  1. I very much doubt it will be their decision! We also bought a Swedish full international called Leo!!!
  2. Any prospective buyer of Rovers would want the club for nowt and debt free. Venky's face a huge write-off when they relinquish the club either voluntarily or through insolvency. Just consider this - for starters, any new owner would need circa £30/40million in working capital just to keep the show on the road! The only way Venky's were going to recover sizeable chunks of their investment was for Rovers to get back to the PL. Sadly, that ship sailed and Venky's failed to jump on board on more than one occasion. Would think Venky's are now close to tipping point as not only are they continuing to flush £20million per year down the sh1tter but the aggravation factor is growing rapidly with scrutiny / process from the Indian authorities. Sadly, our future looks as bleak as today's horrible weather.
  3. Re @glen9mullanposting, make no mistake, the football club is well and truly hooked in here Should be noted that personal guarantees, usually directors' personal guarantees, are in the main only pursued by lenders when all other options have failed to generate sufficient funds to repay capital and pay interest which in commercial lending situations generally includes default penalties
  4. Think some clarity needed here. If personal guarantees are in place then the borrowing has been undertaken by a company - presumably either The Blackburn Rovers Football and Athletic Club (despite what Waggott told you) or Venky's London Limited. No doubt it will be a belt and braces job in terms of security - debenture, cross company guarantees and personal guarantees.
  5. We all know Rovers need signings Chaddy, some feckin quality signings. The reality is, IMO, we are in the financial knackers' yard. Think Rovers paying any transfer fees in the forseeable will be as rare as rocking horse sh1t.
  6. Think this thread might as well be closed. Can anyone really see our owners now signing off on ANY transfer fee to be paid? Think the direction from India will be sell what you can and continue to substantially cut the wage bill all with the objective of minimising any additional funding, that's if the Indian authorities were to allow it! Player sales might just get us through to the end of the season and then, if not before, our fate will be firmly in the lap of the Gods.
  7. All of this, yet again, IMO, simply underlines in huge bold capital letters that our owners and Waggott can neither be trusted nor believed. A desperately sad state of affairs.
  8. Generally speaking, the Rovers' fan base in an apathetic lot. Over 50 years ago, there would be very aggressive and vocal protests in Nuttall Street outside the main entrance if fans weren't happy - the then directors hated it and certainly felt the pressure and more often than not reacted. Even when Glen and co really went for it in the Kean era, they didn't get the support they needed as many either sat on their hands or buried their heads in the sand. Sadly, too many embrace our owners, naively unaware of just what the feck is going on and the damage that has been done and is being done. One can only hope the beginning of the end is at last underway.
  9. I would expect Rovers to issue a statement tomorrow. They can't bury their heads in the sand - the genie is out of the bottle. Season ticket holders, fans and club employees have a right to know what is going on - failure to do so will only lead to wild and possibly damaging speculation and the further alienation of an already alienated fan base. It's reminiscent of the 'sell Brockhall' fiasco - they were found out and were forced to react.
  10. Personally, I would not trust Waggott as far as I can spit. Anything he says I would take with a pinch of salt.
  11. IMO, it stinks. Either our local media are asleep at the wheel, which wouldn't be a surprise, or they have been asked not to report on this issue for obvious reasons. Also, surprised at Glen's comments tonight as he would usually be banging the drum on an issue like this - I cannot recall a single posting on this MB on this issue since April last year. Year end accounts (to 30 June 2023) for The Blackburn Rovers Football and Athletic Limited are due to be filed by 31 March 2024 - think the Auditors' Report, in particular their conclusions to going concern, will make fascinating reading given this issue from April 2023 which has now come to light and all the other ongoing stuff with the Indian courts / authorities.
  12. Melodrama? Guess you aren't old enough to remember the playing chaos we had under Iley. You will certainly remember Coyle. Are you telling me, given some of your recent scathing comments about Rovers, that some of our recent shambles have not been at an Iley/Coyle level or even worse!?
  13. Coyle the clown got Burnley promoted to the PL which is more than any clowns have achieved at Rovers since we were last relegated from the PL! It's down to JDT not to sign or select players who consistently make mistakes, don't mark correctly or can't catch the ball!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. Wasn't Broughton also 'feeding O'Brien' (his words or similar) in Manchester's finest instead of hot footing it back to Brockhall / Ewood to ensure all tickety boo ?!?
  15. and that is down to JDT and his 4 stooges!!! They pick the players, pick the formation, choose a style of play, do the coaching and motivate, or otherwise, the players. We are a bigger mess than a Coyle Rovers' eleven or a Jim Iley Rovers' eleven and that's saying something!!!
  16. Great signing for them - will 'mix up' their playing pattern, possession and directness.
  17. He signed that new contract because he would have been an idiot not to! Who would turn down longer term security and a bigger wage!?!? If a bid for Sammie ticks the box for our owners then he will be out the door irrespective of any new contract. It really is that simple. I will be very pleasantly surprised if he is still with us on 1 Feb.
  18. Always a danger of papering over the cracks. Give JDT the Huddersfield game, we scrape a win and then what next? My reading of the situation - JDT's relationship is fractured beyond repair with Waggott and most probably Broughton. JDT's decision making now reeks of stubbornness resentment and anger though couched in his affable way. Think the relationship between JDT and players has also gone. The fight on the field has gone. This can only end one way. IMO, our owners, Waggott and Broughton have made a real pig's ear of this and that is where the blame lies.
  19. Please enlighten us. JDT has four coaches assisting - Remy, Lowe, Benson and Johnson. Just wtf do they do? Whatever it is, it clearly isn't working. Think dressing room has been lost.
  20. You would think our goalkeeping 'expert' coach Ben Benson would have signed-off on this! Think it's been clear for a few matches now - JDT has most likely lost the dressing room. JDT needs to go now before his reputation is in absolute tatters. Haven't a feckin clue just what Remy, Lowe, Benson and Johnson do. Performances and results suggest, to me, they are all a bunch of tossers who need sacking.
  21. We've had some feckin bad ones but I can't recall one of those 'bad uns' who made a mistake costing at least a goal every match. The lad needs taking out for his own good before his confidence his shot for ever. Some rave about Benson our goalie coach - I think he's in his early thirties, a lot younger than some notable goalies still playing - so put the fecker in our team and lets see how it goes.

  23. Agree with much of this but really feel JDT is aboard a sinking ship at the moment and it's difficult to see how his reputation doesn't suffer unless he jumps off! Prospective employers look at the results' board which is at rock bottom at the moment and has been for some little time.
