  1. Benni's gone on strike, you've got to love the modern day footballer??? For once I'm lost for words and if I'm being honest its making me laugh. So what do we do? Get rid there's no going back from this. But it doesn't mean we can't use the situation to our advantage. Bye Bye Benni, enjoy the bright lights and take-aways with floors of gold, Benni in London, all that temptation. So we're going to have to do something because realistically we'll only get one player out of this and we desperately need creativity. So two birds one stone, use the Benni cash to get in a creative midfielder, be it Ibricic or someone else but get one. We'll still need another front-man and we also need to get Hoillet to sign a deal, 2 + 2 and all that. PS its still making me laugh, its almost as funny as feigning injury to skip international duty last year. What must go on in that lads head???
  2. Well if he has, expect leeds to start a lawsuit, is he not allowed to sign until the end of aprilish? He doesn't have the technique to be a premiership striker at present. Just watch him play he's fantastic with the ball at his feet, but his distribution is not the best and he doesn't strike a ball cleanly. Maybe he could move there as he matures but for now he's better where he is as he gets a bit more time and space than in the middle. He needs to develop more before we consider him there, its far from uncommon for this tactic to be taken, just ask Henry. Hoillet needs to be patient if he sees himself as a striker.
  3. No host team has ever not made the second round, so history is on their side. I think form goes out of the window with these sort of things. Also don't forget having SA in for a couple of the later stages is worth good money to FIFA and as they proved with their seeding fiasco they have no issues bending rules for their own means. Tell you what we can have a gentlemans wager on it? If SA crash and burn I'll pay for dinner, if they progress you pay??
  4. Without doubt, surely someone must fancy the football-less Drogba. Play the two kids together so at least we can go down fighting, bring Benni "Five Bellies" McCarthy from the bench if need be. I'd be keeping Benni getting him on the pitch late on when hopefully our two young ones have tired the CB's legs. Hopefully he could bag enough to make it to SA and play. I'd then sell after/during the world cup. Its pretty much a certainty the home nation will at least make the second round and hopefully Benni would be leading the line. A few goals at the world cup and you never know. Couldn't agree more about Roberts though.
  5. I loved this show, especially when they always got trapped with no way out. Hollywood, get some new ideas FFS. Hopefully they don't do something really stupid like make the car into a transformer. EDIT: I've just seen the trailer, are they really doing what I think they are doing at the end? very A Team I wonder if BA's ok in a flying tank? I got dragged to watch Avatar and I'm quiet shocked to read that some liked it? It ranked alongside Titantic for me, which, well I got woken up at the end of that one. 3D very nice but novelty factor wears off after 5 minutes although I reckon watching a match that way might be good.
  6. If he can, we could still need him on the pitch!! As half time entertainment like Mr Chang.
  7. Hughes staff also struggled with keeping him fit. At the end of the day you can't train someone who doesn't want to be trained, and thats Benni. Given his track record at other clubs and the constant criticisms that have followed his career, I wouldn't lay the blame at the coaches feet but his.
  8. My heart felt sympathies go out to his family, especially his wife.
  9. He was a player as well, what a pity he got injured when he did.
  10. Well it would seem Sav is going nowhere. Savage
  11. Unfortunatly there seems to be a serious lack of good places to eat in Liverpool. However I reckon we've got more macdonalds per square mile than any other city, they are everywhere. Tris whats teal??
  12. I'd swap him for one of our other Madrid targets from the summer. I wonder whether we could pull the money for him together from just Benni's sale, though.
  13. I think you'll find they have fond memories of Ray at Tranmere almost 600 games in their shirt. He's done well at that level before so all the best Ray, I'm glad you refound your level.
  14. No idea TCQ. Cheers Topman. Wouldn't mind having those two in our 11. When will Wenger buy a goalkeeper, alumina is a liability. Must say watch arsenals fourth from tonights game, eduardo does a 25 yard back heel with out looking straight onto arshavins right foot on the run.
  15. I wonder if AZ would want to swap Diouf for Dembele, he looks like a player to watch.
  16. No its no surprise buts its the first time I've seen quotes even if they are from his agent? Its the part about Van Heerden as well wanting out that surprises me. I thought he was one for the second half guess he's decided not to wait that long.
  17. http://www.kickoff.com/static/news/article.php?id=12000 Sorry it won't insert the link. I assume thats benni's agent speaking but it would appear he's not the only one who wants out. They mention the loan and I have to say I hope its not true.
  18. Quickest response in football ever But we want both of them in the team, not one or the other.
  19. I'm afraid its time to retract my previous comments and get this boy back in the team. I'm past caring how little work he does off the ball, for one reason: 1.) We are currently playing with 10 anyway IMO. So lets get him on the pitch wandering round doing nothing instead of a certain other player who does similiar. Di Santo's doing well but on his own its no mean task especially with his experience, but him and Benni could definitly work. Play the boy Sam, please we need goals.
  20. True very true. Many kids have fallen by the wayside, and many more will. He had a lot of promise pity it never came to fruition.
