  1. Presumably ‘potential’. Although their disappointment will probably have been tempered by the £7m fee, with BB having achieved nothing. Imagine if we were offered £7m for Nuttall. Even fans like me who like him would bite their hand off.
  2. But then goes on to say... “we’ll see”. Show a bit of faith in the youth, Tony!
  3. There is just no imagination, no innovation, no creativity, just ‘if you don’t buy one you’re not committed [so we’re better off without you]’.
  4. Surely this can be taught? And to... Brereton. Pretty sure you have me on ignore at this point Jim so feel free not to respond.
  5. I can’t see him scoring any time soon. Right now I wouldn’t be handing him the ball for a penalty. Needs some serious work. I honestly can’t see what his attributes are. No pace, no physical presence, no threat in the air, no great skill, can’t hold the ball up - and in his 15-20 minute cameos he always looks knackered after 5 minutes. Nuttall looks far more like a centre forward than Brereton.
  6. Seems like he’s in two minds! ”We’ll see how it goes” is a bit non-committal. Lewis need to get some kind of assurance that if he keeps playing well he can get the shirt on a more permanent basis. No favours, no guarantees, just reassurance that if he does well he can get into the side.
  7. I think Downing came in and did an adequate job without pulling up any trees. Lewis is a dynamo.
  8. I think @perthblue02 should have created a new thread for the game. It’s going to be carnage in here if people start playing.
  9. You been on the brandy? (Sorry, thought we were doing Christmas gags).
  10. I’ll be extremely disappointed in Mowbray if he drops him for the next game, or when Smallwood is fit. If he loans him out at this stage, I’d be questioning his ability to spot a player. And so, I expect, would the rest of our U23 players...
  11. Just think if a deal was being done while the game was on and Dack’s goal was the clincher.
  12. I’d love to know what Mowbray’s thinking was there with Dack. It was clearly a surprise to young Bradley. He was remonstrating with his teammates about something. Personally I don’t think the pressure is off the Millwall game. If we don’t win that we’ve thrown away what we got today. Let’s not be thinking we can afford to drop points because of three points against West Brom. We lost two against Birmingham so we are all square. We now need to start again and target wins where we can. Starting with Millwall and definitely Ipswich.
  13. Massive result that. Because of our bad run, it has done nothing for our league position but, psychologically, hanging on to that win was huge. Take a bow Lewis Travis, his energy and determination to go forward rather than back was the driving force behind our midfield today. Armstrong was excellent for our second goal too. The rest were pretty average if we are honest including Dack, despite scoring again. Anyone know the story behind him going off? That was a big call from Mowbray but we got the points so he can take some credit. Least said about Brereton the better though... Still 15th but we are now only 4 points off 10th, and 12 points clear of the relegation places. 100% record in 2019 - Mowbray’s Invincibles!
  14. If Mowbray drops Travis for Smallwood he wants his bumps feeling.
  15. Genuinely think that if Smallwood wasn’t suspended Travis would be on the bench. Travis could star in the next three games and will be dropped when Lowe is back again, cough, Smallwood.
  16. Smallwood suspended. Williams and Rodwell dropped. Bell, Conway and young Joe Grayson in. Grayson presumably cover for cb and fb with. Travis surviving the shake-up by starting but Mowbray proving to be the self-fulfilling prophecy by dropping Brereton and Rothwell. Presumably he doesn’t trust them or is rotating the squad again. Brereton‘s first day as a Rovers player and he’s back on the bench. Rothwell dropped to the bench too. 4-3-1-1 presumably and long punts up to Graham. Going to be a tough watch today folks. 0-0 the target, let’s hope he doesn’t miss.
  17. The minimum today is to NOT collapse. Incidentally, if anyone travels to Ewood via Green Lane, you need to avoid today. The bridge there has ‘done a Rovers’ and the road is closed.
  18. I miss the old Gav. You know, the one who didn’t stop by once every couple of weeks to slag off posters.
  19. Gladwin needs to be as far away from this team as possible. If he is fit again he needs to be going out on loan in January.
