  1. Wing backs who aren't wing backs 🙄 Create nothing, except exposure to the opposition. Everything else seems to be working well this season though, mainly right down the center from back to front. Something that has been missing since the bald rat first entered the managers chair over a decade ago.
  2. It's where we finish that is the main thing and i feel too many are grasping this good run to wave the TM banner again. A little bit of looking back over the past 3 seasons tells the real story. So on the back of that i'd be leaving an offer till later in the season but i would be telling him where he stands in private. A good finish and keep the squad together and we'll talk about an extension, fall away badly, actively try and sell players we don't want to leave, sign duds and we will be looking for change in summer. At least he knows where he stands and he might even tell them where to go but at least everyone is prepared. It's down to him then, absolutely nobody in their right mind cannot say he hasn't had a fair crack of the whip here.
  3. Next to the A59 ? Wouldn't look so good if it came on the back of selling players to pay for it though.
  4. Now you're talking, although i quite like the Leyland set up and it seems to drag in a few kids off the streets.
  5. Just how are people supposed to understand if they don't know what's going on ? Either spill the beans or keep it to yourself you're getting worse than Nixon.
  6. There'll be money to reward the manager and his staff with new long term deals though as a reward. Who needs the hassle of promotion when you can sell big money players every few years whilst plodding in midtable......
  7. Yes, it'll still disappear 20 mill or 10 so as a fan i'd like to see us get everything we can out of him on the pitch. I don't really care what goes into someone else's bank.
  8. Having sold AA and transferred the STC for 16 million the books should balance and any money for Brereton should go straight back into the team / club. Chances of that actually happening ?
  9. The more you buy at once surely you get a better discount which should kind of balance things out a bit. I'd suggest this being the best kit in an age and a revert to the more well known traditional look these kits were always going to fly out.
  10. Is this the Brentford model bringing through players then letting them go for token sums or compen just to get a bit back to re-invest in loan and freebies ? We'll not progress any further with that approach unless in the very unlikely scenario they pull some real rabbits out the hat. More chance of ending up with championship plodders on 10k pwk again.
  11. Probably just comes down to plain old penny pinching being terrified of having 10 left in stock so would rather have less then chase more if needed.
  12. 'Can' go to or will go to ? I'd never say bust the bank for them but most have either come through the ranks or from a lower league so their wages will reflect that. Now they are regular established Championship players and they'll want wages to reflect that which is fair enough. This is before greedy agents and silly ideas of being entitled comes into the thinking of course. Main problem is the management and suits have ignored these issues for too long and wasted money on loaning in the Trybulls etc and changing the style of play instead. 'If' this was the journey to a young vibrant hungry side they are trying to pretend say it was now then off the pitch they've royally screwed up. Too many at once in the same boat means too much needs committing and that is probably scaring off the bean counters. Committing a few million to get them signed up though is chicken feed to these lot and for once it actually investment not waste.
  13. A bit condescending in regards to Huddersfield they usually bring more here than we take there they have a very good fanbase. Doubt it'll be over 2.5k but it'll be decent numbers.
  14. Exactly. Always try and push on from a position of strength instead of the usual panic when things are bad. Whether that be a fresh approach whilst the club is still on a decent footing. Or backing Mowbray with getting the talent re-signed, a couple of million to spend and a short term target based rolling contract for himself. They should be doing something in the coming months. Best chance for years to actually push on. Ok it might cost 3 or 4 million in the short term but that is easily retrievable from this squad in a season or two. Establishing Rovers in the top 8 to keep challenging is a real statement and of course promotion or even some play off tussles is the reward. Chances are nailed on though they'll do nowt, ignore it having put money in from STC sale then review it all on the eve of next season. When it is yet again too late.
  15. How many chances does he need before the penny drops ? My guess is hes never really fully recovered from his injury hes never looked the same and it will have taken its toll mentally. If i was his agent i'd be looking around getting him a gig elsewhere whilst hes still on a contract. A fresh start all around needed he can't keep draining wages here. Sadly i think even lower down the pyramid is where he belongs now but there's surely a club out there he can do a job for, IF he really wants it.
  16. They are unlikely to stump up compensation and he is unlikely to go at this stage. If he was out of contract in summer and they were still looking i could see it happening. Seeing how weary and red up hes looked at times over the last few seasons i'd say he'd probably need a break but managers say that then jump straight in somewhere else. It's a tricky situation but hes coasted it here at times seemingly under zero pressure and happy to plod and make a dozen excuses every week. I'm loving what is happening this season and maybe this situation suits him better with young players and older egos removed. Not sure it is entirely by design if we are being truthful but he has to take credit for his share of it to be fair. I'm interested to see where it leads but to be honest the signs off the park aren't good and the onus seems shifted onto the owners for this. Yes it's at their door now probably but the manager and CEO have had budgets and several previous seasons to try and avoid this scenario. So i'm sorry but they have to take their share of responsibility for that as well, these are the things you get with Mowbray, good and bad in equal measure. So whilst i'd like him to see the season out i'm not sure i want another 3 or 4 years of his often muddled methods and excuse making. If we finish well and he stays then give him a shorter term deal or rolling contract but with actual targets even if it costs a bit more money being a shorter deal. Then we might see some real drive and ambition all around because as far as this young squad is concerned i think they have it. Just not sure about everyone else - including some fans !
  17. Yep McCarthy had about 25% of their fanbase on his case all the way through they just never took to his style. Perils of being a percentage based manager i suppose but i remember reading their forums and it made TM critics look tame.
  18. He never sounds in two minds at once more like five ! Yes there has been a pandemic and its affected every club in the land one way or another yet we've taken in 30 million recently allegedly. So the books should be balancing and there is the inevitable Diaz sale on the horizon in the next 12 to 18 months if he stays fit and firing. Surely there is enough there to be confident enough to commit to some of these players who are unlikely to be asking for 25k per week. At least one of them with be worth decent money in a year or two so it can be covered. Where is the ambition Venkys ? Why are you just happy to spaff 20 million a year going nowhere ?
  19. As i predicted hot on the heels of the few newspaper articles the other week we now have a club suddenly allegedly after him. Not a hint of anyone wanting the genius in the last 5 years. If he signs off with a good finish this season then goes down there that might be the best for everyone. He'll do nowt at Ipswich without a big budget.
  20. Contract extensions for all senior influential players once he steps in followed by offering 75% pay offs before they kick in. Then the revolving door policy begins disguised as a rebuilding job. Be interesting to see the pattern that might unfold up there but one thing is for sure that rat isn't there to coach kids long term. This has operation Wee Stevie the comeback written all over it.
  21. Fake news Someone told me it was being to used to pass tests when in fact it's the opposite.
  22. So just when the team is going well and fans might be starting to come back this happens. All to deflect the other shit flying at the govt, well done. Balls up the many to protect the few.
  23. That's still no excuse for over priced fare. Next time iv'e rushed to get to a game and as a human being suddenly strangely feel hungry and actually need to eat, perish the thought, i'll send out for a roast dinner instead then.
