  1. Pretty good effort for such a long journey. In the good old days they'd have come by special train, with windows on the way up but no windows on the way back
  2. Bazball works for flat track bullies but gets found out against the better teams and players who stick to the time-honoured Test match virtues of crease occupation and solid defence. But for one extraordinary innings from Pope this would have been a 5-0 whitewash. Reading the papers it seems Stokes is leading this attack at all costs mantra as much as McCullum. With an away Ashes series on the horizon it's time for a rethink because it won't work down there either.
  3. Why do folk think that relegation might lead to some sort of awakening in India - that it might lead to them acting on some way, or even selling the club? There's no guarantee that relegation - and another relegation to L2 - might be a catalyst for anything. In all likelihood, they will carry on running the same way, with minimal interest, minimum funding and certainly no engagement with supporters. BRFC has been placed in the Venky's bottom drawer - to be looked at perhaps once a year and the returned into the same dusty file for another 12 months or so. They don't care, because their arrogance does not allow them to admit they have made a huge mistake in buying the club in the first place.
  4. McCullum and Stokes need to rethink strategy - the gung-ho Bazball approach has been exposed.
  5. Must win = must not lose for me. A point from every game and we will probably survive In view of our difficulties scoring and conceding soft goals I'd take another 1-1
  6. Most relevant sentence from that article "The CEO, who has also come under fire from supporters, also revealed the club have no longstanding or overdue debts. In fact, the club are hopeful of ending the year in profit, based on current forecasts" So, in other words, the prospect of relegation and fans sick with worry don't matter - Waggott will be trousering his bonus on top of his £300,000 plus salary.
  7. India 104-0 in 20. This could get embarrassing
  8. Another horrendous surrender. "England Collapse" should be the England cricket team's official title
  9. Keep taking those pills, matey. They dull the Rovers pain
  10. 37 year old (?) who's been playing alot of games recently and they're probably catching up with him
  11. That's it for me. They don't seem to care The West Brom away game in the last days of JDT's reign was a case in point. The whole lot of them spent 90 minutes jogging around going through the motions Yet put them in front of TV cameras and Premier League opposition and they pull their tripe out As I said last night, they're cheating the club and the fans
  12. Tomasson has been negotiating his exit (and talking to Sweden) since before Christmas according to reports I reckon Rovers had Eustace had lined up from then - hence his swift appointment after JDT left Rather than a panic choice he appears to be a planned appointment....... via Coventry
  13. Total contrast to last Tuesday when every player gave their all for 120 minutes This lot are capable of putting in the effort when they want to but they clearly couldn’t be arsed tonight They’re cheating
  14. He’s had time to make his mark now and I see nothing that justifies his appointment It’s also becoming obvious why Birmingham got rid of him
  15. Why did Ipswich offer £2m for Gallagher - have they never seen him play?
  16. They realised it was a mistake? Harris has got them 2 wins since he returned
  17. Millwall’s boss will have had a look at us that half and be telling his team now that there is nothing to beat Just 5 minutes of pressure and one goal should be enough
  18. 2 poor teams. Where are our 2 goals coming from?
  19. Great decision to let Lewis Travis go - eh what?
  20. Wahlstedt let one in through his fingers at the Den. Right in front of us. I don’t mind him doing that again if the result is the same
  21. Skilful but lacks the pace and physicality to beat defenders at this level. Being small and lightweight is a big problem for him because he doesn't have the aggression or footballing nous to compensate. He's here to fill a shirt - in a decent squad he wouldn't get a look in and would have been released or probably never signed in the first place
  22. It will be long and hard road back next time - whoever is manager. The likes of Dack and Graham were the main factors in getting us up last time and without such talisman players we will probably struggle. Although it's another argument, but seeing as it has been mentioned it cannot be denied that Tomasson is partly to blame for our current predicament. Talking to some Derby fans at the weekend about Paul Warne, their manager. They dislike him with a vengeance, even though he's got them in 2nd place in League One playing what they describe as "Sunday league football". Warne got Rotherham promoted 3 times from L1 but also relegated them twice. I guess some managers, like players, have a natural level and it could well be Eustace will be a success in L1 with his own brand of direct football. We could be out to find out.
  23. Blimey, it was written a bit tongue in cheek and as a talking point for discussion only really but it's coming true sadly.
