  1. :rover: after living in blackburn and the surrounding areas for nearly 50 yrs tuesday was my first visit to blackburn cathedral.always wanted to go and this was a special occasion,we waited for the coffin to enter the cathedral before finding a seat.we were seated in the overflow on the wings of the cathedral, not the best seats, you could not see the speakers or most of the people present, but i was part of ronnies final appearence.on the 3rd hymn the guy in front of us started to sway and fro.luckily we managed to get him to the floor before he hurt himself, and more medically minded people took over from us,it was the poor guy who suffered a fit/stroke.from then on the service was a blur,i was in a bit of a state really, hopefully the guy will be ok.

all in all ronnie got a fantastic send off, from the people of blackburn RIP :brfc:

  2. :rover: one of the 1st games i went to at ewood was to ronnie's and dougie's joint testimonial versus a england x1 if i remenber rightly.ronnie was a real football man and the world is a worse place today without him,RIP :brfc:
  3. I'm not around for the home game, Cyprus booked many moons ago, but I'd certainly be in the darwen end for this one and not because I'm considering a 1 man assault over no mans land into the burnley fans.

****I recall being told a story about a lad that used to drink in the Clifton arms and later worked in the Jubilee that jumped the fence in the corner of the riverside late 70’s, he ran alone into the burnley fans in the darwen end, they backed off, must have thought he was carrying a grenade! Then he was saved by the police, fined and they had a whip round in the pub to pay his fine****

The atmosphere in the darwen end section for this game will be excellent and I’d give up my season ticket and buy a darwen end ticket just to be close to the away fans.

I wonder how many more would do the same, in fact I’m now canceling the holiday to Cyprus, Debs calling the travel agent!

i would think any season ticket holder giving his ticket up to get one in the darwen end is playing a dangerous game, any trouble and the police will consider it planned

  4. No it`s not. It will be well policed & stewarded with a larger than normal no-mans land.......& remember EVERY person in the Darwen End will be a season ticket holder from either club or will have been vetted. I`d hazard a guess that CCTV & highly preventative policing will be used to its full extent.

Yes, it will be lively & extremely vocal & 1 or 2 numpties might try it on, but it won`t be a disaster.

They`ve done it for years in Manchester, Glasgow, Sheffield, London etc....

    You`re just scaremongering Waggy

 why will the rovers fans be season ticket holders, its one of the 4 games ;)

  5. went to the world cup in italy 1990,was in a prison camp called sardinia, the locals were very wary off the english fans, and if you were not a millionaire sardinia is no fun. sir bobby robson heard that the english fans were restless and i would say was one of the 1st england managers to open a trianing session to the fans.he did not invite the fans to the england camp but brought the team to a ramshackle pitch near the fans,GOD BLESS YOU BOBBY

  6. :rover: been a great signing, starred in the euro's at centre back and was shoved to right back at ewood, still he played his games never moaned and give us great service, remenber when i was in the lower jw,he was out injured and was in a box behind us which the players used/tv use he was going mad when we scored and at full time. shames plenty of the other players who used to frequent that box :brfcsmilie:
  7. Just how ironic was it that a fine player like Diver Dogbreath is shouting down the microphone "its a disgrace, its an effing disgrace".

Dogbreath, a fine player youmay be but in simple mans terms

    YOU ARE A CHEAT

You cheated your own fans by feigning injury and then whining like a child losing its dummy when you were subbed.

    You cheated yourself.

You cheated the club by diving and falling over every time a Barca player came near you.

It is YOU that is the disgrace.

It matters not that the ref was a clown in denying at least 2 blatant penalties, you missed the easiest chances in the two legs, one at the Nou Camp and one last night.

There is NO conspiracy theory. Barca lost a man sent off when he shouldnt have been, Essien should have been red carded. PLUS after all that if your defence had cleared the ball properly Barca would never have had the chance to score.

To see your pug ugly mush bellowing the spiteful abuse just made every football fan smile last night. Your childish and cheating antics COST YOUR CLUB, YOU and YOU ONLY.

:rover: and you would welcome him here with open arms :brfcsmilie:

  8. Waggy you should have been at Rovers last night to listen to Sam Allardyce, Svens been very fortunate in is career and ended up in the glamour lights. Lats night Big Sam came across as twice the man Sven is in all shapes and forms of football.

Big Sam has vision, energy and hunger to do well his light is still burning, unlike Svens, his light went out a long time ago.

:rover: i'd rather have red hot pokers stuck in my eyes than listen to that w-nk-r :brfcsmilie:

  9. Dunno. But he has a bloody sight better chance that Ince of KEEPING us there.

btw I've already requested that you stop using those smilies now that you are so anti BRFC. Only they simply don't fit with the content and manner of your posts anymore.

:rover: i ain't anti brfc, just anti bfs, just like you were anti ince :brfcsmilie:
