  1. 15 of us booked tickets last week for the friday night.
  2. the point was to see if i could get an idea about whereabouts rovers would stand in the seeding, and see if i could get a rough idea as to who we could potentially get in our group. As it turns out the 'fantasy group' i planned from my original prediction is still on the cards,so it served a purpose for me. i apologise for any distress it obviously caused you.
  3. nonsense.............. pot 1 Sevilla Newcastle United Schalke 04 Parma Ajax Bayer Leverkusen Feyenoord AJ Auxerre fact................ pot 1 Sevilla Newcastle United Panathinaikos Parma Ajax Bayer Leverkusen Feyenoord AJ Auxerre rovers in pot 4 aswell, who would have thought it!!!! scotty and aussieinuk,pm me your address and i'll send the humble pie over asap
  4. according to my (mis)calculations, should rovers progress tomorrow, these are the pots that the group stage will be drawn from, one team from each pot make up a group. ajax away please from the top one pot 1 Sevilla Newcastle United Schalke 04 Parma Ajax Bayer Leverkusen Feyenoord AJ Auxerre pot 2 Brugge basel Marseille hertha berlin Sparta Praha rangers Celta de Vigo Paris Saint-Germain pot 3 Lokomotiv Moscow RC Lens Besiktas Palermo Espanyol Heerenveen Partizan Belgrade Rapid Bucuresti pot 4 Slovan Liberec Fenerbahçe Austria Wien Hapoel Tel-Aviv Osasuna FC Lovech ROVERS Grasshoppers pot 5 Dinamo Bucuresti Livorno spurs Sporting Braga Eintracht Frankfurt Iraklis Thessaloniki Metalurg Zaporizhia Kayserispor *disclaimer-i'm crap at predictions.
  5. as with wilksy earlier on i'm not entirely sure if you're struggling to understand my posts or maybe you just have problems with your reading capabilities? my quote was that i doubt there is "a big difference" between the hourly rates of equivalent officers working for both forces,i stand by that quote. all my posts have revolved round the police hourly rates and not the total police bill, which has no relevance to the hourly rates, originally i merely quoted the hourly rates of officers that were used by the gmp to try and justify their extortionate police bill to wigan. in future i suggest reading the posts through properly before jumping in with both feet and making yourself look a bit silly. Mr trabb, kindly shut the ###### up. Thanks an interesting point put forward there, and so eloquently put. i think my work here is done
  6. as with wilksy earlier on i'm not entirely sure if you're struggling to understand my posts or maybe you just have problems with your reading capabilities? my quote was that i doubt there is "a big difference" between the hourly rates of equivalent officers working for both forces,i stand by that quote. all my posts have revolved round the police hourly rates and not the total police bill, which has no relevance to the hourly rates, originally i merely quoted the hourly rates of officers that were used by the gmp to try and justify their extortionate police bill to wigan. in future i suggest reading the posts through properly before jumping in with both feet and making yourself look a bit silly.
  7. Dave Whelan is quoted today as saying Wigan got charged around £45,000 for their policing of the Leeds game from GMP whereas Preston only got charged £7,500 off Lancashire Constab when they played Leeds. Not a big difference is there. But then again you only refer to Wigan when it suits your own agenda. as the police are a non-profit making organisation chances are they policed the preston game at a bigger loss to themselves. or are you trying to say a lancashire policeman earns only a fifth of his gmp counterpart for the same job
  8. now now mr wilks,no need to resort to expletives and insults,we're all adults here as for the gmp rates not being relevant to the lancs rates, are you saying there is a big difference between the 2? i very much doubt it.as i stated earlier your standard bobby was getting over £150 for a saturday match day on ewood, and that was over a decade ago, which is decent money, which was the original point that was being made. and for the record i am not and have never been banned. now, who's the mischief maker pm'ing me under the username seancurry, here was me thinking you had disappeared in the late 80's
  9. No i already knew that to be honest.
  10. considering a constable was earning over £150 a day(roughly 6 hours) for doing the football over a decade ago i'm presuming these hourly rates aren't far of the mark.Either that or dave whelan has a right to be upset at the massive profits the police are making on their policing prices! So you seriously think that your average everyday Joe Policeman i earning a salary of £85,000? I can only presume that you are either stupid, ignorant, or a combination of both. The highest constable salary under Lancashire Police is about £29k and thats after 14 years. Starting rate is £18k. And based on a £150 per day, on a 5 day week equates to a salary of £39k - once again you are talking crap. oh dear me,not sure if you're just plain stupid or didn't read/understand the post, those rates are for football overtime which probably equates to them doing 6 or so hours every fortnight at that rate, not 5 days a week! hence why we were saying they were 'milking' the football as opposed to earning their standard daily rate. thought it was blindingly obvious that we were discussing match day rates(with it being a post about policing football on a football message board!)seemingly not obvious enough for some do us a favour next time and engage brain before proceeding to put your foot firmly in your mouth.
  11. am i right in thinking you witnessed the postal order incident then? considering a constable was earning over £150 a day(roughly 6 hours) for doing the football over a decade ago i'm presuming these hourly rates aren't far of the mark.Either that or dave whelan has a right to be upset at the massive profits the police are making on their policing prices!
  12. and who can blame them for milking it with hourly rates like this plus the possibility of seeing a free game of footy and with a bit of luck the chance to clout someone with a stick without fear of reprisals. Chief Inspector £61.08 per hour Inspectors £55.98 per hour Sergeants £55.98 per hour Constables £46.23 per hour Mounted Constables £75.05 per hour Dog Handler Constables £65.81 per hour can anyone point me in the direction of a good horse riding school
  13. Havent you got something else to be doing instead of lowering the tone on here ? do i know you?
  14. Have you got a link Waggy? nothing been in the press, possibility of something after next monday. 6 year ground bans for the custodial sentences,3 year bans for the rest. the fines and sentences were way over the top for the charge, same offence on a friday night in town and you wouldn't get anywhere near. hanging, beheading or public stoning i say, thought i'd get that in to save you all the trouble.
  15. a lot of replies on this subject for someone who doesn't care i sleep ok thanks,it's of no consequence to me if these people are banned or not,i was just putting forward my opinion of what i have seen of the "evidence".
  16. yes of course,i'll post them all up,after all it's only being used as "evidence" in forthcoming court cases
  17. thats where we differ though,i have seen the video which has been issued to all the people that are charged with the banning orders, wheras you don't know any facts behind the case as a whole or any of the individual cases. the "incidents" that i mention are in the video,100% fact. i've also read several of the individual reports that have been given to the people involved, which is basically more of the same which is in the video ie. nothing. i tend not to give views on subjects that i don't know any of the facts behind, maybe others would do well to do the same.
  18. as it happens i have seen the "evidence" video and would defend the people involved on the strength of what i've seen. a 1 hour 10 minute long video, the culmination of over 6 years constant filming and there is absolutley nothing on it that would convict anyone on it of a criminal offence, highlights include 3 men eating a burger/kebab each outside pyramids kebab house on darwen st. on a saturday afternoon(although they should be arrested for eating kebabs sober in daylight hours ),a near 5 minute clip of 4 men playing doubles at pool in the griffin pub.i kid you not, this is the official police video,as for the rest of it,3 men walking into pub,4 men drinking together in pub etc etc etc etc etc. it's certainly no football factory
  19. for the record, none of the bans are for criminal offences,it's a civil case thats been brought by the police. so in over 5 years of investigation while spending x amount the police have failed to get anybody banned for a criminal offence. so strictly speaking none of the people up have done anything wrong. discuss.
  20. cheers glenn, appears to be working with pearse as the destination,23.20 being the last one,so thats spot on. managed to find a hostel for £22 a man in the centre with our own room, don't mind slumming it seeing as it's basically only being used to store the toothbrushes.
  21. anybody have any links for a cheap hotel thats still available in or reasonably near the city centre? a couple of twin rooms or a quad, any help much appreciated. and also,is it me or is there no rail transport available back from bray to dublin on the day of the game, thats how it seems on www.irishrail.ie
  22. bit more info, rovers are also in a 14 team tournament playing 2 games @ 25mins each way, think they play those on the wednesday and friday but not 100%. think boblingen are in the 3rd div aswell,
