  1. Just watched highlights the FA Cup semi-final and you have to say there is no way we are going to win this match Coventry were brilliant, fought every inch of the way from 3-0 down and deserved to win And how on earth is Hyam going to cope with Sims? Rovers 0 Coventry 4
  2. David Moyes on MotD apologised to West Ham fans after their 5-2 defeat at Crystal Palace Has Eustace apologised for the debacle today?
  3. Between them, how many points have Pears and the Swedish lad cost us this season? It must be 10-15 points thrown away through stupid, unforced errors that no professional goalkeeper should make.
  4. Yes we got done on goal difference last season at the top of the table and goal difference could send us down this season. It’s that tight
  5. I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s it for the season now - we won’t get a point from Coventry or Leicester, 49 points is our lot and we will have to rely on the clubs below to be even more inept in order for us to stay up. The win over Leeds was obviously an aberration. The “display” today was that of team of players who, with one of two exceptions, have no hunger for the fight, no pride in the shirt and no pride in the club that pays their wages. They, and the manager, should apologise to long suffering fans who deserve better than what was on show at Ewood today
  6. Just listen to your old Uncle Jim - he’s seen if time and again with Rovers. Wednesday have been in much better form than us and they proved it today. I said on here after the abject defeat away to West Brom that I thought Rovers could easily go down and sadly it’s looking that way. I don’t normally call any game as a “must win” (a draw would have been fine today) but the Coventry match is near as dammit a must win because I don’t think we’ll get any change out of Leicester Today was a disaster for the club there’s no other way of describing it.
  7. Of course. It’s one person’s opinion. Feel free to disagree. No need to get upset
  8. In no particular order of preference Palace, Brentford, Fulham, West Ham, Arsenal, Tottenham, Chelsea, Brighton. Bournemouth etc. Any of them will do.
  9. Come on, they need to win far more than we do. A draw isn’t a bad result at all
  10. Since Eustace took over Rovers have taken 13 points from 13 games including 2 wins IIRC In 13 games in the same period Wednesday have gleaned 21 points from 39, including 6 wins and giving themselves a fighting chance of survival after looking doomed all season. Compared to us that’s good form They will be up for it with the backing of 7000 fans tomorrow so unless we’re in the right frame of mind too and play much better at Ewood than we have been I still don’t see how you “expect” us to win You know how this is going to pan out. We’ll go to Leicester on the last day needing a point at least to stay up
  11. Wednesday are in very good form, the league table is irrelevant. Saying we should expect to win is a bit daft to be honest seeing as we’ve only won 2 since the new manager took over
  12. Words like "legend" are bandied around too easily. If Wilcox was a "legend" how you classify Shearer? Wilcox was a very good player for Rovers and nothing more. Anyone who wants a London team to win anything must have had a strange upbringing. It's a fundamental law of northern football fandom.
  13. Football is a reflection of wider society. Just look around you and think about what's been going on for the past 40 years. The rich do what they want, they make the rules to suit them and the rest have to follow. The rich are getting ever wealthier and more powerful while the poor are left with the crumbs under the table. The Premier League and the big European clubs are is a big part of all this. It's not a surprise.
  14. A London club to win before a northern club? Thunderation and gadzooks, sir. Have you taken leave or your senses?
  15. Derek Underwood RIP He was a unique bowler, accurate, turned the ball sideways at a fair pace, unplayable at times, never seen a player like him That was in the days of uncovered pitches of course; whether he'd be as successful on the modern, flat tracks who knows?
  16. Absolutely staggered by that after the Bristol debacle Will the real Rovers please stand up?
  17. And but for the width of a crossbar we would have lost to Rotherham. The warning signs were there back then
  18. Quite possible but still doesn’t mean the owners will depart. They’re rich and they’re arrogant and we’re just pawns in their vast empire.
  19. Don’t understand this. Why would they leave if we went down? Why would one automatically lead to the other? Relegation is the worst thing that could happen.
  20. I don’t understand this. As fans we do not deserve to be relegated. We’ve suffered enough. The players and managers deserve an almighty bollocking from the CEO (which won’t happen obviously) but fans deserve better. Much better
  21. Decided not to go in the end. Best decision I’ve made in a while. Agree about the Wednesday match but I’ve a feeling it will go to the last game with us needing at least a point against Leicester to stay up
  22. Totally unacceptable result and performance. The manager and the players should apologise to the fans who made a long journey to watch that capitulation.
  23. And there’s the 5th to complete the humiliation. Assuming we lose to Leeds the Sheffield Wednesday game is taking on monumental proportions Based on tonight’s showing we’ll lose that too
  24. A 4-0 defeat at Ashton Gate is a "result", albeit a bad one. Still contemplating going to this, but the thought of a weary 4-hour battle each way on the M6 and M5 doesn't appeal.
