No Jim, they are not.

Yes they are. Journalists is a broad term for people who work in newspapers/magazines/television/media.

There are news reporters and investigative reporters but they're all journalists.

Tin hat and many will probably guffaw at what I am about to say.

HAVE VENKYS ACTUALLY GOT A BUSINESS PLAN?

We all know the history of failure, waste of money, lavish expenditure on rubbish, bad advice, poor fan relation, poor managerial choices, blatant disregard of the fan base, the disrespect, the name calling, the keanscum era and the rest of the pi$$pot running of our fabulous club not to mention the pure ridicule that we have seen us being portrayed in various media sources.

Despite the views of many (some educated, some uneducated, some just pure virile rubbish, some pure speculative and some whatever), I find myself looking at the management of the current years losses and the figures being just £3m or so. That is well within the FFP rules, it keeps us afloat and it actually serves a purpose for the next phase of Venky's big plans.

In looking at the debt management/losses added to the final pay offs for the overpaid dross we have seen leech money from this club I look at the accounts/scenario, reviewed all of the intelligent input from members of this board and I found myself asking this?

Have Venkys actually begun and managed to sort out the real mess left behind the scenes to put us in a much better place that we have been since they took over?

Make no bones about it, they have lost massively financial wise and will no doubt never see that money again.

I am no fan of theirs, I despise the manner in which I have seen my club be destroyed by such foolish and idiotic football management and I will never forget that. However, in saying that, look at it from a slightly different perspective and it actually looks like something behind the scenes is beginning to bear fruit.

I might be wrong, there may be a ulterior behind it all.

Things appear to be going somewhat right off the park in the crazy world of venky's, If they could just try and begin with the basics of actually communicating with the fan base, look to try and re build the many bridges they have smashed down, put proper footballing men behind the scenes (or women) their plans just might and I reiterate JUST MIGHT come to some sort of fruition.

I can see Abbey ( a very good mate of mine) spitting his morning tea over his monthly Escort and many other frothing at what they are reading.

Venkys are not selling, it isn't worth them seeking administration so they have to have a business plan, looks like they have (sort of.....).

I don't believe that is even a remote possibility.

I do admire your optimism though, but I think you may need more than a "tin hat" maybe an underground bunker.:)

Amazing post from 1864. Genuinely amazing. I especially liked the bit about of 'virile' rubbish. Is that like what you would expect to find in a skip at the back of an 'adult bookshop'?

Glad they really have our best interests at heart and are all about sorting out the real mess. Not sure which mess that is aside from the one created on their watch which resulted in relegation and the sale and payoff of a class of squad and management (and board) that we are likely to never see again but still.

Thanks Venkys! I never really saw it that way until just now. Sorry for all the protests, it was a misunderstanding. I was just confused - you know how it is. Please, please. Show us more of your business plan. Thanks.

What, getting us relegated to League 1? yeah, they're doing a great job. Remind me where we were when they took over?

Roverite - to some extent I can see what you are saying, and my point of view is open the them staying potentially in future if they could ever make a success of it.

The problem is, that's about as likely as me making the step up from the settee to league foootball. I've always had the thought that them selling could end up putting us in worse hands, but nothing they've done since the Cairney transfer (bar the lambert month or two of optimism) has said anything bar "try and cut costs". Yes - we had to stop the stem of waste on poor players but ultimately, low crowds, potential relegation and dwindling revenues.. you can't fix them buy cutting more "quality"..

That's a business plan that will send us tumbling towards oblivion, the end of the academy, youth teams, state of the art facilities and a big stadium...

If they'd hired someone with the correct expertise, all of this could've been avoided. It's been the constant of their "era". From day one with Kean to last summer with Coyle.

They've never shown an inkling of "planning". If you believe a few of the tin foil gang on here, they've actually been complicit in gambling and money laundering scams - I think this is a more likely scenario than them having solid reliable plans for our future (that's simply not just "cut or shut")

1864 I'd say yes they have a plan.

To me it looks like the plan is desperately holding on no matter what the cost.

Any business in this car crash situation would want out, be that through selling/administration, whatever. Simply put a huge and increasing loss makes no business sense whatsoever.

Yet Venkeys clearly want to keep us. They don't care if we succeed - their financial and on-field activities show that (not one sound appointment on the field, and money not being spent/invested at all in even the basics to get us running well e.g. the delay in under soil heating repair, £250K spent in the summer.) But equally it seems as if they don't want rid of what can only be a huge financial burden on them. It appears as if they want to avoid administration and are trying to keep the losses from reaching proportions where administration is triggered.

The question I ask myself is why. Logic and their actions suggests they don't care yet don't want to let go. So why keep us? To me it seems as though the only reason is to not uncover some very dodgy stuff. Outside of this nothing whatsoever makes sense.

It's almost like the last six years never happened. They are totally responsible for where we are now and the likelihood is that come May we will be in League One.

Business plan - laughable.

I could just about stick with you until that line. We were an established Premier League club when they took over.

Against the £35m lost last year (give or take!?) the £3m does look better I give you that, however it is all of their own making and so suddenly believeing they have a business plan is terribly naieve imo.

The only blip in the last 6 years that I cannot understand is the Lambert appointment. Aside from that Venkys have given a mastercall in how to destroy a wonderful football club.

Oh dear. Remember that Derek Shaw phone call ?

All we are seeing is just more illusion on the surface whilst meanwhile behind the scenes it's probably same old same old. Might not be the chaos of before which is no bad thing but now it seems to be a wall of silence.

If there is any plan it's a purely financial one and probably brought about by the lenders taking a grip on the situation rather than anything the crackpots have dreamed up. Being the wealthy people they are assumed to be they could sort this in no time and put the club back on a firm footing at least. They never did that from the beginning and they won't now and this situation will go on for years now.

I'd prefer a football plan. :(

Sorry 1864 but I disagree. The most cruicial figure in the accounts is cashflow from operating activities. This was £17.9m outflow in 2015 vs £17.1m outflow in 2016. This is before player trading.

That is very worrying because publically it has been a message of "we're cutting costs", this is not reflected in the actual results. There has been no marked improvement in the financial situation.

Selling anything that moves is not a sustainable plan.
