  1. Cheaper tickets, not just in certain areas. Tinkering around the edges sums it up well if that is all that is even considered.
  2. Broughton said what he would recommend to do but didn't come close to saying that it is likely to happen. I'm sure he is as aware as anyone that it is unlikely.
  3. Any sane person would suggest reinvesting in those areas. I think Broughton's intentions are obvious and I am sure are genuine even if I doubt he would be the best person to achieve those. But its irrelevant because we know it almost certainly wont happen. Why would Venkys owned Rovers suddenly turn into a normal, logical football club?
  4. He might not get in the team if Tronstad and Rankin Costello are both fit, which is a big if with the latter who is also needed in other positions. The supposed talk about him being disruptive was mentioned specifically that he wasnt playing the position he wanted in defensive midfield, when he did play he was expected to play further forward whereas Eustace is a lot more conservative. When he did play, it was often at full back. But I suspect there was a personal issue between Tomasson and Travis hence why he wasnt even selected in favour of Garrett, and also Wharton was here. Plus a clear financial motive to push him out. We need to get out of this habit of going, he wouldnt make our best team if everyone was fit so let him move on. He would get plenty of game time here even if we regularly had a fully fit squad.
  5. Broughton isnt the first to talk about reinvesting transfer proceeds and trying to emulate clubs like Brentford and Brighton. Nice ideas but thats all they are working for Venkys. We have never threatened to operate with such efficiency under them, they turn down bids in favour of letting contracts run down and have regular spells where the taps are turned off, with occasional sporadic spending unconnected to sales. So why would that change now when they are at peak levels of disinterest and still not rid of further red tape caused by their wrongdoings?
  6. Its bang average, maybe slightly below, a standard season when he plays a reasonable season is 8 or 9. Plus he gives us other parts to his game which maybe are helping the attacking players he plays with get the goal returns they have got. Obviously there are other considerations noticeably wages and injury issues. But from a purely footballing position, unless we get 2 new competent strikers at this level as a minimum in the summer, which isnt easy under competent owners, then we need him.
  7. He is our only Championship standard. And he is Championship standard, he has proven it over a number of years. Certainly not a very good Championship striker or a prolific one and he never will be, but an average one. Take points about his injury record, but even signing one striker this summer is a task, if we even have any money. Let Gallagher go and we need 2. Surely we have learnt this season that we need 2 players for each position.
  8. We have such a small pool of first team Championship standard players, and have suffered with the small squad all season as a result of the budget cuts. I can't get my head around people encouraging selling the ones we do have, even if people wouldn't start them if everyone was fit. Travis is more useful than Buckley, but getting rid of either only cuts us down further.
  9. Even if he did get a goal somehow, I don't think it would set off a run. I don't see any redeeming features in him, we did get him from the German 4th division to be fair and I can see why both managers this season have only used him when absolutely necessary.
  10. 2 clean sheets and 2 goals conceded in the last 4 is much, much better. Problem is in 3 of those games, we failed to score ourselves.
  11. I hope United go for Southgate. Continue their woes and help England too.
  12. Why are the sky games on Sunday at such random times recently? Not much thought given to the Forest fans travelling to London.
  13. If he is happy with the 2 keepers then he hasnt been watching properly. That being said, with both signing contracts this year and the Wharton funds disappearing, he may have to pretend he is.
  14. We could have brought on Telalovic to make an impact. He never has before, but still.
  15. It wont be down to Broughton most likely because the issue is usually taken out out of staff members hands. I would be amazed if we spent £10m plus further sales, absolutely amazed.
  16. His decision making in the final third is still really poor and he struggles to impact games. Yesterday he impressed mainly for what he did off the ball, the whole team were very good off the ball led by the front 4 but Markanday in particular did some excellent work going back. I still remain massively unconvinced that he is up to standard at this level but I was impressed yesterday.
  17. The change in tact here was always predictable as the same happened post Mowbray. Just an echo chamber for what is said from the club, an example being that Eustace is claiming the Stoke win because he said so.
  18. The actual bar for staying up might be above average. But whoever came in post Tomasson needed less than a point per game to get to 50 points due to the points we had already accumulated so yes, a low bar.
  19. Exactly, and thats why Nixon is doing his usual routine of naming a new team a week from that category to fill his column whilst the transfer window is closed in anticipation of the window so that when he goes to one of the many teams hes linked with, he can arrogantly pat himself on the back.
  20. Tomasson like Eustace would have had to get less than a point a game to get to 50 points. Im not sure that Tomasson would have kept us up but obviously there was a lot of baggage there with him clearly and understandably having the hump having been seriously let down by the owners, that situation had become untenable. So any new manager wouldnt have that baggage. But even relegation form over these last 15 games under Eustace can keep us up which means that it isnt that impressive IMO. Especially with the returning players.
  21. I am saying that a point in a game described as "must not lose" coupled with a very hard game at Leeds that I think will be a struggle could see other teams make serious ground on us.
  22. Those backups bar Carter are not the equal of our starters. Why will Preston roll over? Are they in the conspiracy that sees referees biased against us. Failure to win plus assuming we lose at Leeds could see us dangerously close come Saturday evening next week with only 3 games to go.
  23. Hes going through a different team a week in typical Nixon fashion. If he does go, he wont be replaced so relegation will be inevitable.
  24. Commendable? Thats strong considering we have less than 1 point per game. You can spin either the lack of wins (only 1) or the lack of losses (only 3) but its points that are important and in that regard, picking up points at the rate we have across a season would send you down in most seasons. I appreciate that he picked us up in terrible form and I know how keen you are you to go against Tomasson so I feel that you are naturally more inclined to big up the post Tomasson era because you are biased against him, and that whole situation had become toxic. But it doesnt mean that the results under Eustace are commendable. We should get over the line but had he taken us down, which he might but its unlikely now I think, it would have taken a horrendously bad set of results to do so that would have been barely precedented because of the buffer we had due to the points accumulated in the first few months. There are certainly green shoots coming through now and signs of improvement to suggest that going forward, the side can get better under him. We have only scored (admittedly 5) in one of the last 4 games in which we all seem to agree have shown noticeable improvement even though we are playing better. Leeds have the best squad at this level and I would probably suggest that Leicester have at least as good a squad as Southampton.
  25. With Tomasson, I think our results may have picked up when players came back as they have under Eustace. Had he stayed and not kept us up, the whole thing had massively soured and he was not hiding how unhappy he was which probably didnt help the dressing room. Like I said, I felt that him going as a standalone issue aside from the real issues was a good thing. But whoever came in without the baggage that Tomasson had having been let down and the public mess that had unfolded, the task of keeping us up baring in mind that 50 points required less than a point a game and with returning players was not a really difficult one even allowing for the form we were in at the time.
