  1. Ummmmm.......no, not readily available (at least in North America anyways) Waiting for Super Metroid myself
  2. Alright I'm a total hypocrite as I bought the Wii last week. I bowed down to the constant media hype and of people saying how much fun it is...and you know what?? It's wicked fun. I bought this in the hopes of getting my wife interested in gaming as it was something that I loved doing (I now own all 3 next-gen systems). The beauty of it is that she is really enjoying it. I ended up buying that game "Trauma Centre" where you play a surgeon who has to perform operations on patients using the Wii remote (and Nunchuk). It's a great game and is a novel way to showcase the innovation of the system. I think that's obviously going to the be the key to the Wii's success which is making games that are fun and make creative use of the controls. I can't say right now if it will become gimmicky as it's still a lot of fun to play. I suppose one good argument is that the Nintendo DS has been able to go from strength to strength in utilizing the touchscreen. I still maintain the need for traditional style gaming but if you want the little woman and yourself to have a good laugh together than the Wii will deliver.
  3. West Sussex Rover has now joined up as a member. This is turning V.I.P.
  4. Oh haha! You're talking about the ill-fated "Power Glove". It was a controller that came out during the NES years. Apparently old ideas are new again and Nintendo decided to use the idea for the "Wii" Power Glove
  5. My sig is heapbag. Video games have killed my imagination
  6. Well as Kamy said, it's official now: European Launch 1 million units set to be shipped with an expected 300,000 units available for the UK. Add me when you get the black beauty guys!! PSN ID: heapbag
  7. In that case I have to ask myself if that doesn't defeat the whole purpose of the Wii. If you use a conventional controller than really don't you just have a more expensive Nintendo Gamecube? I see the Wii being a hit at parties, but looking less charming when you are alone with her.
  8. I haven't bought any Blu-Ray films as of yet, but I hope to purchase some in the New Year. I've been a bit naughty getting the PS3 as I'm supposed to be saving up for a wedding in May (if she left me would she get half my PS3 I wonder??) My issue with the cable was really due to the fact that here is a product that Sony is touting as the next level in gaming/movies and they package it with a cable that is non-HD. Seemed kind of lame to me that's all. But I will definately post an update on any new games I pick up. Lair is tops on my list as the next game I want.
  9. Just a quick update on the PS3 if anyone is interested. I got home, opened up the box and found the console itself to be smart looking. However, I was greatly disappointed to find that they supply you with a composite (A/V) cable instead of at the very least a component cable. I mean I did get the 60Gb PS3 so you're shelling out some serious cash so they could have thrown in a better cable. Even the Xbox 360 gives you a 2-in-1 component/composite cable. Secondly, the wireless controller needs charging via a USB cable connected from the controller to the front of the PS3 itself. Like the 360 plug 'n play charger, you can still play while having the USB cable attached but the problem is: 1) the PS3 needs to be kept on while the controller charges and 2) the USB cable is only 3ft long which is hardly long enough I found the menu system on the PS3 to be simplistic, yet very functional and easy to use. I bought Resistance: Fall of Man and am already hooked, but I'm not totally blown away cos of the crap cable they provided!
  10. I got my hands on a PS3 today at Wal-mart. Can't wait to play it tonight. Problem was I was so excited to get my hands on one that I forgot to buy a game with it..have to make another stop after work.
  11. Just looked up Okami on the net and realized that it's not out for you guys till Feb./07. Maybe it can be a Chinese New Year present to yourselves.
  12. Ok I was looking to see if there was a Wii thread and found this one buried. I just wanted to know if anybody has bought one or have tried it out. I've been hearing a lot of positive reviews on it. If anything I applaud Nintendo for creating a console that's different.
  13. Sadly the game is not on T.V. for me so I am sure it will be a fantastically scrappy hard fought game. If we can pull this one off then I will really feel that Hughes has his men in good physical shape especially after coming off a European win. Going to pull a Lawro and go for a 1-1 scoreline though.
  14. I hate to be one of those types that disses a topic for its utter uselessness, but who cares!?! He's gone to a weaker league and he will never get another chance in England again. I guess I feel strongly about this due to the fact that his impact here was marginal at best and the likes of Hakan Suker stand out more in my mind. I remember when Barry first came to Rovers that there were a lot of defenders of his name, but I think we can all agree that since then even though we have not found a true replacement for Tugay we are still better off. Ferguson is the type of player that makes me feel like he thought little of us but a cheap f**k. We offer more than that you know...we have personality!!
  15. I'm not quite sure what to believe at this point. I guess there is still hope that Rooney will be able to play in the World Cup in some way. I think though that if this happens it will have been all rushed and maybe it is in the teams best interest to give a committed "vote of confidence" to an alternate player right now. None of this "we'll play you until something possibly better comes along".
  16. A season in the premiership is a long one, so I am looking for that player that performs day in and day out. Nelsen for me has been the linchpin that held it all. He is just a solid, solid player. I think who you pick for player of the season rests on what you as a fan appreciates more and that's either the unglorified defender that quietly gets it done or that bit of flash that gives us those beer spilling, total euphoric moments. We talk of how Bellamy would be a prize selection for any team in the league but I wonder if most managers would rather have Nelsen playing for them. Neill has too many stupid moments for my liking and Reid doesn't impress me much at all. When are we having our most disappointing Rovers player poll? Can I just add Emerton to that right now?
  17. I am in a football pool over here and I never pick right on Middlesborough games. I find them to be one of the most inconsistent teams in the league. I haven't looked in depth at this but hasn't our disciplinary record been a bit better these last few games? Anyways I expect a flowing game with Rovers proving to be a tight cohesive unit. Shut-out can you say? 3-0 Rovers
  18. Honestly, if we had won more games I would have thought Henry and Poll were on our side. I think we as a collective can be very, very proud of what we have done. In some respects I would have been more upset if we lost to a proper team as that would have shown we are not of a certain quality. The fact that we have lost to a crap team just shows that our lack of depth made up susceptible to fatigue. I don't feel any particular shame or sadness over that. However I would like to think that Hughes would have have played that little bit of coverage that we do have this particular moment in time such as Gresko and Matteo. Now you might think that daft but others deserve a run if only to a) give those those played a bit of a rest and to: give that infectious quality of winning a chance to rub off on others otherwise you have to be proud as they have played with something superlative these past few games. I'll say this much, I wasn't around during the league winning year but I was witness to our 6th place finish during the 02/03 season. If and when we achieve higher than that this season I will count this as truly a team that did the most for the least.
  19. The game was on Pay Per View over here in Canada and I've just finished watching it as I knew it was being repeated. Now I didn't go onto this messageboard all day, nor did I find out the score beforehand. I didn't know what the line up would be, didn't know who the referee would be. First of all, when I saw that Graham Poll was officiating the match I grabbed for a beer (honestly). I'm not going to go and give my synopsis of the match but I wanted to say this point. When I saw Fletcher body check Tugay off the ball which lead to the eventual winner I thought but one thing "it was a foul". In fact I will go as far as to say that I was stunned that it wasn't called. Beer dribbled down my chin like milk from a stupid baby pulled from the tit. Now I don't profess to know as much about footy as you my fellow Englishmen. But I have watched enough matches in my life to know what is a foul. I thought for certain it was. Even if you argued that it might not have been a foul, you could always bank on the fact that a referee would always blow on his whistle anyways. I mean "when in doubt blow the whistle right???" It was a foul to me and I can't be argued off that. Now as soon as the match was over I went to this my favourite website and expected total anger over that one incident!! And instead I find that the players (namely Bentley and Kuqi) are being singled out! For the love of everything sacred people! I am proud of every single player out there. To me it was all about good vs. EVIL EVIL @#/? ****'s. I am less of a person tonight my friends. I felt passion like no other night and I am tired and cranky. I am proud of Rovers as the nearly won against everything put in their way.
  20. Unlike a lot of names that swing about David Dunn is still well short of 30. Unlike a lot of names we know what David Dunn would be like wearing a Rovers shirt. Do you believe in second chances? Well I do. I believe that a hard lesson learned deserves a chance to come home. It is home that he is coming back to. I mean he is no worse discispline wise than Bellamy and if Hughes and his coaching staff bring anything to the table than at the very least it's fitness training. What I am saying is this. David Dunn is going to play for a club that we all know is where his heart lies, and he is going to play under a regime that will test his biggest shortfall which is his fitness. I want to dust off my old Time shirt and wear Dunn again for Flintstone chewable sake!
  21. To hell with it, we beat United! I'll buy you a beer anytime.
  22. Apparently you are giving a "toss". It's odd that you should call me a misogynist when it was you that called a person of the gentler sex a "cow". Anyways, I'm off to chew some Skoal bandit and watch that there tractor pull. You are right about one thing though, I wouldn't dare say this to your face!! p.s. you're a pillowbiter
  23. That's odd as BBC America's British American Dictionary defines the word "cow" as: an offensive name for a woman Maybe Bryan is a "fag". Maybe Bryan should look up the American Heritage Dictionary definition of what that word means over here. At any rate, keep up the good work Mrs. American. I feel as though you provide an essential service in these gloomy times.
  24. Having never lived in in Blackburn (England for that matter) I have never learned to fully hate all of our cross town rivals. I hate to say that as a result I do not feel the same anomosity towards Bolton that a lot of other supporters do (well except for Camel Spit). I dare say even that I am actually a fan of Big Sam and actually like the guy. To go even further I won $400 on a bet when I picked Bolton to beat Chelsea a couple of seasons back. Yet through it all I know where my alligences lie and that is the blue and white. Bet this one won't even be that physical. Rovers 2 Reid MGP Bolton 0
