Were you not calling for him to be banned the other day for having 'alternative views'?

You want banning, try adding to the debate or sod off.

You're a brave man from behind your keyboard.

Do you mean the debate that is you calling someone a WUM for suggesting that next season, if managed correctly, could be better than this. You called that 'outlandish'. It's 'dog whistle' posts like that that add nothing to any debate. Asking for him to be banned the other day was just pathetic.

Time to grow up lad and accept alternative views, rather than being whiny and unpleasant when someone posts something you disagree with. You have form for this.

Will you never learn?

Get banned, behave for a month or 2, weasel up to new posters, get found out by new posters, don't get enough attention, lose the plot, banned again.

This debate was fine until you sank your second pint of the morning and waded in with the usual b0llox.

PM me if you want to carry on the debate - You're boring.

All that only happened in your head.

Now stop asking for people to be banned like a little child and we can all get along. You aren't Napoleon, although you may have his complex:-

"Napoleon complex" is a term describing a theorized condition occurring in people of short stature. It is characterized by overly-aggressive or domineering social behaviour'

How tall are you?

Yeah but where could they be if they'd have kept those players ?

No doubt they would probably be a bit better off, and like GAV said they are an exception to the rule here.

If run properly thought (ha!) then you can carry on competing at a similar level you were before even if you sell your best players.

I'm not for one minute suggesting that will happen here though.

They've pulled in some real money just looking through the transfers out of the club, but some of that has been reinvested, they now have one the Premierships best strikers in Manolo Gabbiadini, top drawer that lad from what I've seen.

We digress slightly, but you have to assume if they'd kept hold of the players sold they'd have been title contenders Mark.

They sold a lot of those players at good times (players peaked, like when we sold Bentley, Santa Cruz and Jones)and replaced others with arguably better players ,for less money.

There is quality out there if you look around. The key to being competitive in this division is to have a hardworking, well coached ,organised and hungry squad. It can be done without spending a fortune.

Who are our scouts now? What does our scouting network look like currently? What countries do they scout? Does anyone have a concrete answer to this?  Don't respond if you are just going to say something "smart" eg our scouting network is Paul Seniors wife.

Southampton being able to spend tens of millions on replacements is a little different than us having to make do with freebies and loans. As a comparison it isn't really valid.

The best comparison you could make, for this league, would be Ipswich. Practically nothing to spend in the entire time Mick has been there, but they've been in and around the playoffs and currently still safe enough in mid table. That's probably the best we can hope for.

The club was a very different beast when we sold Bentley, Santa Cruz and Jones to a certain extent, you can't replace players of that calibre with free transfers?

What makes you think we can? what makes you think this summer will be a good one? one with investment on players?

It is not only that we are looking at incoming from loans and frees but we also want to pay wages as low as possible.

Look at the Emnes loan resigning saga. Not wanted by his parent club but wanted by us. He cannot go anywhere else but we still drag it out to the end of the window. Why? imo To force Swansea to give us even better loan terms.

Such an approach will end in tears.

Since the moment they arrived we've been on the back foot in the transfer window. It isn't so much the financial aspect, as it appears even today we're paying out substantial wages with a large wage bill for this league. People like Graham, Conway, Guthrie and Mulgrew won't be here for low Championship wages. It's obvious that they were trying to offload Guthrie through the back door last summer to get his wages off the books presumably so Coyle could bring in another couple of his boys instead. Ironic that Guthrie has actually been our best midfielder this season and we've been much better when he's in the side than when he isn't.

Timing is more important than funds. If they turned round and said that in the summer, regardless of what league we're in, we're limited to free transfers and loans on wages of up to £x per week and the club could bring these types in as and when they came available without needing authorisation from India then I'd believe that a decent summer of business could still be had. The difficulty is it seems that they don't review things until late May or June when the season is over, don't decide what they are doing until after that meeting, and by the time permission comes through for signings the summer has almost gone and all the decent players available in our budget range have been snaffled up. Throw in last summer when they were clearly waiting for the sales of Hanley and Duffy for big money before people like Emnes, Mulgrew and Hoban could be added to the squad once the season was well underway. It's a flawed system and unless Senior has somehow persuaded them to change this then we'll have another horrific summer window.

Good post and all very true. Hopefully Senior being here will streamline our transfer process and cut out the crippling waiting times we have had to deal with in relation to our transfer dealings.

I'm unsure why you appear to have so much faith in Senior.

His track record to date is hardly inspiring and added to the past 6 and half years of our experiences with Venkys, I'm not alone in needing some convincing.
