    Happy Kean Out Day

7 years to the day since the imposter left, as we continue to endure his rotten legacy. Well done and thanks to the “1%” who never gave up fighting and maintained the conditions which ultimately forced him out. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/19736471 https://amp.theguardian.com/football/2012/sep/28/steve-kean-resign-blackburn-rovers We won’t be rid of his stench until we are back in the PL but having worried that he would never go, the relief on 29th September 2012 was palpable. Never forgive, never forget.

    Back to Ewood

So looks like theres no away days next season... and huge competition over seats. Do we know if the club will prioritise season ticket holders or they getting shafted? https://fanbanter.co.uk/the-number-of-fans-who-could-be-let-into-efl-stadiums-next-season/

  7. Just to let you all know that BRFCS has funded two VIP fan cutouts to take their place around the Ewood Park dugout tomorrow. One has been funded by BRFCS on behalf of all our members & the other has been funded by BRFCS staff. The two VIP cut outs, have been donated to https://www.blackburnyz.org & will be debuting tomorrow. Blackburn Youth Zone is a fantastic local charity supporting children across the region. The cutouts will display two of their members and be given to them, signed by the squad, at the end of the season. Let’s hope that they bring us some luck during the run in...👍🏻
  8. One of the Holy Trinity, with Dunny and Duffy http://www.polarispublishing.com/book/matt_jansen What do you do when the world is at your feet . . . and then suddenly it isn’t? Matt Jansen had it all. He was young, quick, audaciously skilful and, at the turn of the millennium, regarded as one of the most intelligent attacking talents in English football. His potential seemed boundless. After bursting onto the scene with Carlisle in 1997 and helping his hometown club win promotion, Sir Alex Ferguson had tried to lure him to Old Trafford – but foreseeing only a bench spot at United, Jansen instead opted for Steve Coppell’s Crystal Palace. In 1998, he moved to Blackburn, and after blasting them back to the Premier League he earned a place in Sven Goran-Eriksson’s England squad on the back of a 16-goal season that included a strike in the final of the League Cup, which Blackburn won. At 24 Jansen was widely tipped to be part of England’s squad at the 2002 World Cup in South Korea and Japan, but Eriksson instead surprised many with his conservative selection of Martin Keown over the rising star; Keown wouldn’t play a single minute at the tournament and England would crash out to ten-man Brazil – but Jansen didn’t see a minute of it. While England battled it out in the Far East, Jansen had taken a holiday to Rome where he was involved a serious traffic accident. He suffered a brain haemorrhage and slipped into a six-day coma. Jansen survived and, astonishingly, he was back playing for Blackburn just four months later. But while his body may have recovered, his mind had not. In the shadow of the accident, he was unable to recapture the instinctive genius or the bullet-proof self-confidence that had previously defined him. This was a hidden breakdown – nothing that could be picked up by a fitness test or fixed on an operating table. As Jansen’s career as an elite footballer slipped away from him, he started to discover more about what had happened to him and how he could recover not only as an athlete, but as a person. This is the story of a career destined for the stratosphere, cruelly snatched away by the vagaries of fate. Brilliant, bold, and at times brutal in its honesty, this powerful tale of shattered dreams and a life rebuilt is a testament to an inspiring, unconquered soul.
  9. https://twitter.com/SwissRamble/status/1003542814293143552 Thought I'd share that the ever excellent Swiss Ramble posted a Twitter thread covering Rovers' latest accounts. He does an excellent job of distilling club accounts into easy to digest charts and figures. Enjoy the always rather grim reading! (If there being a slight glimmer of hope now!)

    Jim Fryatt

Can’t see this mentioned anywhere, but Jim Fryatt died on Friday in Las Vegas ( believe it or not). The older fans will remember him for his sideburns, his amazing heading of a ball and the goal he scored against a brilliant Man City side at Ewood in front of the last 40,000 (43,000 actually) gate at Ewood. https://www.oldhamathletic.co.uk/news/2020/june/05062020-jim-fryatt-passes-away/

If any of our esteemed female members or indeed to avoid allegations of inequality, I have a signed Rovers female shirt, free of charge for anyone interested. Let me know.
  20. Looks as though the LT has taken the decision to set up a paywall for online access, moving away from the ad-driven model. Such a poor quality rag, it will have to seriously up its game in terms of, y’know, actual news if it wants to stay in business. Maybe replace ‘reporters’ with proper journalists, who knows... First they took the journalism out of the newspaper, then the newspaper out of the town, now they are taking the entire brand. I won’t by that Newsquest Manc rubbish in print, I certainly won’t be paying for it as pixels - especially in the era of the great GDPR con. Blackburn’s “news” managed from Bolton! RIP Lancashire (Evening) Telegraph. Keeping Blackburn folk in the dark since May 2000 and now locked out. P.S. Did you spot it? Your £5 per month will get you “advert light” content. Not ad-free, ad-light!!

    Shearers signed my Shirt

I contacted Alan Shearer via twitter and he agreed to sign my shirt for me, im over the moon. I’m in Ireland so posted it to the UK with a return envelope and I had it back inside a week. He came across as a really nice guy, even sent me this emoji in a message when I thanked him on twitter for the memories and the goals 🙋‍♂️ Lol
