  1. Absolutely shocking and a continuation of the Charlton game. A bunch of nervous jittery players who can,t wait to get rid of the ball anywhere. For goodness sake Nonda & McCarthy watch the game and get onside. Looks like a drubbing in the second half unless we show some spirit and fight. Painful to watch no wonder the ground looks half empty.
  2. Don't agree with you there 1864, Tugay ran the show make no mistake. My man of the match and certainly that of the commentary team here on Fox. Pongol did absolutely nothing and offered nothing in my IMO. A championship team was written all over Sunderland they were woeful, but Rovers still looked fragile. A good 3 points to get some much needed confidence back.
  3. Superb result, watched the full match replay by video and it's the first time I have ever had to stop the tape after 70 odd minutes and find out the score on the Internet before I could continue watching. My nerves are shattered. A good positive performance we continued to press forward even when in front always looking for more goals which is the best form of defense! With a more potent attack United would have been looking at a cricket score based on that performance. Well done Rovers & Hughesy Mark that is.
  4. 2-1 Rovers. For any Aussiesou there, Rovers are on Fox sports after the Arsenal V W Ham game. I think it's 6am Western. Come on you blues.
  5. Seen the match fixtures on fox the other day six matches being televised and Newcastle Rovers was not one of them.
  6. Looking at the programming for Fox and it's not on. ESPN usually shows cup games but alas nothing.
  7. Totally agree there blue phil, if you want to attract that few thousand more that would have stayed home it's worth perservering with. I know my brother and his mate took their kids along because of the offer and I believe also went earlier in the season on a similar offer. My point besides inflating the gate in numbers & vocal support is the hope that one day in the future some of these kids will be season ticket holders and dragging their dads along. The only way to improve attendances besides winning games regularly is for some of the schemes being seen and improved on with a marketing style pricing. I do feel sorry for the season ticket holder who stumps up season in season out feeling aggrevied at discount pricing for these floating fans, but it is a must to get bums on seats and give Mark Hughes the support he deserves. Season ticket holders as we know are the back bone of this club as I used to be back in the seventies, but we must if we are to survive get those lost/floating fans back. Your Alan Shearers probably only come once in a life time so we must support Hughesy and back him to the hilt. Enough from me I'll get me coat as others put it better than I ever could. Come on you Blues the signs are positive the future Blue & White
  8. Superb result and as was said before when was the last time Rovers have come back from 2-0 down. Hughesy really has got some fire in the bellies? The Rovers of a season or so would have rolled over & died. 57% possession to the Rovers, but the same old Emerton relaced after a lacklustre performance according to sky sports. Rover V Arsenal next!
  9. Yes another Sat night in front of the box for Aussie viewers Wigan V Fulham, Chelski V Rovers then Middlesbrough V Man U. Starting 7.30 Western Fox Sports 2. If we take anything out of this game it will be a brilliant achievement I will settle for a point and finishing the game with 11 players on the pitch please!
  10. I can understand the rival banter and such, but I personally would have liked nothing better than to see England,Wales,Scotland,Northern Ireland & Ireland all qualify. Would have been fantastic for British & Irish football. My generosity also extends to local clubs would be great to have your Blackpools & Preston's up with us in the premier league. O.K everybody has there limits the generosity stops near turd moor.
  11. Dear oh Dear two bad sides unfortunately we were worse. You would think it was Rovers who were down to ten men. We are in big trouble make no mistake we have yet to play the top sides, a big rethink on our non existent strike force is needed Bellamy needs support. And Lucas Neil needs to start thinking seriously about his game because at the moment he is a liability. Only Man U next
  12. Having got up to watch the match in the wee hours, I personally thought it was a very poor match lacking any real quality. The point emphasised numerous times by the match commentators, the only exception being MGP. On the subject of discipline it's about time if it's not been done already for Hughesy to get a grip on our wayward tackling, knowing our already poor disciplinary record. You can't go in diving and sliding with two feet like a sunday pub team (sorry to any sunday players!) Neil fully deserved to go no question, who in my opinion has been putting in some quality performances of late. Todd what can you say, will get a ban absolutely stupid. When you look at the match as a whole I can't remember two goalkeepers having as little to do for a long time, and both sides inability to keep hold of the ball made the game IMO a scrappy affair. Having said all that I'll shoot it all in the foot by stating before the match I would have been happy with a point as I thought we would have been beaten. Last but not least can somebody please take a decent corner, how many went straight over everyone and out of play.
  13. According to the advertisement on fox at the weekend it is live at midnight eastern & 10pm for us in the wild west. Also showing Arsenal,Man yoo & wigan- chelsea. Better stock the beer fridge up James.
  14. 2-1 Rovers and live on fox sports in Aus. Bring it on!
  15. Robbie Slater has just given the boys in Melbourne a plug in his half time summary of the match on Fox Sports. Well done boys, hope there is something to shout about in the second half. Go you Blues!
