I really don't want to have to go to this game. The thought of getting turned over by them is deeply upsetting. It's bad enough being 2 leagues below them however I avoid areas of the internet where there fans gloat however having to listen to a couple of thousand of them lording it over them really upsets me.

Just keep thinking back to their 2 cup fiascos last season. :D

Anyone seen Mowbray's post match interview? Rumour that he will consider his future?

He'll know by the end of the week, apparently.

His future shouldve been decided before today (regardless of the outcome). I think we all know what's going to happeneed.

I'm still convinced hiring him was very calculated, at a time when the heat and descent were rising on the terraces and in the press.

He's a fine orator and a fine man. Hope he stays.

The good news is that whilst the uk now has some of the most draconian inti-privacy snooping and surveillance laws in the world, the internet itself was designed to be resilient  and works around problems. Whilst that was true in a technical sense, it's true in practical sense too and both censorship and mass survelience are treated as problems.

The government will always be 10 steps behind the technologists in that regard.

I think that is the most relevant point. The technologists will always win out.

As far as the paid subscription Kodi apps, these are all based out of the UK, where issues of streaming and piracy are the norm. You don't need a VPN for that content to reach your home (as ive never had one).

Killing individual links etc.. is pointless as another will prop up within minutes. The only way to stop it is by legal process, to close down the whole streaming app/ site, but where they (UK) may not even have jurisdiction.

In an ideal world, the broadcasters would continue to lose subscribers and will then strive to make their subscriptions cheaper/ more affordable to the masses.

  5. UK fans will also be able to access it.

    Where there's a will, there's a way.

There was an article in today's press about how people are watching paid sports coverage at a fraction of the cost.

Sports streams are no longer blurry and buffering messes.

People are catching on, and Sky and BT have brought it on themselves. As someone who paid through the nose for their overpriced and over hyped coverage for decades, I live in the hope that they'll lower their extortionate demands in the wake of this challenge to their arrogance.

The best manager/head coach that we have had since Big Sam. Good results so far. He has a great enthusiasm for the game and I enjoy listening or reading his comments.

With the Venkey factor I doubt if he will be at Rovers for long. I hope that I am wrong.

This is usually the case - we regularly back to square one. Maybe Venkys should bring out a 'Snakes and Ladders, Rovers edition' (obviously with less ladders than usual and way more snakes.

1-Don't buy a football club when you know jack-sh1t about football

2-Do not sack a respected coach and replace him with a coach recommended by an agent

3-Do not stick with that coach when it is obvious none of the fans want him and that he will relegate the team

4-Do not stick with him after relegation

5-Do not bring a Malaysian football pundit in as a global advisor

6-Throwing money into a relegated team does not guarantee promotion and will land you under FFP restrictions

7-Get football people in and let them make football decisions (the Coyle appointment was an absolutely terrible decision, so I suppose you can't always trust "football people" either!)

I would say the above 7 points have been their key leanings

Such compelling evidence, how could I ever have doubted you.

Agents are a horrible aspect of modern football, no doubt about that. We got absolutely fleeced by them over the past 6 years, but there was a concentrated period when we were probably getting fleeced and signing more dross than anyone else. Venkys learnt an extremely costly lesson.

The unfortunate reality is that we will need to engage with agents to sign players going forward. There is no alternative. Picking and choosing agents isn't the answer either though. Number 1 is the focus on the right players we need to improve our squad and then work to deal with their agents. Every club is getting fleeced by them in one was or another. They are a horrible devious breed by and large though and a horrible by product of the money that has flooded the game.

Even though I saw it before, reading that article is so depressing. It strikes me though that the one thing that Venkys really made a mess of was picking managers. If they had have gotten in a Mick MCarthy or a Warnock our first year in the Championship and given them the transfer reigns. I am pretty sure we would have been promoted in a similar fashion to Newcastle. So depressing.

What lesson have Venkys learnt ? And where's any evidence that they've done so ? Didn't bother reading the rest

I always quite liked Mowbray, I liked the way he tried to get teams to play and his honesty with how he responded to questions. Both of those traits have probably led to his undoing at some of his previous jobs, but I think they could be a breath of fresh air for us.

I am not sure exactly who else we were expecting to take the job of fighting against relegation in the Championship, but he is at least experienced and respected. For the time being he is being honest and has handled the questions well, let us hope that this continues and that the wins and points follow.

    Well said, Eddie.

I almost fell asleep listening to Mowbray if I'm honest, but he seems a decent guy, determined, and wants to do a good job, we can't ask for anymore really.

I thought he spoke with authority, passion with a multiple insights into the tactical deficiencies.

On the plus side, at least you can now listen to our managers interviews, unlike with the last gobsh1te.
