    Summary

Brought from his native Northern Ireland by Hull City he settled well on Humberside but it is perhaps indicative of his career that he is chiefly remembered for twice coming on as an outfield substitute and scoring. Down to third choice at Nottingham Forest he sought more opportunities at Ewood but after a fine debut he had a spell when it appeared that every shot at him landed in the net. At York he proved a fine, confident player who kept the struggling side competitive before he returned to his first English club where unexpectedly he was named to the PFA divisional team. His career was prolonged in the lower divisions but he was unfortunate to break an army soon after signing for Bury. At the end of the season he was released and joined Derby County as goalkeeping coach. After being goalkeeping coach at Cheltenham and Derby, he joined the Manchester United Academy as goalkeeping coach.
