  1. watched the game live on tv here in ankara. except for the defence, only MGP looked giving himself to the game even savage, for me, had a poor day (i know what he is capable of) replay will be much easier for us BUT with mark hughes, i don't think anything is waiting for us except for a relegation battle as long as he stays and, with this kind of performance, we'll have to pray before and after every game not to get relegated. any team in the premiership could have beaten us easily today we have to thank burnley for being worse than us.
  2. ok, got the game live on turkish tv!!! despite gencler has a huge home game, i'll be staying at home to watch burnley vs blackburn. hope the best for all. i wish everyone who goes to the dingledome a safe and happy journey. once a rover, always a rover!
  3. there's a new cable tv channel here in turkey which broadcasts the cup matches live. i got in touch and told them the most important game this round is bumley vs blackburn let's see if i can (alone) persuade a national tv channel to get our game live on cable. i told that this game can easily be compared to real vs barca or fenerbahce vs galatasaray. ok, these banana-eaters are no match, but i still would like to see live on tv what is to be our last match for the forthcoming 20 centuries (yes, not years but centuries). of course, if they still exist after so much time... we shall conqueur!
  4. we're doing no good no relegation threat but best possibility is a mid-table finish... 3rd coach in the season already since our coach left for the national team at the end of last season the new coach is really giving us hope. got 8 new players (2 of which we all hate) in january things will get better we all hope...both for blackburn and gencler. anyway, the time has come to visit the dingle dome been some time since the last visit i am really happy about the match. finally we all will have something to cheer about this season!!!
  5. i'd give it all to be there but absolutely impossible... so, just would like to say been there, "done that"! wish you the best in the game. best wishes from ankara! once a rover, always a rover!
  6. @Ricky : Can't give you any links, but will check the shop at the club. I promised a number of gencler shirts to the rovers, but i lived through terrible times financially in the last 8 months. finally they are over... @oklahoma : it was definitely a wonderful performance at jose alvelade! i plan to go to a rovers game (maybe a couple) early next season. i will save some money for that, hope to meet you there, 'cause i really had a great time in blackburn and i love all the rovers... and guys, we did qualify for the uefa cup again. but we have a weakened team this year unfortunately... hope we play an english team in the first round, as i don't think we'll last long in the cup this year.
  7. don't forget... david elleray is an english referee and itv is an english tv can he say anything else, even if he thought the opposite?
  8. @oklahoma i have last year's home shirt (rovers) which i took from the rovers' when they came to ankara to play genclerbirligi (my team). whenever i wore it, something bad happened... last time i wore it was the france game. 2 goals at the end of the match... i am really afraid to wear it anymore. waiting for the new home kit. i think last year's kit was doomed... lucky you! hope some day, Turkey will organize a major tournament... or we all meet in germany 2006 hehehe
  9. oklahoma, personally i must confess i am satisfied with the way both greece and latvia played. this is the best way they both can play... they get just a couple of chances in a game and score... what else can you want from your team... both had a high scoring percentage heheheh and after england is out, i'd really like to see sweden, denmark or czech republic to win the cup... but sorry, not portugal not that they knocked england out. but i don't fancy any hosts after france 98 good luck, but portugal definitely need to perform more...
  10. great to see you're now handling the situation better... think about the french! they can't (even) blame the referee!!! yesss...the french are out. couldn't be happier with the score hehehhe... my only concern about this whole tournament is that defensive football is making progress. look at greece and latvia... wonder what the future holds for us... hope sweden wins tomorrow...
  11. Hey! The season went no good. Lost yet again in the Turkish cup final. Lost the coach to the national team. Brought back the coach we sacked 2 years before because he was "buying" and "selling" games. Lost many players. Brought no replacements. Can it be worse??? I am looking after all my blackburn shirts. I'm wearing them with pride! Because I'm proud to be a Rover! Anyway... Got one more thing to add. Name me any other nation who loves football more! In every game, there are english flags flying with pride. (I know there are at least four brfcs.com flags) Come on guys. cheer up! They blame all of us being hooligans, but who loves football more? We're in every single game, cheering up just for football! So, the world now knows the TRUTH! Best wishes to all of you...
  12. Guys guys guys guys... I really think you should all calm down and relax. It's been some time since England performed so good in any major tournament! You should all be proud with your team. Please remember. You should not judge a match by a single moment... If you want to do it, with the referees decision, remember these... - Rooney's unlucky exit. - Owen's shot saved by Ricardo - (and the most important one for me) Terry's not jumping for a cross for just once in the whole game. I can assure you. England can only get better. I've been watching football in the last 22 years, following England since '86, and it is the first time i can say that, england "is" getting better. Urs Meier...I mean come on, name me a single referee who can give that goal, at that minute of the game, in a major championship, against the hosts. Let me tell you; only Pierluigi Collina. He's the one who can (even) "decide" against the hosts in any game... And to be honest, i really think you're over-reacting. Please take a break and remember Euro 96. Spain playing against England...I think it was either the second half of the extra time or the 90th minute...I am not sure which player it was, but the assistent referee stopped the game for absolutely no reason. There were 3 spanish players on the break, no offside or foul whatsoever, and only Seaman to beat. These things happen in football, and this time it was agaist us. Yes, us is what i say because despite being Turkish and going out against England, I always follow England. I am proud of the way they performed. So should you be... Greetings to all from Ankara... Hope to be back soon. Orcan "Once a Rover, always a Rover"
