if Waggott halves the ticket prices he would have to double the income. Would we get 14,000 ST? We barely got that when tickets were slashed for certain games last season.

My season ticket has cost me £16.50 a game, I’d say that’s a good deal. What I massively disagreed with was the idea they go up if we do. I think  that is a bonkers decision as the money we get from the PL should be used to trial a reduced ST price. The counter argument will be though, let’s say they halved them in the PL, are those fans are only getting STs because we’re in the Prem and it’s also a hard sell to put prices back up when you’re back in the Champ. Imagine the backlash then “oh we’ve gone down and now they want double the price for tickets”. We’d then be left with half the income we are now from them.

Are we sure that the odds on Ferguson / Unsworth shortening are not down to the rumours about Walsh coming in and Farke officially being ruled out? Something doesn't add up. All signs pointed to a DoF not being linked to the manager search, both in club statements and a headhunting agency being used for the DoF.

Walsh doesn't automatically suggest Ferguson to me. What it does suggest is that Waggot and Suhail are struggling and have missed out on their top targets. All communications suggested the DoF would come in after a managerial appointment, and now the DoF is starting next week. That seemed down to design and not the availability of candidates. I think they're desperate for some help, and it wouldn't surprise me to see a few new names plucked out the hat as a result now that there could be new input into the managerial search. I'm hoping this 'bank holiday' shut down has been to allow the DoF to get set up, Monday he'll be unveiled and first thing on the agenda is discussing where we're up to in the interview process.

We have no idea. Walsh may not be a fan of Ferguson or Unsworth. He's got a good track record in the game, so I'm willing to give Walsh a show of faith rather than assuming it's "jobs for the boys." If Ferguson does come in, my hope would be that our new DoF who's worked his way up in the game is able to give a glowing endorsement, having worked with him first hand. That would make me more comfortable with Ferguson as a manager.

The big thing this club has been missing over the years is footballing knowledge at Ewood that isn't strategically placed to strengthen Mowbrays position at the club. That and a quick sign off to Venkys, enabling fast decisions. A good DoF would bring half of that, and Ferguson or not, I hope Walsh is key to the managerial appointment.

Ironically, the manager Walsh has appointed twice is Allardyce 😳

I did find Critchley's sudden leap up the betting odds intriguing, he'd gone from nowhere  to as low as 12/1 last night and I wouldn't have thought he would have attracted any backers without some sort of expression of interest in the manager's role at Ewood.

I think Critchley would be a good addition and imo he would have been a good replacement for Mowbray at various times when the latter was tanking but I assumed we'd missed the boat for good he signed a new contract at Blackpool.

Have to wait and see I guess.

Would be a fantastic, sensible appointment.

As reported on the 8th May, Wagner was on the opening list (V's List), I'm a little surprised that's not gained far more traction or a wider discussion/debate regarding the potential in that appointment on here in particular.

Our first Foreign appointment given that opening list would be more likely than a British Manager, especially if you add Carvalhal to the three mentioned before. That's four foreign coaches, and very little being offered in opposition to a British Manager.

    Other than Critchley.

For those that think Dyche has been interviewed or is a possibility, do you think he'd be happy as a Head Coach with a Director of Football leading the way for his signings? Bit of a rhetorical question, really, as I don't think he'd accept that setup. I think he needs to be in full control of his own signings to be a success.

If anything, I'd say that would be more of a reason for him not being interested in the job than him wanting to be respectful to Burnley. There is little loyalty in football these days, only cleverly worded fluff and PR speak.

He had that at Burnley with Mike Rigg (ex Rovers under Hughes).

  13. It’s great that macron don’t just produce a template and switch colours for all, however it does mean we can’t really get an idea of our new kit until they announce it! Darn it! That said, here’s 3 macron have announced so far…

    Macron 22-23 kits

would love a navy version of Wrexham with maybe blue, white and red where the diamonds are. Anyone fancy mocking up that as the home too?

the trabzonspor could replicate the yellow and black from 93 that we only wore once.

    Who’s good at mock ups?

  14. Wouldn’t hold your breath on an early release of stock….

    6. Shirt Sponsorship
JW asked for any progress on shirt sponsorship deals for the 2022/23 season. SW replied that the club had already secured back of shirt and back of shorts sponsors. Current front of shirt sponsors Totally Wicked may be interested in continuing as main shirt sponsors but negotiations were ongoing as they also sponsor the training wear. SW stated that the club had made a decision not to accept offer from gambling companies, which was likely to cost the club around £100,000. TS suggested that this should be made more public.
SW had concerns about the supply of new kit stock from China, both in terms of getting deliveries on time and in rapidly rising costs. The club were planning to air freight some stock to avoid any delays in shipping, despite air freight costs rising from £1 to £2.50 per item in recent months. MG wondered whether the club could look to other sources than China like Turkey and Bangladesh given the current issues. SW replied that this was possible in the future but that the club had signed a long term contract with Macron which meant it was not possible at this moment of time.
