  1. Very scrappy game tonight. Rice and Phillips in the same midfield = dull football. Mount not in the game, Sterling trying hard but no end product. No shots on target so far.
  2. Premier League fixtures are out and some interesting opening games. 6 games live on TV. Sky Sports are showing Dingles vs Man City Friday 11th August, Newcastle vs Villa 5.30pm Saturday 12th August, Brentford vs Spurs 2pm Sunday 13th, Chelsea vs Liverpool 4pm Sunday 13th and Man Utd vs Wolves 8pm Monday 14th. TNT Sports are showing Arsenal vs Forest on Saturday 12th August 12.30pm
  3. In this thread, please feel free to post any TV, YouTube clips of Rovers in days gone by...if anyone has any old VHS tapes but doesn't know how to convert them to digital...DM me, I might be able to assist...

  5. in league 1, Good wins for Sunderland against Wigan and Wycombe against Stanley. Morecambe got a good point at Ipswich. Look like it will be good competitive league. I think Sunderland, Wigan, Wycombe and Ipswich will be changing for the top 2 spots in the league. In League 2, Gary Bowyer's Salford got a point with Orient yesterday. I think they should win the league this season.
  6. Hello all, I’ve started this thread to discuss protest ideas so those in support can start taking positive action against the current state of the club and owners Venky’s & CEO Steve Waggott. Their short sighted and non-sensical business decisions are slowly killing BRFC from the inside out and it cannot be allowed to go on. As fans we’re the only ones with the best interests of Blackburn Rovers Football Club at heart 💙🤍🌹 Aims of the Protest Movement 1. The ultimate aim is for Venky’s to sell the club to new owners who are present, communicate with the fans and have the best interests of the club & fans at heart AND the community it is part of. 2. The initial aim is to voice the growing frustration of the fan base & for the current CEO Steve Waggott to start communicating with us and to be open & transparent about the ongoing financial issues and resultant inability to recruit the quality & number of players we need to progress as a club. 3. If there is no response from the club to the initial aims, the protest will enter its next stage, ideas below: Ideas Further ideas would be welcomed on how to take this forward. There were the first rumblings in the Blackburn End v Huddersfield with the “Venky’s Out” chant but we need more co-ordinated action for the owners & CEO to really sit up and listen. They’ve had a far too easy ride up until now. Some ideas I’ve had already: 1. Protest with banners/sign reveal and singing on 18 & 75 minutes during a league game. This could be as simple as downloading the below image onto your phone or iPad & holding it up as well as home made banners, signs and the like for those who want to. 2. A Reading style pitch invasion and sit down protest during a game. This would be a last resort currently. 3. Printing of t-shirts and a full on march style protest ending up at the Jack Walker statue before a League home game Any further and even more innovative ideas would be welcomed…. Venky’s & Waggott…were comin’ for you!
  7. Time to start a new thread for the upcoming season? I'll start with something I've just seen related to one of our new opponents for the season. Imagine Venkys coming up with an open letter like this. No, I can't either.
  8. You may have noticed the "Rogue Cookie Issue Fix" message at the top of the site...or you may not (!) either way - here's a pdf which hopefully provides some guidance as to how to do what you need to do to remove the rogue cookie that has been causing mischief... Apologies for the inconvenience...hope it helps...🙏 So you need to clear site specific cookies 1.1.pdf
  9. Can anyone please help me? I'm looking for the row and seat numbers for the groups of ten seats situated directly above the exits from the seating to the concourse in the Darwen Lower. Odd request, I know, but it's to get the best tickets for an away supporter who is partially sighted. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  10. Hi Everyone, Does anyone have a 94/95 shirt they’d be willing to sell — stipulation being it has to be collected today? Alternatively does anyone have a new and unused shirt from this season for sale? Send me a DM if you do!
  11. I tend to assume that the loons in Pune will continue to get the green light for sending funds over, unfortunately keeping the circus going for a good while longer. There's also no doubt that they'll reduce the amount of funds they send, after recent earnings. We've just got a guaranteed £18m for Wharton, £500k for Ennis and have ~£4m coming in from the Raya sale in the summer. So that'll be ~£22.5m in total... before we flog anyone else. Looking ahead to the summer: Ben Chrisene, Billy Koumetio, Yasin Ayari, and Andrew Moran will return to their parent clubs. Plus, the short-term contracts of Kyle McFadz and John Fleck will be up. Trav and Vale will be coming back. At a normal Club, Eustace would be properly backed after receiving income like that - but as we all know, this is far from a normal Club... In your opinion, will Eustace have some cash to play with in the summer, or not?
  12. Whatever happened to the official rovers forum that was on rovers.co.uk? must of been 10 years or more since i was on it and it doesnt seem to be about anymore?
  13. 2 spare tickets (seated together) for the Alan Shearer event at King George's Hall on 9th Feb. Happy to sell seperately or together. Paid £40 each, but will accept £20 each. PM if interested 👍
  14. How do I go about volunteering to paint the unloved wood in the upper tier of the Jack walker stand. I will supply the brush and paint / my time for free. Photo taken this weekend at the QPR game.
  15. Lets vote on this critical topic to gauge opinion. Now a realistic prospect. Some will see it as a new beginning (next Bolton) whilst some will be terrified it could be the end (next Bury). Poll above.
  16. Following on the doggy in the window post .. a bit of light heartedness to break the crap up... Rovers players related to animals.. Roy Waggly
  17. Hi there, just hoping somebody on here could help with the online ticketing system. I’m having trouble buying a ticket for the Wrexham game, I’ve registered an account and tried to purchase tickets but keep getting an error message saying “Unfortunately, one or more items in your basket is assigned to a newly registered client, which is not allowed”. Can anyone advise on why it’s being such a pain to get a ticket. For clarity, neither me or my friend support Blackburn or Wrexham, we’ve been trying to get around the 92 grounds and cup games are a good opportunity to go to random matches that might be interesting, would be a bit out of my way to travel to the ground just to visit the ticket office. Thanks in advance for any help.
  18. Hi All, You may remember me as the 'Safe Standing Roadshow' guy, and I'm pleased to have played a small part in getting standing back to several PL and EFL grounds - hopefully soon to Ewood Park as well. I'm also a bit of a German football nerd, so with the Euros coming up over there next summer, I've done a repeat of what I did for the World Cup in Germany in 2006 and put together a website as a guide for fans aiming to go to the tournament. It's very creatively called Euro 2024 in Germany. I hope you find it helpful and something to browse while there's no club football going on in the Championship. All feedback and questions very welcome. Ditto re any tips you think I should add to the site. Cheers, Jon Darch (BlagdonRed)
  19. Most of these videos have been shared on here in various threads such as the Nostalgia one and the relevant player threads such as the Andy Cole, Brereton, Armstrong etc ones. However, they may have got lost amongst new posts and subsequently been missed by visitors and members of the forum, new and longstanding alike. Therefore, I've decided to create a specific thread for these compilation videos, where they can be easily found in one place and viewed by all Rovers fans on here. Any other compilations in the future will be added to this thread to make for easier viewing. What memories and what brilliant times (in the main, before the takeover). If any of the Rovers hierarchy are looking on at this thread, I have three words for you. STANDARDS. RAISE. THEM. There are nine videos in total (for now): 1. Andy Cole 2. Dwight Yorke 3. Jon Stead 4. Paul Dickov 5. Craig Bellamy 6. Bradley Dack 7. Ben Brereton Diaz 8. Adam Armstrong 9. Brad Friedel (Legend. Not a goal comp, but Brad has to be included)
  20. I have uncovered a signed shirt, and I believe it’s from the 11/12 season 😭😅 Can you name the signatures on it? No prizes, just a bit of fun (playing fast and loose with that definition). Yes, he who must not be named is on there…
  21. Hello everybody. There’s been a bit of talk recently about the ads on the site, so I wanted to clarify the position of the site. BRFCS is a not for profit (so far this year we’ve donated to Rovers Ladies, Tony Parkes, Rio Spurr amongst others) and as such is ran pretty close to the wire financially. We make revenue in three main ways: Adverts, BRFCS premium and sponsorship (thanks The Terrace, Rovers Trust). The ads are our biggest source of income, but income that is based on site visits. So during the season, especially around ‘big’ games the site does well and out of season the site doesn’t do well. We offer ‘premium’, which is an ad free experience so that anyone that either doesn’t like adverts or wants to help support the site has an option to do so. We don’t want to get into the world of asking for donations, so Premium is the offering for anyone wanting to support the site. As it’s off-season, this is a gentle reminder that if you enjoy BRFCS, or would like to say thanks to the team that work on it for free and give something back, premium is available here if you can afford to do so : https://brfcs.com/magazine/premium and you can read more here:
  22. Hi, Due to a change in our travel plan we can not visit the fa cup match vs Cambridge united anymore. We have 10 tickets for sale face value 100 pounds. Im happy to help somebody out so not all of the money is required. You can contact via email, Jop Boeijkens
  23. Is it just me or is it my perception that we seem to have let in way more last minute goals than we have scored? I can think of very few last minute goals for us. But we always seem to concede them. Even going back to 1994/95. We conceded a few last minute goals that season. The only last minute goal I remmeber was at Coventry and Old Trafford but it was disallowed. This and last season seems to be full of last minute conceded goals. Cant think of any for us off the top of my head.
  24. Hey all, I know that it is an expensive time of year, but I'm involved in a charity drive as part of my work and, as it has a bit of a Blackburn Rovers theme, I thought that this would be a good place to share it. As part of my work with UNESCO we are having a little bit of an internal fundraising challenge to get money for sports equipment and kits for a network of schools that we work with in developing countries. As part of that challenge, each of us has taken on the goal of getting as much kit and equipment relating to the club that we support as possible. As the only Rovers supporter, I am at a serious disadvantage, but it would be great to be able to send some Rovers kit and merchandise off as part of the project. Most of the donations have been in cash so far, but here's a link to the PayPal fundraising drive. Donations of any amount are always appreciated and I'll keep everyone updated once the project really gets going. https://www.paypal.com/pools/c/90prfl7oVk
  25. Received today. Had it delivery to Mother’s, so give me something to read over Christmas when I visit. Thanks to all involved. PS It’s pretty big…
