  1. I think Makelele just managed to block ref's view on Carvalho's shirt-pulling. Also the ref was pointing to a different spot for the freekick to be taken when Ballack didn't allow Savage to take it. And that's why he wasn't shown yellow card. Gutted!
  2. Just seen Finland's worst football game. Ever. 0-0 against Andorra. Shefki played the whole game and his performance can summarized in few words: When attitude is not enough. Again loads of hard work but many wasted chances. Worst on 10 minutes. Great cross, free chance to head at 8 meters. Result: ball out of sideline ie. ball headed 90 degrees wrong way. No going to put my trust in him anymore.
  3. Ban for Todd? Surely he didn't move away but it was van Persie who ran into him. He didn't raise his elbow - van Persie just happened to hit it. And after that his elbow rose.
  4. Nope. Once the goalie has taken hold of the ball it's deemed to be in his possession until he has either kicked or thrown it. And before that you can't take the ball from him.
  5. Still bloody angry with the result. However I'm thinking of changing my opinion on Diouf's dive. When I saw it live I thought: Oh no, a certain penalty. After some replays from different angles I got bloody angry with Diouf and also Mr. Bennett. Brad's hands didn't have any contact with Diouf and that was a blatant dive and should've been second yelllow card to Diouf. Today my friend pointed out that Brad surely didn't touch Diouf with his hands, but it's his leg which clips Diouf's calf. That would explain fumbly falling by Diouf. I've viewed the incident couple of times now and I think my mate might be right. If you just clip someone's foot who is in the air will surely lost his rhytm and in the penalty area that has to be considered as a tackle. I'd like to know what Bennett told Brad after he had blown his whistle.
  6. I think Mark Hughes has to teach to guys not defend like schoolboys. Did you count how many times we had 3 or more players just going for the ball leaving huge gaps all over the field. Way too many. You can't just blame the defenders for the goals when midfielders allow so much free space for your opposition. For example Anderton's goal. Yoi can't simple blame Johansson. If he was lucky he could have been where ball came. But he was left there with 3 Brum players. Where were Tugay/Ferguson? Nowhere near. As much as I've liked Tugay, it's time for him to get a place on the bench not on pitch. Some of you have also critized Nissa's passing abilities. Yes, he's not a great passer: especially his long passes are usually awful. But why on earth does he have to play like this (applies to all our defenders)? Because, they get no support from our midfield. The occasions when Tugay/Ferguson came to give them some other options for passes were limited. If our defenders have to be our playmakers with their limited abilities, no wonder why the opposition gets some much on the ball, which means goalscoring chances and eventually goals. I truly hope Hughes sorts out this defensive problem.
  7. Bothroyd losing his placing in the starting line-up to Ravanelli has also something to do with the fact that Perugia is Ravanelli's hometown club (or somethinh similar to that). Ravanelli is a hero for the club. You compare that to situation when young, well playing player of ours would find himself on the bench, because of Duff's return. I saw Bothroyd play in intertoto match between Allianssi (Vantaa, Finland) and Perugia 2 years ago. He seemed quite good, but nothing special. Based on what I've seen and read, I think the lad can do his job. At least I'm not going to slate from the very beginning.
  8. Still gutted about mr. Wiley's refereing. He was so biased even a friend of mine who supports no team didn't fail to notice it. Apart from the obvious handball, the tackle on Dickov just before Amo's sending off (which I think was a correct decision) and ManU players not receiving yellow cards, one thing struck to me time after time. ManU freekicks. They were allowed to deliver a freekick on a moving ball more than one occasion. Also mr. Wiley seems to give permission to deliver the freekick but not letting our players know it. Yesterday mr. Wiley was a total disgrace to his hobby and a caricature of integrity. And probably he won't know it himself. What a fabulous match anyway. Many great performances by our players (Yorke excluded). Satisfied with point as ManU had so many clear goalscoring opportunies. I hope FA will review mr. Wiley's totally biased refereing and the actions of both Ferguson and fourth official. And after that condemn them, if not straight to hell, at least to lower division for unforeseeable time.
