  1. If Broughton thinks a 23 year old from an inferior league, having recently graduated from college football is likely to be an upgrade on (for example) Harry Leonard and is worth dragging halfway across the world then I would question his credentials to be the Director Of Football at our club.

Having assured us that a newly installed system would prevent another deadline day catastrophe, only for this to be seen to be patently untrue, then I again question his credentials to perform his role.

I can only conclude that the man is a complete moron. What other explanation can there be.

Is JDT becoming the convenient fall guy for another relegation that some running the club would be quite comfortable with ?

Could literally fill the squad with academy kids and loans then and the wage bill would be rock bottom, Riverside shut, training ground let go.  Reduction in income but massive reduction in running costs and easier to produce and punt on young players for champ clubs.

Not exactly saying it's pre planned but that it might not be a huge concern because some ie Waggot and that clown in the shadows might have a plan for.

    Food for thought.

I don't know if you know a little more than you are prepared to post on this issue Tomphil, and fair play if that's the case, but your post chimes exactly with something I was told on my way out of the Jack Walker Upper after today's game. The chap talking to me is a former long time employee of the club, and his story is identical to yours and was told to him by a club contact. In fact I have been for a meal with family tonight and recounted what I heard, only to arrive home just now and read your assertion. Food for thought indeed!

So it's confirmed ... I shall be joining you all at the Watford game at the invitation of my Rovers supporting friend ... my first visit for a game since 31st May 1988 against Crystal Palace ... 3-1 Rovers ( Howard Gayle 2, Simon Garner 1 ) ...

I bet you enjoyed your mate Simon's last minute goal 😉

Not that it matters massively but that is absolutely not a brick thrown at the bus:

Also, could the police not try and recover the object as it could have fingerprints and DNA on that a brick wouldn't.

Potentially  as many as six fingerprints on the recovered object,  so presumably more chance  of identifying the culprit.

  5. I would like to see:

                   Wahlstedt

    Brittain      Carter     Hyam      Pickering

    Rankin-Costello  Wharton   Buckley

    Hedges      Ennis       Smodzics

Gallagher to come on for Ennis late on if required.

If our manager could get a tune out of the three lads in the middle, we would have a midfield able to compete with the very best in the division.

Some great photos there - I love that one of Fred Pickering celebrating with the fans, I was behind the goals in both halves.

Greavsie fancied himself as dog whisperer. He also caught the one in the Brazil v England World Cup game in 1962 but the dog pissed on him !

Dogs running on was quite a frequent occurrence back then. When did we last a dog on the pitch at Ewood ? Four legged ones only.

Ah Pickering is the number 9. I couldn't just work out who that would be. He has exactly the same build and raw, powerful look as the young Shearer.

Those boys coming out onto the pitch, the excitement and sense of freedom. What a time that must be. Those you g fans would have been born in the late 40's,  early 50's.

    Just fantastic.

I think the App is now showing the countries, each game is available in. As luck would have it, I could get it in Spain last week, but have found the need to nip off elsewhere now and then.

It's ironic that this game is being played at the New York Stadium, as I shall be viewing proceedings in New York City!
