  1. Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want - The Smiths
  2. I love The Black Keys. One of those bands where i actually remember where i was the first time i heard one of their tracks (Hard Row). Mind you, there isn't much else to enjoy nowadays. I'm even looking forward to the inevitable disappointment of the Roses reunion. On that subject, did anyone else see the press conference? Whats us with Mani? I reckon he's seriously bloody ill. Weezing like a goodun and at one point Ian Brown even asks if he's okay.
  3. Stone Roses - This Is The One Edit...Curse you TCO! Pete Doherty and Wolfman - Song For Lovers
  4. http://www.people.co.uk/sport/football/news/2011/10/02/blackburn-rovers-coach-target-had-club-tour-before-jesnen-s-departure-102039-23460161/ Paul Clement news. If this is true it begs the question 'why would he agree to take up the post for such unscrupulous employers?'
  5. It might not be a bad time to introduce him. I'm not sure how they are fixed now, but Everton were well short on numbers last weekend. I'm pretty sure they fielded a quite a few kids of their own. It could be a half decent game to play Rochina and see what he's got to offer short term. Blind optimism here, but i fancy us to pinch a result.
  6. Couldn't agree more Ivan The amazing thing is that a 'normal healthy man' should have approx 20% body fat ratio. A boxer who has trained for a fight has approx 8%. Now you'd expect a professional footballer to be somewhere between the two i'd imagine. Probably closer to the 8%. I'll give you a little insight. When Ricky Gervais fought Grant Bovey in that charity fight a few years ago he was at just over 25% body fat. OK he was probably 8-10 years older than McCarthy. But there is no excuse for him to have got into this state. To think this man thought he deserved a starting place in our first team.
  7. Not a fan of Sullivan but this did amuse me; http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1282288/West-Ham-United-Arsenal-East-London-pledges-David-Sullivan.html ‘I believe Mr Zola had every entitlement to remain manager for the season. He wanted me to buy Benni McCarthy, I bought Benni McCarthy. That was the one player he wanted to sign and I signed him. ‘Benni McCarthy’s body-fat measurement is 24.2 per cent. Mine is 25.4 per cent. Benni McCarthy is nearly as fat as me. I try to do aerobics in the morning but I’m 61 years old. ‘He’s the one West Ham player I want to go to the World Cup because he might come back fitter. ‘Franck Queudrue once came back to Birmingham at 18 per cent but I’ve never known any footballer over 20 per cent. He got so out of shape. He came to us overweight and got injured and gradually it got worse. ‘I don’t know at what point this becomes a breach of contract. It probably doesn’t. But Frankie Dettori starves himself to get to the right weight. Usain Bolt wouldn’t be the Olympic 100metre champion if he put on a stone. ‘It is not unreasonable to keep to a diet when you’re a professional sportsman. It ought to be a breach of contract.
  8. Agree. Although for me Santa Cruz was better than McCarthy. What Benni needs to understand is that Sam trying to make him put the effort in was for his own benefit. If only he'd learnt this lesson in his younger days he could have been an exceptional footballer. For some bizarre reason people seem to think strikers fall into two categories. Ones that try and ones that can play. The true greats do both. If Benni had any sort of work ethic he could have been a world beater. Santa Cruz worked hard for the side and, in my humble opinion, is one of the best target men in the game (when fit). For this reason i will remember him long after Benni McCarthy is a distant memory. When i consider the true greats who played for us in recent years alone (Shearer, Sutton, Hendry, Berg, Jansen, Dunn, Duff, Tugay, Bellamy and Santa Cruz) it just confirms to me how far off that bench mark McCarthy is. Thanks for 1 good season Benni. But selling you on for 250k less than we paid for you seems pretty reasonable business to me.
  9. I've felt for some time now that Benni might end up at Liverpool. No long term future in it, but with Benitez needing reinforcements up front Benni might fit the bill. He's still good enough to score goals and would thrive at a 'bigger' club.
  10. It was only said in jest Philip. I think our Big Sam did wonders with what he had to work with.
  11. Fergie got it all wrong. He should have put his tallest center half up top. Packed his midfield with sub standard and slow players. 5 preferably. Put 4 at the back and hope to god he didn't concede. Whilst relying on set pieces and the battering ram center half turned striker to provide flick ons. Seems perfectly logical to me. I just can't understand why this approach has never been thought of.
