    Championship season 2019-20

Can't argue with any of that but we are not scoring enough goals and not creating enough chances. Football should be about goals but with TM our football is sterile. He's gone as far as he can and should be replaced. That is , if the club actually wants to get anywhere.

Not especially though I thought Danny took a very good penalty yesterday. Anyone can analyse things to death. It's boring. Watching football is exciting and it's time a number of people remembered that. Excellent game yesterday. Rovers dominated for long periods but the last 10-15 minutes had me on the edge of my seat. Too many forget this is what it's all about and content themselves with the pay back on expensive pies. So what? If we don't sell pies then we don't sell them. Who cares? It's about football. Nothing else.

You'd be delighted with the own goal and penalty we've got this season then?
  5. Sadly, £4 odd a pint is the norm outside the Blackburn area nowadays. Even some of the nicer pubs within the area are charging around that now. Therefore, the price- although it’s not great- isn’t my main gripe. What does annoy me though is the quality of it. The Fosters? It always tastes watered down. The Guinness? Absolutely no attention paid to the rule of letting it stand, before topping it up. I know it’s from a can, but I still think it tastes better following the Guinness pouring rule!

Football used to be about putting one in the onion bag........... Today for some "fans" it's about statistics, statistics and ????? I know which was better.

I won't spend money at Ewood Park. It's a rip off

Ewood was a state of the art Stadium about 25 years ago..now starting to look jaded. The facilities at Spurs new ground are simply stunning,no equal in the UK.

Perhaps you don't but then you're a fan. To get more fans we need to get people hooked on going to the match and get more casuals in. Suppose a mate rings you the day before and asks if you fancy going and tells you it's £25. You're not really a fan but you might fancy going for an afternoon out with a mate, have a few drinks and maybe make an evening of it after but you can't quite decide. He rings again next day to check if you're up for it but then tells you it's now £28. That's the cost of one of your drinks. However you dress it up its still a disgrace to charge more just because people want the freedom to make a choice late on. I've never been caught by it myself but I still think it's a ridiculous charge. And the 1875 thing only works if you go to more than a certain number of games. If you're just a casual attender you either wouldn't know or would think it might not be worth it
  12. Well done, gold star. ( assuming no interest on loan repayments !)
  13. 2,800 x £4.50 beer = £12,600 3,500 x £3.60 pie = £12,600 (!) Total matchday takings, £25,200 £7,000,000 is 278 food/match days. 23 games per season = 12 seasons.

There is no time for bedding in these days. Lose two games and back to tried and tested. Eventually Graham will not be an option. That’s when we shall see whether the investments are just that.

It’s always like that, stop fishing. There’s a lot more to talk about after a defeat than a 1-0 win. The chat has actually been pretty positive when it could have been a lot more concerned. Some shoots of digress but we now have a very thin squad (midfield aside) and rely on no injuries to key players.

    Middlesbrough (H)

    Exactly right.
  18. Today's puzzle: Blackburn Rovers charge £4.50 for a pint of beer and £3.60 for a pie, They have an average attendance of 14,000 at a home match. If 1 in 5 fans buy a pint at each match and 1 in 4 fans buy a pie, how many matches will it take to recoup the £7,000,000 spent on a non playing striker ?

That's some effort DE. More effort that you still have a working Megadrive! As you posted that on thursday, I'm guessing you have started working on this? Hows it gone so far?

Really disagree on Gallagher thought he was very ineffective and don’t think he’s a wide player at all (but you can never have enough of the kind of heart he showed) Graham’s lack of mobility means he can drop out of games for large periods.

I’ve realised who Johnson reminds me of. Its Jermaine Jones, full of energy throwing himself into tackles, you accept a fair share of bookings will come his way as part of the package

Yeh I know that's the plan with them for this season. Just questioning whether for Butterworth it's the right plan. Same may apply to JRC too as he is yet to feature this season. Less competition in a sense for him though as he can play RB too. Still got Bennett, Nyambe and probably Tosin ahead of him there though. Don't feel we should keep this lads from any decent loan deals that arise on the basis that we may have an injury crisis and then be able to give them a handful of sub appearances.

I agree. DG was ineffectual a lot of the time. Gallagher was excellent. He wasn't played as a winger. He was a wide target-man. And a runner in the channels. Graham looked lethargic in comparison.
  25. DE.

    Middlesbrough (H)

It's pretty common for victories to have less debate than defeats. There's only so many ways you can say "glad we won, decent performance". I think it's great that almost everyone is in agreement that the defence looked much better, Travis/Johnson works well as a midfield unit and Gally had a solid performance on the wing.
