  1. If you are going to panic, you panic when a manager shows he is clearly incapable of getting results and is taking you down. The sensible thing to do would be to get Warnock in for 6 games and then reassess.
  2. 5 points from 11 games doesnt scream more time warranted.
  3. He was good today, Hedges was very good, both a surprise considering we were supposedly playing with 9 with them starting. That front 4 are our only 4 attacking players that are capable at this level. Ideally we would have those 4 and then 3 or 4 more signed in to compete. Wont happen.
  4. Surely whoever would have come on to replace him also "wanted to come on" so that bizarre argument is invalidated.
  5. Against Boro we were solid but offered minimal threat so wouldnt have that as excellent, nor v Ipswich. But even then, it wouldnt be throughout his time here. Today, no doubt.
  6. His results overall have not been good enough even allowing for the excuses he professes not to want to use. And I dont agree that performances have been excellent up before today as he said post match. But fair play today, we were set up really well, we pressed well and the result was fantastic so hopefully its a springboard.
  7. You arent top of the league luckily at this stage of the season.
  8. Fantastic performance and result that has come from nowhere really and puts us in a really strong position to scramble over the line to survive. One more win and a draw or 2 and we are there. Eustace said the performances have been excellent throughout his time, a blatant lie but today we were outstanding and he deserves credit for it. We were a threat everytime we went forward, that front 4 has not played all season in those positions together but they are the only 4 attackers we know are up to it, even if they have their limitations. Szmodics obviously we are so reliant on, Hedges has always been a good player but one that needs to do more in terms of goals and assists and was brilliant today and Gallagher and Dolan showed that even though neither are world beaters and both are inconsistent, if either leaves for free it leaves a big hole. Dolan should cut down on the needless flicks but his end product was good today and he was full of energy and Gallagher belied the fact that hes been ill, we are better with him in the team. Rankin Costello for me was man of the match, he is our most complete player and was brilliant next to Tronstad who was solid. The centre backs were very good, Brittain was fine and Chrisene adjusted to the game very impressively. Was a shame we couldnt get a clean sheet and I thought that Szmodics should have been rested for bigger games ahead. The idea that he wanted to stay on, obviously any player wants to play but thats irrelevant. Fingers crossed he seemed to get through unscathed.
  9. You also implied the other week that Broughton was on gardening leave. Avoided all follow up questions to keep it nice and cryptic but there we go.
  10. I dont doubt that he wants us to do well as a supporter but many players who leave clubs say they will be back.
  11. If we went down any sensible club would make a change. Here he will see out his contract regardless. Of course some managers could prevent a side in 17th with was it a 7 point buffer with a third of the season left from going down.
  12. Its easy to say to remain calm but we are watching a set of players that have won 1 in nearly 20 games trying to prevent us from getting relegated in crucial games under a manager that hasnt won yet. Its natural to be nervous, yet the fans have been supportive of the players throughout.
  13. 3 defeats in 9 is not a sign of much progress if you havent won a single game. 2 points every 3 games is relegation form and would average out at 30 or 31 over a season.
  14. @J*B you say that the team is underfunded. It is, but how can you put that at the door of Waggott? Match day experience/ticket prices are undoubtedly areas in which he is out of his depth in, he is a clown, but are they the reason we are underfunded? In the last 3 seasons, we have sold Armstrong, Kaminski and Wharton amongst others for £40m. Added to that, the owners turned down £12m for Brereton and Rothwell. That is over £50m of potential money to reinvest. In that time, we have spent £5m. FFP doesn't come into it, and even with a competent CEO that adds 2 or 3 thousand to the gate, it pales into significance. Don't get me wrong, he is a problem because hes hopeless at his job. Mind you, even if he was THE problem, that would still go back to the owners who clearly feel heis doing a good job. But stick in a good CEO and looking at the figures I mentioned above, anyone would be pissing in the wind. You also say about the owners "if they shut up, sent us money and kept their noses out" then things could work out. The biggest if ever! Like saying if Waggott improved match day experiences and overhauled ticketing. Wont happen.
  15. The fact of the matter is that the overall accuracy of decisions increases considerably with VAR. More than an influx of former footballers (even if such a pool of willing officials existed) ever could. It isnt perfect (nor could anything ever) be but the idea that anyone would reject it because accuracy isnt 100% even though it is still much higher than without is totally illogical. I get to an extent if people say they would prefer without, accept mistakes as talking points and ensure the delays are removed. Its one of them, either accept that mistakes will be made in favour of keeping the game pure, or strive to get accuracy as high as possible and bring in VAR. Talk of other improvements feels like a deckchairs and titanic situation.
  16. I dont recall any bids for Brereton mid season. Just the ones including from Nice in the summer when Tomasson came in.
  17. Complain about the numerous errors without VAR but wont have VAR because it doesnt have a 100% accuracy. What sort of warped logic is that. Ex footballers has always been a wishy washy suggestion but firstly you need enough willing officials to come from that source, and would having ex amateur players make any difference anyway? Just because they played part time.
  18. Denial of a goalscoring opportunity surely. The double jeopardy rule only counts if a genuine attempt is made to play the ball.
  19. The club was shambolic before Waggott arrived. No doubt he isnt fit for purpose but THE issue is, has been and always will be Venkys. The hot air about Venkys has been said by everyone, just stabilising his job. For example they refused to fund the pitch relaying that was needed so its not true. He is clearly doing what the owners want him to do hence why he has a job for as long as he wants. On Brereton and Rothwell, it was widely reported that the owners wouldnt sell the former and publically stated by Mowbray regarding the latter. Anyone clinging onto the hope that once Waggott goes the problems will go is deluding themselves.
  20. I dont think you can be making a 12m gamble when those funds would be so useful and substantial. The Brereton bids were before the season had started so thats no excuse. We wouldnt spend 8m on a loan for a season. And the Rothwell bid was one the owners went against the manager on. And there is also the 15m sale that was never spent. So Mowbray had left us with sellable assets. One the owners pocketed, the other 2 the owners declined.
  21. Again, arguably the biggest error in terms of the impact it would have had on the game was a red card to Brittain and a penalty.
  22. I dont think its ever been specifically confirmed why we didnt tie them down. The owners may well have suspended funding due to covid. I dont know. But either way. 15m player sold, 12m further bids declined by the owners. Thats a lot of money to reinvest if we were run possibly from Mowbray signings and far from a mess inherited.
