    Summary

When Paul Ince took over as manager of the Rovers, his goalkeeping situation was problematic with Friedel about to leave. A pre-season trip to Portugal exposed the deficiencies of the reserves, Brown and Fielding, and although Paul Robinson was brought in for the first team, Ince decided to bring in another player. Unable to sign Al Habsi from Bolton he made a late swoop on transfer deadline day and brought in Bunn. It took Bunn some time to make his mark and he was sent out on loan for experience but eventually he displaced Brown as the club’s reserve goalkeeper. After a few games spent successfully deputising for Robinson he decided to leave the club and moved to Norwich, where he ended the season as first choice goalkeeper. However his spell as first choice did not last and since then he has become a regular reserve at both Norwich and Aston Villa.
