Fans Friendly Squad

  1. I will start the first and much anticipated game of the season off. Whats folk thinking. Team selection ? Score prediction ? Attendence figure ?
  2. They might a non-league opposition, but I couldn't be more excited for this one. First game with fans for Rovers since the whole thing began. Sold out the allocation within 48 hours which is ace! Thought it was apt we have a proper match thread. Seemingly we'll be playing in a kit that won't be sold to fans, but they will be doing a prize draw for season ticket holders to win the signed, match worn strips. Negative COVID tests needed, but normality is on the way!
  3. Hi follow Rovers fans, I don't know if I'm allowed to sell Rovers goods on here. Up for sale is a unique Blackburn Rovers 5ft x 3ft Custom made St George flag. Purchased earlier this year from footballflags.co.uk Cost £52.00. Top quality fabric. Has small loops on all four corners for tying down. Ideal for Rovers away days or just hanging out the window. Just purchased bigger flag, hence sale. Comes with drawstring bag. £35.00 + £3.35 Royal Mail 1st class post.
  4. Hi Folks Can you tell me if it is possible to get the first train back to Blackburn from Mill Hill after the game or is it a bit of a scrum? We need to get back to Preston ASAP after the game and was toying with the idea of a taxi? Cheers
  5. Ahead of the fixtures being announced next week: A thread, based on the fixtures released today by the Premier League for Burnley What we can safely assume: 7th August 2021 - Opening Round of fixtures - Home (as Burnley are at home 14th August, meaning Rovers likely away) 26th December 2021 - Boxing Day - Away (Burnley home) 1st January 2022 - New Years Day - Home (Burnley away) 14-18th April 2022 - Easter Weekend - Home and Away (this has been the trend in recent years, with Good Friday and Easter Monday - Burnley away) 7th/8th May 2022 - Last Fixture of the season - Away (Burnley home) 29th May 2022 - Playoff Final - Wembley (For those optimists! 😁)

  7. The much loved International Break is upon us . . . So what better time than to start a new England thread . . .especially since it also signifies the start of some kind of new International Carabao Cup . . or something. . . See what the heck that is here and only waste 1min 38secs of your life in the process. It's also got it's very own anthem to rival any God of War Playstation game. I see Southgate was bemoaning the lack of English players in the Premiership the other day. Things look pretty grim for the supposed 'new golden generation'. I suspect most of the kids that played in and won the under-age International tournaments recently will simply fall by the wayside. Case in point, the article states that Ruben Loftus-Cheek has only played 22 competitive minutes for Chelsea since the world cup (and since the article was written - he only played 11 minutes more as a sub vs Bournemouth at home). If you're only getting 11 minutes when you're playing at home against one of the 'weak' teams in the Premiership. . . it doesn't bode well for the future. Southgate says he'll have to look to The Championship for England players. So as long as the expected Northern Winter kicks in and the BBQ has to go away until June - what chances Bradley Dack making the squad in the not too distant future? I see sicknote has already pulled out of the squad. Probably the usual lies by the usual foreign England hating managers. A bad back is a great one to use if you want to skive off work btw as even doctors can't prove or disprove it. So the revised England squad for the Water buffalo league with a bizarre nondescript friendly thrown into the mix is: Goalkeepers: Jack Butland (Stoke), Jordan Pickford (Everton), Alex McCarthy (Southampton) Defenders: Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool), Fabian Delph (Manchester City), Joe Gomez (Liverpool), Harry Maguire (Leicester City) Danny Rose (Tottenham Hotspur), Luke Shaw (Manchester United), John Stones (Manchester City), James Tarkowski (Burnley), Kieran Trippier (Tottenham Hotspur), Kyle Walker (Manchester City) Midfielders: Dele Alli (Tottenham Hotspur), Eric Dier (Tottenham Hotspur), Jordan Henderson (Liverpool), Adam Lallana (Liverpool), Jesse Lingard (Manchester United), Ruben Loftus-Cheek (Chelsea) Forwards: Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur), Marcus Rashford (Manchester United), Danny Welbeck (Arsenal) Are you getting excited yet? Or will you simply be spending all your time trolling Twitter and Instagram looking for pictures of Sterling riding a show pony?
  8. I know a lot of us don’t care. But we really do care, we don’t stop supporting our club, just because x owns the club, or x manages the club. Also, Mowbray’s future doesn’t come down to this one game. I always want the Rovers to win... and I don’t want to see Rovers passed on the table by Forest or Coventry. Arma scores the 1st goal, his final goal in the blue & white. Gally gives us something to think about (his future with the club), as he scores the winner. 2-1, Rovers.
  9. I'm going rogue here I want Rotherham to win. I want Derby to go down and Mowbray doesn't deserve any pointless end of season gloss. I don't even feel guilty Having said that we will probably beat them 4-0
  10. So I was just reminded that we have a game tomorrow whilst listening to a couple of Town fans talking outside the chippy in Brighouse. I told them not to worry too much. As for Rovers, well what can I say that hasn’t already been said. A dead rubber of a game that will see us giving the squad a rotation. Can’t get too excited so not expecting too many responses to this thread.
  11. Very early thread - although proper match threads are no longer a thing - but with Prince Philip’s funeral now arranged, oddly, next Saturday at 3pm I’m wondering if the kick off time will change.
  12. ...as Rovers are presently on the Skids...should anyone want to post anything about the game...here’s the thread...
  13. The "Journey" continues on Friday away at Wycombe 3PM KO. Will TM's player tombolo throw up one or two surprises? Kaminski 25/1 to start Centre Forward on skybet C'mon TM charge that Sat Nav up and put some directions in towards the end of the journey avoiding roundabouts. COYB
  14. I suppose we should start talking about this one now... Something about Roger Jones, John Bond, Ted MacDougall, Phil Boyer #OnesForTheTeenagers
  15. Has this been postponed due to lack of interest? If it is going ahead, are we red button/ifollow, not sure I want to pay another tenner. Nothing to play for, sad BD news, still TM in situ, but in brighter news one game closer to season end. I'd quite like a morale boosting win, but not at the expense of the tombola and his dodgy mates going sometime soon. I think we might get panned on Saturday.
  16. Rovers gave me a win on my 59th birthday Vs Lions, and a point vs high-flying Swans, mid-week. This ol’ Texan will take a stab at predicting the 11... Same as the last two outings. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it! Arte et Labore, c’mon, you Blues! 2-1.
  17. what would people team been? my team would be Kaminski JRC Lenihan Harwood-Bellis Douglas Buckley Trybull Dack Dolan Gallagher Brereton
  18. 5th v 15th. Didn't realise we were on Sky till today, so a tenner saved. god only knows what the lotto will bring up. Having watched all of the previous six games, one point, and a significant amount spent on ifollow, and drink, my expectations are at rock bottom. I suppose that's where we are. Anything at the moment is a bonus. We really are in freefall under the Coventry cabal, no passion, folk out of position, talks bollocks, and we could be in danger of a relegation battle. All to play for....but will we under this clown?
  19. Apologies if someone else was lined up to start this thread. So,let's start with: March 24th 2012 - Bolton 2 v 1 Rovers April 2nd 2012 - Rovers 0 - 2 Man Utd April 7th 2012 - WBA 3 - 0 Rovers April 10th 2012 - Rovers 2 - 3 Liverpool April 14th 2012 - Swansea 3 - 0 Rovers The last time we lost 5 on the bounce, according to the lancs live. Mowbray now has to mastermind a win or draw against 3rd placed Watford in order to avoid joining the same club as Steve K**n in going 5 losses in a row. Confidence must be at an all time low and I can't see anything other than a comfortable defeat. Gallagher and Nyambe will be missing, not sure about Lenihan. Formation and lineup is changed probably daily by Mowbray, so who knows who will start or in what formation. I'm thinking we might even get done 0-3. Anyone feeling more positive?
  20. So, silence speaks volumes. 1320 on a Friday & no match thread. Will anyone be watching? Think I might, in some sort of sick perverted, self torture kind of way. Expect the same crap as the last few matches. Mowbray Out
  21. Enthusiasm, excitement... hope? It’s telling when I am needed to start the match thread! With settled teams often the most successful, TM will be reaching for his selection lottery machine. Heaven knows what the starting XI will be. Tea-lady might be in with a shout for right back, if they haven’t been furloughed. We tend to nick a result when it’s all doom and gloom, but I can’t see past a draw which TM will be brimming with pride over, despite the calamitous late equaliser. My one hope is that Dolan gets a run, our young ‘stars’ need game time to kick on. Presume the match will be on the red button, though iFollow gets the nod on quality.
