Thanks for the info , all sorted just rung ticket office ...

If you are driving there is a road closure on the A59 on the way to Blubberhouses with a diversion in place. We got caught going to Middlesbrough a fortnight ago and the diversion added half an hour to the journey time. The roads will be busy enough anyway with it being Easter Monday.

Not shooting the messenger here, but how many deals do we nearly get over the line, but ultimately don’t? Must be a record, I swear!

I really think that under these owners transfers are done too late in the window. With them apparently having to sign everything off and their penchant for mind changing it's a bad combination. I remember Samba and Nelsen, two of our best ever signings coming in on trial in the first few days of the January window. Under this lot everything is late or delayed.

I hope not, I think McFadzean will be exposed against this opposition. If we go with 3 CH’s, I would much rather Carter comes back in.

Playing Carter after a lengthy absence might be considered too much of a risk. I don't know if Moore will start after his midweek exertions but he clearly represents an aerial threat which we will have to cope with. They are in the top three for goals from set pieces so we will have to be wary of that. I'm convinced if we keep a clean sheet we win the game.

  4. It's disappointing that Scott has come out with this. It seems to me that his grievance started with not getting in the team for the Burnley match (which Tomasson screwed up in) and the good form of Hyam and Carter coupled with his individual errors meant he wasn't picked. That's football and to bleat about it now doesn't do him any favours.

It will be interesting what Eustace does when Carter is fit.

  5. Broughton actually said another deal nearly happened but didn't. He name checked our CEO as agreeing the deal with a club where he has contacts. PerkS would and that to the catalogue of errors and undermining which caused Tomasson to leave. Broughton must have felt usurped undermined too with that and the Fleck deal.

He wasn't quick to accept responsibility last year - he was the only one willing to put their head above the parapet after a PR disaster, knowing the fans and media demanded an explanation. There was an uncomfortably long period of nothing coming out of the club explaining how the paperwork for 2 players had been fucked up on deadline day.

He was on a hiding to nothing then by being professional.

He's been stabbed in the back again by the same charlatans this January so unsurprisingly doesn't feel the same sense of professional duty to front up for the club.

He did an interview on February 3rd last year accepting full responsibility saying 'the buck stops with me'. He also said he didn't think we would win an appeal but, at great expense we went ahead with it anyway. I believe he gets too easy a ride primarily because of his media friendliness.

I don't think our midfield can compete - i'd be tempted to go back to the 3412 / 5212 from before Middlesborough personally.

    3412 when attacking:

    Pears

    Carter Hyam Wharton

    Brittain JRC Tronstad Christene

    Szmodics

    Gally Dolan

    5212 when defending:

    Pears
    Brittain Carter Hyam Wharton Christene

    JRC Tronstad

    Szmodics
    Gally Dolan

In the game and a half Eustace has played a back four I think we have played the best under him looking tight and compact. In the other games whilst playing a five we just haven't really laid a glove on the opponents midfield. I personally don't think he will play a back four but will bring McFadzean back.

To be fair he does mention that. He states that we pulled out of the original deal whilst he was still in America sat with his representatives, and that rumours of him being in the air when the deal got pulled are absolutely not true. He then came across as he had the opportunity to sign for another Championship club. It's in the Jackson interview.

What is telling in the Bayes interview is when the questions are slightly off what he expected how his answers aren't as pre-rehearsed. He trots the "up until the Watford game" out in every interview. As soon as Bayes calls it out that its over the last 46 games we have been relegation contenders, not just since Christmas, he doesn't have an answer other than to waffle.

Fair play to Andy Bayes. You often find Radio Lancs interviews with all of the local clubs will pull out the more difficult questions when things are not going well and it felt like that again. The Jackson interview and the academy interview were all pally, pally plain sailing. The Bayes one is a bit more awkward.

Overall I just dont think Broughton is very good at his job. I'm not even sure what his job covers any more as he's now making it very clear in all interviews that the manager will have the final say, on whether we sign Maguire or on past JDT recruitment. Therefore is all he do negotiate contracts with people.

He is shining the light a little bit for us though. He's sending out enough clear signs to say that the others at the club are incompetent and he knows what should happen to make the club successful but whether he is listened to, or that model of re-investment is followed, he cannot guarantee.

I haven't heard the Jackson interview. I thought Bayes had a good line of questioning but could have been more forensic on the McGuire debacle. For example why was the deal left so late in the window particularly after the fiasco late in the last January window and what changed for it to be on/off. He also said categorically after the last January window that all processes would be reviewed to prevent another O'Brien and Brierley situation yet another transfer fails and brings shame and embarrassment on our club. He was quick to accept responsibility last year but this time it was 'human error'.

Once again there are far more questions than answers.

  9. Having seen Ipswich several times I think their central midfield two of Luongo and Morsy are so important to the way they play and their success so far this season. We simply have to match them up here or risk being outnumbered and overrun. To do that we have to play a back four and keep two banks of four as our main shape. Scoring first will be key in this match I think and I would set up to play on the counter attack with our emphasis on keeping them out and limiting the number of chances they create.

  10. I've always thought of him as a blagger, a man way out of his depth and this interview reinforces that view to me. His cheesy grin doesn't help but I could put up with that if I had any faith in him. The McGuire situation wasn't nearly covered in the level of detail it should have been. Why wasn't he questioned on why the deal changed so much whilst the player himself was in mid-air and why he ended up in a hotel in Sheffield ready to sign for Sheffield Wednesday. His answer about the regression this season question was that of a politician as he insulted our intelligence. And, for legal reasons he couldn't to into the Tomasson situation. He has clearly been told not to. His boast about young players signing professional contracts is misleading to me. With a couple of exceptions they pretty much all haven't been near the first team. Most are happy to sign to become professional footballers and are on poor wages. His boast about 24 years in professional football sums his ego up. Pretty much nobody has heard of him and likely never will.

It's obvious what game Waggott is playing here; it's called 'smoke and mirrors'.

He's fleeced the Leeds fans to maximise revenue from them, whilst knowing all along that Leeds would charge us full whack in return.

He'll have built this 'subsidy' into his overall calculation, as a means to appear the good guy.

    Don't be fooled.

I wrote to Waggott in August and suggested to him exactly what he has actually done ie charge Leeds full cat A prices but discount the tickets for Rovers fans at Elland Road. Although he didn't completely rule it out I suggested to him that the tone of his replies indicated he wouldn't do it. And I firmly believe if it wasn't live on Sky and we got a few quid for this it wouldn't be happening.

I have kept the emails too.

Of all the things JDT could be aggrieved about that doesn't sound like it should be very high up the list.

Why would he be upset about a loan deal being arranged for a player he rated?

And also difficult to believe this player wouldnt have been an improvement on the players we did end up with who Broughton presumably did sign?

Plus as we used to keep getting told, he was a head Coach and not a manager so wouldn't have had the sole say on incomings.

I think you have got the wrong end of the stick. It was a Rovers player being loaned out.

  13. I was told last night that on the last day of the window Pasha and Waggott arranged a loan deal for a player Tomasson rated behind his back. Tomasson got wind of this and asked the player who told him it was true but he was of the understanding that Tomasson had agreed to it. Tomasson went ballistic at those two and went to town on them, it was said to me that it was the straw that broke the camel's back. Being the cowards that are they were scared they would be called out in his press conference the day before the QPR game and stopped him doing it. This ties in with the 'ask Steve and Pasha' comment after the QPR game.

And Broughton knew nothing of this scurrilous deal.

I was told the name of the player but it would be unfair to name him.

Arbitro - I checked this with Fraser Read. It seems to be bad wording rather than any deliberate policy. Any fan can get a free under 12s ticket as long as they are either buying an adult ticket for the game or they are already an adult season ticket holder. Adult includes seniors.

I have asked him to clarify it on the website.

Thanks for doing that. Rather than just amend the original announcement they should issue a completely new one as people who have already read it probably won't read it again and potentially miss out. It might help also if information was given how to get these ie in person, online etc.

  15. The meeting should be with selected fans and a roving mike and recorded. These people like Waggott, Pasta and Broughton have far too easy a ride and undoubtedly the questions would be vetted from local media. Covid was a good thing for them. Because of Covid they have done away with the fans consultation meetings, shareholder meetings and even mentioned it yesterday in the communication eulogising the owners.

    There is absolutely no accountability.
