How about because under the current ownership we let one man live at Brockhall "24/7" running the club, allowed him to influence who the manager was and sign players without the boards consent, and that is the reason we are in this mess in the first place.

Employees of the club or people making decisions for the club should be doing their best for Blackburn Rovers - not for the people they represent, their mates or their family. Since Venkys took over there is clear evidence the latter has been happening.

I know. The lads the agents signed and the manager then were absolutely Barry White and we massively suffered for it.

We have a good manager at the moment and so far the one lad we've signed under Senior has shown he's alright in my opinion... Joao may or may not be an agent of Seniors wife and we may or may not sign more of Seniors wife's lads but if we stay up this season thanks to Joao then that's fine for me.

If we hypothetically sign a few good players in summer who are clients of Seniors wife and we finish mid table next season with the manager still here is that such a bad thing?

Big problem is Venky's, we all know that but if we can stay in this league until they decide to leave and if we have to sign a few of Seniors wife's agents to do that I couldn't give a @#/?.

The arguments about Jaoa and Mrs Senior is all getting a bit schrodingers cat, depending on which side of the argument you fall on, she is until someone proves otherwise, she isnt until someone proves otherwise.

For what it's worth, as I've said loads and loads, my Dad currently works at the top end of the food chain at a NW club having held board positions at others, Senior is known to be a car salesman. I wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him. His wife is definitely an agent, whether she is his agent is very hard to say as most players don't just have one representative, unless of course you're at the Jorge Mendes end of the scale, which our players aren't.

Jaoa is with Doyen and will be 'looked after' by several of their licensed intermediaries and player escorts I would have thought based on who is available at the time. The fact that Seniors wife works for an agency that represents his first and only signing isn't that alarming in itself as football is a very interbred world (the amount of managers, ex -players, etc, whose sons (and daughters) are agents, players escorts, helpers of varying degree is pretty staggering), however factor in the recent history of certain agents and agencies at Rovers and it does (and should) raise eyebrows at least and open up a perfectly valid question.

The issue here comes down to transparency, with Seniors wife being an agent it is perfectly reasonable to expect that we would at some point either sign or have the chance to sign players who are represented by her/her employer, no problems with that, but be transparent.

For instance a certain Scottish manager who lives in the Ribble Valley son works/worked for a certain Liverpudlian agent, said manager has signed players represented by said Liverpudlian agent, said manager/his club report those signings to the FA to show transparency. Is it unreasonable to expect us to go through the same due process?

Well said LR and it is beyond me, how we signed young Myles and that has never been investigated. I would love to know what he was paid, and given that he was never going to play a game, why has this never hit the headlines properly?

He recently turned up at Conference side Barrow and I happen to know one of the players there. He was apparently not accepted too well by the players, as he turned up in a top of the range Mercedes and had a flashy watch and elegant clothes. The trappings no doubt form that he "earned" whist a player at Ewood. He didn't last there very long and is now at Torquay, who are also in the Conference.  I let it be known to the player I know there, what had happened when we signed him, so no doubt most players there were aware of it. The big worry with Seniors wife, is that once again, signings could be made that line the pockets of people who simply do not deserve it.

Did Myles sign as a scholar or a pro, if he signed as a scholar then those figures are bull. The FA set the wages for scholars.

I genuinely don't know what age he was, just throwing it up as a fact check.

Pro he was 20

Can you not see that if Senior's wife is an agent, and we get players under her representation, it is a conflict of interest upon Senior's role with the club?

Other jobs with that kind of conflict are often rendered untenable without contractual provisions.

My point is, I would like to be assured that we recruit for the benefit of the club and not Doyen Sports (SEM in the past) or Senior's back pocket.

You don't see a problem with the man responsible for player recruitment at Blackburn Rovers bringing in his agent wifes players? Really? you don't see a problem with that? after everything thats gone at Ewood over the past 7yrs? you don't see that as an issue?

Come back to me if it is actually proven to be the case that she is in fact his agent.

There's no evidence and even if there were he doesn't see a problem!!!! So let's go back to something he thinks is more important!

What on earth is the point of debating with someone like him?

So what,he should not have gotten the job because his wife is an agent? I have never been asked that question in an interview "so what does your wife do?"

Should we not sign players from this agency? Even if they are exactly what we need.

You can't even prove she works for the agency ,let alone represents Joao. The usual stuff on here from posters like you.

I'm surprised he's still knocking around at that level to be honest.

I don't think he will be for very long to be honest. The Dog and Duck reserves are looking for a couple of subs though, so he could be there next.

LR you have heard the exact same as me about Senior..

I worked a few years ago at a corporate company where we had to undergo regular ethics courses..

But obviously underhanded things still went on

Plant Gav, not a brick, a plant. When you "can't see" the point when you have Lancaster Rover's excellently balanced post explaining things simply and without any bias/suspicion you have to assume willful ignorance.

Add in the thread was calming down after Lancaster's excellent summary and moving onto Myles conning us out of a wage then BDS chucks out another what does it matter challenge. That suggests he's either looking for a reaction...

Or for some reason trying to get people not to focus on Myles contract/naughtiness at Ewood.

LR's point is that what people are upset about re 'conflict of interest' actually happens and is legal. It seems the FA just request to be informed. It's a shock to me. Besides 3rd party ownership nothing seems to be insurmountable in football.

So we can be as outraged as we want but if Senior wants to sign players represented by his wife then that's perfectly legal. Unless I've read it wrong?

No, you've not read it wrong you've simply misunderstood the basis of the whole debate about Venkys actions over 6+ years.

For the umpteenth time, 3rd party ownership and other related activities are not illegal, and this has never been the issue.

However it is in breach of the FA's rules!! The reasons are obvious and can be encapsulated in the phrase"conflict of interest".

The problem has been collecting the evidence and then persuading the FA to enforce its own rules!

This is not to say that illegal activities have not occured but 3rd party ownership of an English football club is not illegal in itself, simply against the rules and immoral.

Can we please stop going over the same old ground? This has been explained many times!
