  1. The club's work on it in training when there is nobody pressing. Some of those delusional managers try and replicate it in proper games and so many are getting caught out. Aside from a handful of clubs it's suicidal football.
  2. It isn't just you my friend. There is a pretty sedate crowd where I sit and more and more are questioning Mowbrays tactics. I firmly believe Mowbray is stubborn and wants to prove himself right by doing it but he is costing us. After all he has been in the game forty years so he has to know best.
  3. And can he play on the right wing? Normally I would put them smiley things after a comment like that but that's probably where he will end up.
  4. The real worry to me about this referee was that he was almost oblivious to Prestons underhanded tactics which are, without a shadow of a doubt deliberate. I lost count of the number of times they stood over the ball to prevent us taking a quick free kick, tapped the ball away or actually run away with it and delayed nearly every restart. Bradley Johnson was assaulted and not even a free kick but his worst decision was when Armstrong nipped the ball from one of their lumps and his touch was a little heavy but he was caught and the ball just went out. It was a clear foul by the Nobber but because Armstrong was honest he didn't get the deserved free kick. Had he gone down he would have. That told me that the referee just doesn't understand game and his type of officiating will only encourage players to go down. Weak and inept doesn't do him justice.
  5. I'm beginning to feel a bit for Gallagher and become more angry with Mowbray for his crass stupidity and stubbornness in playing him out wide. He looks like a fish out of water and without a shadow of doubt has had his best moments down the middle. Mowbray is making a fool out of himself and Gallagher here. It's like he's trying to prove a point but is embarrassing himself. Into the game and I thought we were alright. On the balance of chances could have won against horrible opponents. Their players blatantly cheat and the weak referee allowed them to get away with disgusting tactics. I would put their manager in that category too. Our best player by a country mile was Downing who was excellent. His use of the ball was better than any player on the pitch and his performance belied his years. Some of our players would do well to watch how careful he is with the ball, hardly ever giving it away. Overall I feel disappointed not to have won but my dislike of all things Preston has intensified.
  6. Rather than having a go at the fans the finger should be pointed more at how badly he has been managed. It's not his fault we paid massively over the odds but the number of times I've seen Mowbray put his head in his hands after a players mistake (including Brereton) is publicly humiliating for the player concerned. And it was Mowbray who had him play for the under 23's last season. And to reiterate aside from a few individual moans and groans from some fans he has had no real criticism.
  7. Trying to do a Cruyff turn in his own goal area you mean ????
  8. Thanks Parson. I have only seen Hilton play twice and he looked really good. It beggars belief that we have two error ridden keepers as first choices with the likelihood of neither being here next season when we have a youngster who, with the right platform could shine and potentially be sold on for big money.
  9. Another match day comes around and I haven't a clue what our team will be, what system we will play or what our tactics will be. After coming from behind in November to beat us I expect Neil will play the same way as he did after half an hour when they bullied us out of the game. They will kill the game at every opportunity, harangue the referee and fourth official and delay every restart. We have to match that. We have to more aggressive, kick them, pull their shirts in the right areas and generally be more professional (and nasty). However I don't believe we can do and I foresee another frustrating afternoon of attrition and Mowbray extolling the benefit of gaining a point as a move in the right direction.
  10. I actually intimated that I agree with Cunningham going back but fundamentally disagree with giving Gladwin a new deal primarily to rehabilitate. Gladwin was out of contract so Mowbray was under no obligation to keep him apart from his 'I'm a good guy' stuff. They should both have been business decisions.
  11. He calls it a business decision which is fair enough and yet Gladwin got six months rehabilitation contract. Double standards once again.
  12. Plus he hasn't played for Middlesbrough, West Brom or Coventry and I'm sure he was pictured in ripped jeans. ☺️
  13. Bloody hell mate that's harsh. He was inconsistent but you are putting him in the Murphy category with that accusation. His loyalty was never in doubt to the vast, vast majority of Rovers fans. Why don't you go and ask him yourself?
  14. That's Fantasy Island stuff mate. We'll never score two ???.
  15. The Birmingham manager actually referred to our left side ie their right side.
  16. This assassination by Mowbray really begs the question of why he paid £5m him. Has he just started to do this after he signed for us? It's far more likely that he has always been like this which in itself begs another question of why pay that much. Maybe Mowbray thought he and his coaching staff could fix this which is another massive failure if so. He really should keep his gob shut. Mr Teflon Mowbray.
  17. I was there and didn't know anything about him crying until I logged on here. His body language when he was going off appeared to be one of frustration and disappointment. Did anybody categorically see him crying?
  18. I never heard any booing neither. Clearly some fans were getting agitated and I heard some individuals shouting at players but nothing out of the ordinary.
  19. We had enough chances to have won comfortably today but were so wasteful in front of goal. Brereton and Gallagher are poor at pretty much everything but I'm reluctant to have a go at them. It's not their fault we paid money massively disproportionate to their abilities or pay them handsomely on fantastic contracts. The fault lies with Mowbray, Waggott and whoever else allowed Rovers to be duped into buying them. On that alone they should be sacked. There were a lot of other inadequacies today for which Mowbray has to carry the can and a lot of these traits we have shown time and time again but nothing seems to happen. He is the public face of Rovers but I don't believe he accepts enough responsibility for results. There's always a reason or two which doesn't involve him. I think we'll finish in the bottom six but the real worry for me would be next season. He should do the honourable thing and go. There's no shame in saying he's taken us as far as he can and getting out with some pride intact.
  20. I agree but if he went with Leutwiler, Hilton or Fisher today we (and they) know that Where's Wally would be back for the Nobbers game.
  21. I didn't hear anything I could disagree with in all honesty. Working on weaknesses and working on various aspects is how to improve. If you were the goalkeeping coach how would you address the three goals we conceded at Forest which were all attributable to Walton? There's an old saying about making a silk purse out of a sows ear.
  22. The reality is that Mowbray is being critical of himself and his coaching staff regarding Rothwell. He's been here 18 months now and there hasn't been any marked improvement as I see it. If Mowbray sees weaknesses he should address them on the training ground and not go public in his criticism of him. It's not the first time neither. If he can't be improved then it's another filed under 'Mowbray's poor signings '.
  23. Planning for next season will be starting soon and if Mowbray is given until the end of the season and then sacked any new manager would be starting from scratch in terms of new signings (and given the out of contract and loan players that could be a lot).
  24. An absolute waste of money. Mowbray should be held accountable for this farce.
  25. That's akin to saying that Mowbray shouldn't be allowed to sign any more players because generally his signings haven't added value. After the last four games I really believe we will be in a relegation scrap and anything can happen. We are stagnant under Mowbray and I don't think he can turn this malaise around. We need some fresh ideas, some motivational techniques and a new pair of eyes. I said to you the other day that I would move Damien Johnson up and you disagreed which is your prerogative. There is growing concern about the direction we are going under Mowbray but your assertion about the elephant still in the room is absolutely correct. Venkys are slowly killing us.
