  1. Anybody see the quotes from Ronaldo this morning? Telling the press he only said it was a foul to the ref and never said it was a red card. Replays clearly show that the ref had signalled a free kick long before Ronaldo arrived on the scene. Then, seeing the ref had signalled the free kick, (which he continued to do so whilst Ronaldo was speaking) Ronaldo continues to speak in the referee's ear. Besides I thought that FIFA were clamping down on players trying to influence the referee's decision. The look on Rooney's face just before he pushes Ronaldo prooves for me that Ronaldo only wanted Rooney off. I know Rooney's sending off didn't cost us the result, but it's not what you do to a team mate and friend, Ronaldo deserves all he gets.
  2. Looking at a few of those other clips by the same bloke I've come to one conclusion. Kids in Portugal have too much time on their hands.
  3. The contract went to Setanta sports, who currently hold the rights to the SPL.
  4. When I registered I was in Bath, training to be a teacher. Now I'm in Cornwall. If I'd been in the bath for that long, I'd be all wrinkley!
  5. I could only listen to the game on the Radio. I was in digs at college and had just introduced my neighbour to the joy that is Blackburn Rovers. After every goal he'd arrive at my door with a "they've scored again?!?"
  6. I got the train into Cardiff from Bath. It was full of Spurs fans, with a small smattering of Roverites. These Spurs supporting lads saw my Rovers shirt and began chanting and joking showing their over confidence. Really loud they were. Not so loud on the way back though. And thus began my dislike of Spurs fans (although I'd prefer them to get 4th than Arsenal)
  7. Apparently, according to Jeff Stelling, it was HENRIK Pedersen who scored for us. Said it twice now.
  8. I just bought a child's home shirt with name and number (one number, 7 letters)on the back from the online shop. Came to just under £20 including postage. £20 is a small price to pay to indoctrinate the youth of Cornwall away from Man Utd and Chelsea to less of a girlie team.
  9. Is it just me, or does the yellow away look like a Spurs cast off?
  10. I'm going to vote... Home2 and I actually quite like the silver away. Something different, as yellow and red has been done before.
  11. Southampton end up selling Walcott for £10m. This money goes into paying the club's debts and possibly half into buying new players. Que exodus of senior players stating that Southampton are not ambitious enough, they languish in the Championship for several years before finally tumbling down the divisions. Would make me a happy man. Wupert "Trekkie" Lowe is a muppet.
  12. So does this mean if I choose to manage somebody like Torquay United (not particularly known for being giants of football) and select "sugar daddy" they'll end up with some oligarch who'll pump endless millions to make the Gulls Premiership Champions? Well that's realistic.
  13. Your opinion M-K and I appreciate that. Mine is, it's not crap, neither is Pro Evo... I just prefer Fifa.
  14. Or I could just play the game I prefer rather than shelling out for a new game and whatever a max drive is. Seriously, I have nothing against Pro Evo, just the people who think those who buy FIFA are somehow less intelligent or skilled.
  15. I think it's down to personal preference. I prefer Fifa simply because I've been playing the series since 1997, so I'm used to the controls. Also, I prefer real teams rather than "London Reds" or "Lancashire".. however, if you want to say it's because I'm not skilled enough to play Pro Evo, that's your narrow minded elitest perogotive. Rant over.
  16. I never got into Pro Evo. Borrowed PES3 of a mate, found all the controls to be completely different to what I was used to. I think my proudest Pro Evo moment was when my brother only beat me 6-1 rather than the usual 10-0. So I admit it, the only reason I dislike Pro Evo is because I'm crap at it.
  17. How about David Batty.. nothing could have been more apt. I always liked the Belgian international Goor, pronounced Whore... always made me chuckle.
  18. I just got FIFA06 and it took me a few games to get used to the tackling and how good the opo teams were. Then I discovered that I could play it on Amatuer level until I get the hang of it. Now I can actually score, although Kuqi is @#/? in the box. Look at some of the challenges you have to complete, the best one has to be "beat any 5 star team with any 1 star team" Torquay vs Arsenal anyone?
  19. No worries, I was just in a bad mood because I'd just seen the bookies list of favourites to get the Argyle job. John Bleddy Gregory!!! ARGH! Oh well, Rovers on the telly at the weekend brings out a smile. so, er. sorry 'bout that.
  20. Time is money, and I haven't got any, so can't afford 20 seconds. See, logic... that's the kind of thing Derbyshire thinks about when he's making intellectual passes.
  21. He does, he passes and muses about the hyperthetical theses of Kant acting upon the ball, then does lectures and seminars to tell others of his theories.
  22. Sorry, will endevour to plough through every post on the site for 7 hours to the detriment of any life in future, in the hope that I find a thread loosely based on my potential post. Or, just click here and read the Argyle fans' perspective of Derbyshire.
  23. Derbyshire was excellent last night. He set up Scott Taylor's goal, but generally made a nuisance of himself to the Crewe defence. With Plymouth playing a 4-3-3 formation, the strikers lined up with Nick Chadwick in the middle with Derbyshire and Taylor given lisence to roam around behind him. Derbyshire attacked mostly down the left, show fantastic dribbling skills to get past the two Crewe defenders sent to put him out of the game after Plymouth's equaliser. He had a few shots on goal, one an audacious strike from wide on the right which just went past the far post. The lad's doing brilliantly, and I for one, am glad he's in Devon where we South West Rovers can see him.
