  1. Just flagging this one up because it's an important game and one I'm looking forward to for personal reasons Sky just announced Steve Bruce is in advanced negotiations to take over as manager after the sacking of Ismael New manager bounce for the Baggies and return to Hawthorns for Mowbray Much to talk about
  2. David Bentley's famous hat-trick and Shearer the one-man strikeforce! Relive the memorable events which happened on this day here: https://www.brfcs.com/magazine/articles/on-this-day:-1st-february/167
  3. Rovers have agreed a deal with Aberdeen's Ryan Hedges https://www.scottishdailyexpress.co.uk/sport/football/ryan-hedges-join-blackburn-rovers-26077476
  4. Rovers would prefer to pursue a pre-contract agreement with the view of Hedges joining in the summer than signing him in the January transfer window https://www.lancs.live/sport/football/transfer-news/blackburn-rovers-hedges-aberdeen-interest-22125275
  5. In Friday’s Torygraph…apparently Rich Sharpe & me were the main sources….oh & some kid called Buckley…😉
  6. 13th January seems lucky for Rovers (most of the time!) Check out what happened on this day in history: https://www.brfcs.com/magazine/articles/on-this-day:-13th-january/153 Also, post any suggestions below for other dates of the year and we'll try to do a few more of these articles if they're of interest.
  7. Shebby Singh passes away. Thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. Certainly a big part to play in the history of Blackburn Rovers. (At least short term history)
  8. Interesting article published below about the FA Cup record holders for Rovers. Includes the Top 10 players in each category. Always difficult to compile such lists so any corrections are welcomed! https://www.brfcs.com/magazine/articles/record-appearances-and-goals-in-the-fa-cup/152
  9. It's nearly a couple of months now since BRFCS.com was relaunched, to coincide with the start of the new season. Rovers survived transfer deadline day without any signings and we survived the busiest day yet since we took over without any outages ... I think we win that one. Looking at the stats that we have available it's clear that most users have the forum part of the site bookmarked and drop straight in on the forum without visiting the front page, and to be fair that's what we expected but it does mean you might miss some of the stuff on the front page so here's a little summary. Every Friday we post a collection of the *ahem* best tweets of the week, mostly amusing but some are touching or uplifting. Here's last weeks This Week on Twitter, Delap's Derbies have made their way from Twitter to BRFCS, the amazing Blackburn Roverseas has returned with his fantastic match previews and more on Youtube. There's also the Match Center where you can see the upcoming fixtures and past results. The individual games have team sheets, match time lines, past meetings between the clubs and scores from all the other games that effect Rovers. We're launching a new feature here before the Luton game ... 12 shiny internet points for anyone who can guess what it is.
  10. This sounds like an excellent incentive to tie some of our want to be out wannabes. https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/17145803/blackburn-venky-spromotion-bonus-premier-league-championship
  11. Living on Nuttall street and all residents recieved notice that a 3 day music festival will take place from the 29th of may at Ewood park.
  12. Glad tidings to all Rovers supporters and their families - we may have differing views and opinions but we have at heart our fabulous club BRFC⚽️ May the New Year bring us the joy we all crave👍🍺
  13. We'll be live from The Avenue Hotel in Brockhall Village on December 22nd 2021 with a Christmas Charity Special, raising funds for the Sporting Memories Foundation. Special guests making video appearances include Simon Garner, Colin Hendry, Derek Fazackerley, Ben Brereton Díaz, Don Mackay, Jan Paul van Hecke, John Buckley, Chris Sutton, Elliott Bennett, Hayden Carter, Charlie Mulgrew, David May, Mick Rathbone & more! There'll be prizes for fans to win with 3x Quizzes to partake in on the night, as well as a live catch up with Rich Sharpe and Jaquob Crooke who'll discuss the January Transfer Window. All proceeds raised on the night will go to the Sporting Memories Foundation and we'll even have some BRFCS features on the programme. The full & final line up and all details will be revealed in the following weeks. Thanks for your support.
  14. 20 Rovers VHS Tapes from Season 1990-91 onwards, including Champions Season 1994-95 and the Worthington Cup Final double tape. Will sell as a ‘job lot’ for £2 each plus either a postage fee or my own ‘petrol’ fee of £10 to anywhere in Lancashire. Ie, £50 if I deliver or £40 plus postage if a courier is used. I have seen some of these on eBay for as much as £10 each, so fill yer boots.
  15. This is my fifth season following Rovers. Been a fan since meeting and talking with the legend that is Brad Friedel at a camp for my nephew. He was such a genuine guy and when he talked about playing here, I could tell how much it meant to him. After that I started to dive into our history, watched old clips, etc and am currently loving our season right now, hope can keep it up. I work in the local school system, am lover of all things beer related, and looking to contribute as much as I can, Cheers.
  16. The Football Supporters Association is calling for fans to counteract the actions of football club chairmen & owners who are lobbying against the proposals in the report. Read the Fan Led Review Document Read our article on how you can help In a nutshell the proposals cover the following areas: Governance: an independent regulator for football (IREF) which has the necessary investigative and enforcement powers needed to prevent the recurrence of such developments as the European Super League. Finance: football’s model is unsustainable with too many clubs making losses. Pre-emptive action is needed and a regulator will impose stronger financial controls. Engagement: proposals to embed democratic supporter organisations and engagement within the heart of domestic football. Heritage: football stadiums, club badges, location, colours and competitions all deserve special protections. Fans to have a veto on these assets at every club via a “golden share” which is held by a democratic, legally-constituted fan group. Reform: half of the FA Board should be made up of independent non-executive directors, to reduce elite club influence. The review also recommends reform of the FA Council. Distribution: the removal of restrictions on FA spending meaning more money redirected towards grassroots, non-league and women’s football. Equality: Equality, diversity and inclusion plans should be mandatory for all clubs. Women’s game: a recommendation that a new review is set up to specifically explore the challenges facing the women’s game. Those challenges may or may not require a different approach to the men’s game but they must be examined thoroughly and independently.
  17. Hi all! Some time ago, we used to run contributed match previews by you guys, and given the recent upgrade to the mb I feel it's high time we brought them back! I'll list the fixtures below, I'll add any cup fixtures as they're announced, and just comment below which matches you would like to do! It'll be first come first serve, so get in quick! Once allocated, you'll see your username placed next to the match, with the match crossed out. If for any reason you can't do one that you've committed to or you've asked for the wrong one, just let me know or comment below. As matches pass, I'll remove them from the list. For an example, see my West Brom Match Thread, or the myriad of wonderful and often side-splittingly funny previews in the site archives. 18. It's probably a bit early but the EFL have announced that, because of the World Cup next season the competitions will start on July 30th and effectively be suspended for a month from November 12th to December 10th for Championship clubs. https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2021/november/15/efl-announces-2022-23-dates/
  19. For sale 2009/2010 signed ball and calendar with authentication
  20. I’m looking at moving on a large chunk of my collection where I’ve acquired multiple shirts from the same season, so that I can focus on some older and reinvest in those shirts. There are some really special shirts and full kits I’m looking to sell on so if anyone is interested in specific seasons please message me on here or on Twitter - @MaxPhythian - and I can send over photos/description of what I have available, I can’t just send out lists of everything I have because there’s too many. Happily open to swaps as well if you have anything pre 00’s.
  21. So Harrison Reed puts a post on Instagram and we have a whole host of ex players liking this post which doesn’t feel right to me, to make it even worse so does Dack and Butterworth. Absolutely disgusting from current players to that after such a shower of a performance.
  22. This is a picture of Kenny Dalglish arriving at Ewood yesterday. It seems to have slipped under the radar. Does anyone know what it was about? 414142C6-EB49-426E-8A4C-8D23C8375321.MOV
  23. How do. Was a season ticket holder in the Blackburn End for about nine years. Been a Rovers fan since being an embryo. Not taken any notice in football for about ten years, walked away in disgust after the club was completely destroyed from the inside out. Moved to New Zealand in 2013 and have only just started to take notice again this season. Hope everyone is well.
  24. just found out that derek fazackerley turned 70 today, happy birthday faz, great header of a ball and superb organiser, you had to be well on your game to get anything out of faz and his centre back partner keeley🙂
