Not sure what you're talking about here. You are spoken of pretty well whenever your name has arisen at meetings I've been at.

'As an accountant, he'd be an ideal treasurer.' Not my words but spoken in meetings.

I think the main issue is the 'old guard' not welcoming new blood and fresh ideas as they think it'll be more successful. What SHOULD happen is the welcoming of new ideas to move forward, which is all I take from those at meetings. The only negativity I've seen is from those most recently in situ on the RT.

Wish everyone would grow up and realise that Rovers are more important than how big your knobs are.

a shame nobody contacted me about it, as I would have probably stood. Water under the bridge now I guess... B)

Agreed, but you are going to have to understand that if you've put your heart and soul into something for 6 years, it is going to be hard to let go even after you've made the decision. It isn't easy for us to do it, and the fact that we have done it should say a lot about how much we care about it - realising that maybe it is time for some new blood with new energy, new ideas!

I've just got the inkling that this forum of written communication allows for a lot of misinterpretation of people's actual intentions and meaning - it should hopefully be recognised that everyone involved both on the current board and those standing now are in it in good faith for the betterment of the Trust and ultimately the best for the club. That is my sincerest hope in any case.

Yes, and you would be an excellent co-opted board member to assume the treasurer role. Like I said, keep in touch with the current and newly elected board. I'll chase up that DM.

What about your mate at the WMC whom you keep referring to? Surely he'd have told you when telling you about the voting?

Why don't you go to the WMC out of interest? Did you used to go or be involved?  You've potentially got undoubted skills but where have you been if your only signing up to the trust now in the hope of election and missing from both groups meetings? Honest question by the way.

obvious potential to join numbers in strength with the WMC?

I went to the initial EWMC meeting, chucked a few quid into the pot and set-up the JustGiving page for the Fox & Hounds painting, later banner.  I have re-joined the RT as I was a member however (like many I think) wasn't sure the direction it was taking, coupled with a lack of fan interaction from them and eventually drifted away.

No problem with honest questions...

I say good luck to everyone who gets involved. I would love to but work commitments at the moment prevent me from attending (might change as retirement is on the horizon!).

The people who get elected, and I admire you all for the dedication, have simply got to find a way to unite the supporters. Manage that and you have an almighty spring board to take the fight forward.

I have to say that is exactly my perception as well. No sense of him being the object of derogatory comments in the group, In fact, one of the heartening things about the WMC group is the fact that people from different factions attend and contribute.

However, the split in the fanbase is a massive problem for us all.

From listening, watching and reading messages over the last few years, the weirdest thing is that many of those who seem to be "sworn enemies" do appear very similar in their traits..

I know for a fact that Wayne would not take a directors position at the club now even if it was offered under the current ownership, so it is just bunch of hogwash gossip.

Wayne is a born and bred Blackburnian who loves the club through and through, and would do just about anything for it.

The India trip is a prime example - He worked harder than anyone else would have done to line up all the current MP's, Jack Straw, etc - who all agreed to go on the condition a meeting could be arranged there with the owners.

They never responded from any enquiries from any source - they'll probably deny they ever got any, just as they denied they ever received a bid for a controlling stake before the season, even though they did.

As Chairman of the Trust, it would be hugely irresponsible to make that trip without a meeting - the cost benefit is a negative value. A lot of time and energy was put into trying to make it happen, so it was far more frustrating for those involved in that process than it was for anyone else.

But of course people don't think about that so they have a very easy time making off hand criticisms about "doing nothing" and "agendas." You're very entitled to your opinion, of course, as is everyone, but just have it noted here that it is a very uninformed one.

I've the utmost respect for all the fans that are trying to bring about change, but don't be fooled by certain individuals that have one eye on feathering their own nests at the expense of the football club and its fans.

You claim certain people would do anything for the football club Dan?

But they'll not visit Pune and try and force a meeting? like at least one person on this site has done at their own expense, so lets not say kid ourselves here, if the desire was there they'd have been in Pune forcing the issue not hiding behind excuses.

The Trust has lost several members due to lack of activity in the fight against Venkys, some have left due to personal gripes around business deals getting in the way, how can that be right?

Its a sad state of affairs if I'm honest and just my opinion of course

TRUST Members will now have an email giving them the chance to vote for 4 Board members. If you think you are a Trust Member and have not received the email, then please contact them quickly. If like me you can never remember yet another password, then there is a system for that.

Some 2 or 3 weeks ago I was on here 'pushing' the fact that 4 members of the Ewood WMC meetings had put themselves forward for the Trust Board, in order to give the Trust more 'momentum' in these difficult years.

I now call upon Trust Members to vote for our 4 nominees:

-John Murray  -Mick Cahill -Duncan Miller and Steve Mack

They hope to bring more time, energy and an insistent focus to the base set by the existing Trust Board. Now there is a break point from the first 6 years. Thanks to the existing Trust Board for setting up the Trust;keeping a high number of Members; and for the ACV on Ewood Park.

Our tone can now be different. We want a less Corporate, more inclusive inter-action with Supporters ,Season-ticket holders and lapsed Supporters. We are not married to the central idea of BRFC Board representation. We want OUR Club in safe hands.

We see the need for a Communication Plan including open Trust meetings; Quarterly polling; regular e-mail news ;sub-groups with invites to members and specialists; social media and web-site innovations from younger sources. Because of Owner resistance, we will insist on a new India strategy using India contacts and press publicity. The decline of our Club must be halted with a more aggressive approach.

We want to set up a Regeneration Fund and appeal to 'Pledgers', Local Companies, Ex-Sponsors and individuals to help us create a series of measures to resurrect the Club from its current position. This may include a 'Prospectus' to sell the Club ...as the most successful Town Club in English Football.

We want 1000 members supported by a Trust team of volunteers and staff to increase the Trust's voice and credibility(by December 2018)

We will actively talk to Pledgers,London and International supporters and try and re-create the RALLY ROUND THE ROVERS atmosphere of the mid-1970s. We want to celebrate the ROVERS 150th Anniversary in 2025 as Lancashire's Premier Team again.

Please pass the message on and thank you for your attention to this. John Murray...on behalf of the 4 nominees.

One of the fundamental beliefs of most, if not all, trusts is to achieve board representation and, if possible, shared ownership.

The candidates plan to abandon this ideal? How then will long term change be achieved without representation? By all means work towards the very worthy targets mentioned but do not give up on board level fan representatives.

Answering Paul....the phrase used was 'not married' to the idea of Board representation. Which means we have to do more....including preparation for meltdown. The 4 of us love the 'german' model and want us to be more like Seville or St Pauli - a Town Club with a passionate fan-base.

As I look at the nominees:

-Michael Doherty...already co-opted and could stay on the Board whatever

-Steven Bradley...based in New York is a problem for meetings but excellent for International " Rally Round the Rovers"; Social media and fund-raising

-Ozz Jones, the necessary continuity candidate.

6 of the 7 nominees(excluding Steven) could just slide onto the Board at the moment.

The 4 'newbies' offer motivation; financial and management experience; great supporter interaction(Steve Mack chairs the Ewood WMC meetings) and most importantly time and connections. However you spin it we are the 'change' candidates and as we teeter on the edge of League 1, which is much worse than 30 years ago, we need a Plan A and B and possibly a Plan C.

SO Members of the Trust.....John Murray....Mick Cahill...Steve Mack...and Duncan Miller. 4 Votes. Your Choice!

"Not married" does  imply the necessary flexibility and ability to be more creative imo.

I was thinking how hard the previous Trust regime worked on an Indian trip that came to nothing-through no fault of their own. I would be looking for more creativity and flexibility in future. With hindsight, it looks like all the Indian eggs were in one expensive basket, relying on diaries of influential people and, of course, courtesy( from the most ignorant Indians in the world!)

I know there are many other ways to take the fight to India. I happen to know that the four new nominees have other ideas that might not involve as much financial cost, but are likely have a significant impact.

Erm, so please use one of them to vote for me of course. I`ve put in a lot of hard work, time, effort, expense and sacrifice to help get the Trust to where it is today. I would like to be able to continue that good work and maintain a level of continuity with the new board members.

You got one of my four votes, Ozz. People like you are gold dust. The kind of bloke who will be there to pick up the pieces when everyone else has had a go.

Let's not throw out the baby with the bath water.

Why can't all 7 be part of the board? All 7 have valid reasons to be elected and each have skills which will be useful.

I haven't voted yet, I have 2/3 in mind & the fourth may be chosen on their election 'pledge'.
