    Summary

When Trevor Rimmer received an injury in the first leg of the FA Youth Cup semi-final the team was reshuffled to bring in the schoolboy Alan Bradshaw. His goal in the first leg of the final contributed to the club winning the trophy for the only time in their history. Soon after, Bradshaw enjoyed a good run in the FA Amateur Cup, with Loughborough University and his side regularly won the Simon Cup. A tidy, intelligent inside forward he made a scoring debut at Everton but struggled to break into a good side, perhaps not helped by the fact that he was a part-timer, having qualified as a PE teacher. He carved out a career for himself as Crewe and then had managerial and coaching experience at a variety of locations locally with Great Harwood, Chorley, Padiham, Clitheroe and the Rovers' youth team and abroad in Malaysia. Outside football he had an interest in a nursing home in Clitheroe.
