  1. Really disappointed with the manager with those substitutions. Might as well have thrown a white towel on the pitch and walked off. Before those two substitutions we were competing really well.
  2. Quite bizarre substitutions. The best two players taken off. Throwing the game?
  3. Thank fuck for that Gallagher off. We have a full compliment of 11 again.
  4. Poor game, can't see Newcastle being aanywhere near as sad second half. Thought Dolan was the pick of our players, Sz.odics looks a danger but should have tried to go across the keeper with the two chances he had. Buckley is one of the few in our team with the talent to hold his own in this Company but needs to be more involved. How the fuck Gallagher gets away with conning people week after week is anyone's guess he's an absolute liability. Be interesting if we make it to penalties. I think the manager deserves credit tonight for making us fairly compact.
  5. That's assuming they bother going back to Court in light of the Wharton sale.
  6. You can't really count the Wrexham game against League 2 opposition. Has he really looked that good since he came back. Reportedly dire against Birmingham and again last night.
  7. It's more a case that the people who wanted Pears out of the team in the first place, aren't having him under any circumstances and won't accept that as ordinary as he is he's still a considerable upgrade on woeful Wahlstedt. Can't see that Pears has done a great deal wrong since coming back in. Wahlstedt was costing us a minimum of one and often two goals every game.
  8. If the first installment is £6m as rumoured that will only keep us going until some time in June. Then however there's the Raya money and that combined with a modest sale should keep us going for a further 4-5 months after that. Problem is Szmodics apart, the family silver has now been well and truly flogged off. And what would he fetch? £7m or £8m at best?
  9. Blimey Chaddy, when you're in a hole stop digging! Anyhow on Eustace, he seems to be doing what it says on the tin i.e. hopefully grinding out enough points to limp to safety. Whether playing in this manner with zero attacking intent is viable over a full season though, I very much doubt. And is there ANYTHING to do with the Club that will encourage people to buy a season ticket next season? If there is I must have missed it.
  10. No he isn't, we should have snapped Ipswich's arms off at the elbow. He's an expensive liability both in terms of the fee paid for him and his wages.
  11. It would appear certainly that one of the reasons Waggott brought him in is that he will keep his head down and not be openly critical like JDT was. Again I have no particular issue with that but IF and only if he gets results.
  12. His interviews are a bit soundbitey granted but I couldn't care less as long as he gets results.
  13. Yep, he seems well up for the "model" of developing players and flogging them on for a profit but even if you think that model is a good idea, Szmodics apart, none of his signings fall into that bracket. Anyone could be lucky enough to inherit a generational talent like Wharton and turn a profit, but look at the total amount we've received as well for the 2 "crown jewels" Phillips and Wharton. Absolutely pitiful.
  14. It's all a bit "meh" isn't it. It sounds like we're now a dreadful watch but nevertheless Eustance has managed four points from his three games in charge. If we'd stayed with JDT and lost those three games, which is a distinct possibility, we'd be sat just one point above the bottom 3 now. What I don't understand is how we've managed to coach any creativity out of the side within 72 hours of Eustace taking over. Are players SO one dimensional they can't continue to do those things they were actually doing well under a new Coach? Needs must this season I guess. Whether this is sustainable in the long run is a different matter.
  15. Just noticed Fleck lasted a grand total of 17 minutes. What a fucking joke. Stoke saw Broughton coming with that one.
  16. I hope no-one booed them off at half time. The likes of our "Captain" Dominic Hyam might take their bat and ball home and flounce off in a huff.
  17. Have the opposition EVER scored a goal against us which wasn't a foul in your eyes?
  18. Based on what? Presiding over the fucking up of the OBrien, Brierley signings and the Mcguire loan? Signing Hirst, Ennis, Telalovic and Wahlstedt? Having us hurtling towards relegation? Yeah, that'll be doing wonders for his reputation!
  19. He SHOULD be.... but I bet he isn't. As simongarnerisgod says it'd be like turkeys voting for Christmas.
  20. It's important that everyone gives Eustace a fair crack of the whip and is not biased against him because he was allegedly Waggott's pick. However by the same token I think it's important he is careful what he says and doesn't come out with too much nonsense like the comments about Gallagher. If he comes out with too much PR fluff and completely fails to tell it how it is, the fans will quickly see through it and might turn.
  21. JFHC it's not all I ask for from a centre forward - his job is to score goals! And if even the coach thinks two more goals from him in the final 15 games is the most we can expect (and even that may be too much of an ask) then we really are fucked. But then we knew that at the start of the season going into it with him as main striker. The chickens are coming home to roost. BTW I remember Souness referring to Martin Taylor (who I really rated) as "son in law material". Only Souness wasn't being complimentary.
  22. I would have fancied us for this with JDT in charge, now I can't muster up any enthusiasm for it at all. Expecting a right tonking on the evening even if arguably Eustace might be more likely to grind out a few results in the League.
