Don't let people wind you up. Because You're very open about your passion and commitment to the Club You're an easy target for people who have either given up supporting the Club or who claim to be boycotting. Why they do it I don't know, maybe they feel guilty about their own actions and are taking it out on the likes of you and Parson instead.

Yes that must be it!

You usually talk sense but that is absurd.

Name the posters so that it is clear who you are referring to. Usually those responsible are oblivious to the fact that they are doing anything wrong.

Naah. This is a very clear message and will work for most people.

The real issue is that this internal conflict is a kind of proxy for the war that should be taken to the FA, media ....and Venky's.

It also fuels and maintains the divide that can only aid those, who continue to destroy the club.

Do men in pubs argue about football?

We/they do Den BUT it doesn't become inane, personal to the point of idle threats and abuse !

That is the venky syndrome to me, destroyed the club, the foundations and the support base.

Too late as this has been done a thousand times. If I had to name a number of initiatives for the fans to try and rid the club of Venky's, the pacifists on here would just counter argue until they were blue in the face. It's too late now, we're marching into oblivion without as much as a whimper. This would not have happened at places like Burnley (as much as I hate to admit it), Millwall, West Ham, West Brom, Woves et al and supporters of clubs like those must be pissing their sides at our demise.

It has happened at Coventry, Pompey, Charlton and looks to be happening at Forest though and they all passionate fanbases certainly on a par with and bigger than the likes of Burnley.  Similar arguments rage on Forest forums but having seen it happen at those clubs mentioned a lot say 'but what can we do' ?

More to do with this stale era everywhere than anything and even Burnley, Wolves, WHam are sterile places now. Millwall will always be Millwall though :o

I just wish we could all unite for once and direct our anger solely towards those shysters in Pune, the monsters who have destroyed Jack's legacy...I'm hoping it all comes to a head against Villa.

We will never unite while there are fans who still won't show their ire against Venkys and would rather take pot shots at protesters and boycotters instead.

I can well picture the scene as these folk rock up to Ewood one day to see the padlock on the gate, scratch their heads and wonder "what happened?".

Not quite the same (this is from pre-WW2) but some will be able to identify with the sentiment......

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

We will also never unite, if those still intent on attending are labelled in a similar fashion!

The amount of times I've read the "funding corruption" put down...

But surely you agree that Venkys should be the common enemy for ALL Rovers fans?

And if we've are to 'unite' then it surely must be AGAINST them rather than everyone uniting in a combined spirit of conscientious ambivalence?

I find it hard to see any argument for the opposite - apart from sheer bloody-mindedness:

"Your house is on fire! You need to leave. NOW!"

"I'm not being told what I need to do - and especially not with that attitude!".

Agree there Biz.

Protesting and boycotting has acheived not much in terms of forcing the owners out. Boycotting started happening 6 years ago and still Venkys are here

Most of press/media arent interest these days.

There is no smoking gun to force them and the Government/FA arent interested at all

Its a club that.means the world to me. It has some great life memories for me.

I will keep going to Ewood Park for many years to come to support my club.

This is my club, this is your club.

The problem everyone has with this post is that you are essentially saying that people who don't go anymore don't support the club, when in actual fact, they might be just as passionate, or even more passionate, than you. The people that don't go aren't not going because they don't support the club anymore, they aren't going because they do support the club, and feel like it is in the best interests of the club to have as few people buying tickets as possible. For the record, I still go but I can definitely see where the other side are coming from, you should too Chaddy.

For me; Uniting isn't simply about sharing the same method to solve a problem, it's equally about tolerance of other mindset.

We've had the discussion about people still "supporting venkys", whilst there may be 0.01% who think they are great owners (also members of AA I would hope) the majority are against them or dislike them already.

The point was about pot shots, not just accepting the demise - or as you put, conscious ambivalence. If someone wants to keep supporting the team, that's their prerogative. If someone wants to stop because the footballs crap, that's fine but don't dress it up as anything different. If someone wants to boycott because they can't spend or justify going, or they think it will fix the club - that's their own prerogative.

I have opinions about all of those things, but is that an excuse to personally criticise those who don't share my view?

The point is, don't take shots at others for their own views. You talked as if it was just season ticket holders, or those who still attend but wont protest who cause these fractures.

Thats simply not true. As I've said, I've been accused of funding corruption, accepting and supporting "th'owd hags" decisions, a clapper and a lot worse, SIMPLY for wanting to keep going!

Do those who still go take shots at protestors or non attendees?! Ofcourse some do, there is a lack of tolerance in general for others opinions - hence a fractured fan base. It's actually linked to modern culture imo, people don't have the same respect for others these days.

You serious? If you are, I'll edit the AA quip from it. I was trying to make the point that anyone who "likes" Venkys must be a mess.

It's not unity that you want then, it's tolerance, nay acceptance, of the disunity.

The rest of your post just talks about tolerance and respecting each other. Being frank, that will get us nothing and nowhere.

Crack on Venkys!

Rovers is all yours and you have our permission to do whatever you like while we all hold hands and sing "Why Can't We Be Friends", cherishing our equally important differences in some kind of utopian liberal vision of fandom: "I'm not fanist - some of my best friends are Burnley".

Oh, I see you already have.

Yes, it's heavy on sarcasm but come on! Listen to yourself. Accept that we don't all want the same thing? It's not much of a 'club' then is it. You sound like a Primary School teacher.

You couldn't give a better example of what the issue between fans is Stuart. I make a point about tolerance, and your reply is "crack on" as if I actively support the owners.

In the absence of someone to take responsibility, people will always look to find someone to put the boot in. In this scenario, it's each other.

Likewise, your response and stance is typical. Make an assertion that we can't and won't - and even shouldn't - unite against Venkys and then blame the reaction you get as the reason.

Just to prove my point, Parson is right on cue in liking your post. Chaddy will be along soon to complete the cliché.

I can't believe I'm wasting my time on this, but you have a lack of willingness to accept that my view isn't just a "for a reaction" or part of an internet "cliche", and since I'm in a good mood I'll explain to you again - it's what good primary school teachers do.

I didn't say we shouldn't unite against Venkys, I replied to your post suggesting that.

The first part is a stance that we cannot unite whilst those who wont "show their ire" which is quite unspecific - I'm not boycotting, but I'd gladly protest and put my hand in pocket for certain causes, is that enough Ire?

The next part; Those who don't possess the necessary "ire" for the owners, prefer to take "pot shots at protesters and boycotters instead" is exactly the point. It's a complete fallacy, those potshots at other fans are not exclusively given from that direction! It's not long on here since the favourite buzzword was "mushroom"!!

Why bring me into it?

Not even commented on it.

I've said my thoughts on why the fan base will never unite in the past. Why keep going around in circles each time. Pointless.

It's called having an opinion Stuart.  You have your opinions, I have mine, Biz has his and chaddy has his.  You seem to detest anyone actually thinking for themselves and having the audacity to think differently from you.  Get used to it.  It isn't going to change.  If you don't like what other people think then put them on ignore.

Was clearing out the attic at my home of 25 years as we're moving (not far away)

I came across so much Rovers memorabilia it was unbelievable.

Milk bottles with Rovers - Premiership Champions on the side

Newspaper cuttings of Wembley 1992, the title in 1995, Promotion in 2001, Cardiff in 2002, UEFA Cup matches

Rovers home and away kits from 1992 - present

Knitted Blue and White halved sweaters from my grandma

T-Shirts, Hats, Flags, Scarfs

Programmes, Annuals, Signed photos, wristbands from holidays with Blackburn Rovers FC on them!

CDs, VHSs, DVDs of Rovers stuff

This club means everything to me. And it breaks my heart to see whats going on.
