Philip, Apart from providing cash ( which increases the debt ) what other actions make them model owners ?

    They don't attend matches.

They don't communicate with the fans.

They waste the manager's time by making him fly to India mid-season.

They don't seem to show any interest at all.

Seriously, why do you think they are now model owners ?

    And.......

    Decision making appears damagingly slow.

The Ewood executives appear to have little if any power.

What was the turning point two years ago?

Aye they'll be having palpitations as it is at the prospect of nearly 20,000 turning up. Expect a story in the Telegraph offering advice on what to do on the big day etc. Any more than that an Caley and co. will need time off with stress.

Absolutely no appetite at Ewood even from the bean counters to see 25,000+ on or even try and get to it. If PNE were to bring 7000 that would mean we'd need to get an extra 5000 or so home fans on. A challenge but priced well and promoted as Derby day and it is something to aim for and would be a brilliant atmosphere if we got close.

They know PNE will bring a minimum of 5000 for the annual family day out whatever the price so maximising income from those will be the priority. Not really bothered about filling the home ends. A extra few thousand on the home gate would require effort, cheaper tickets and aggravation for those who just don't want it.

What does Caley do for his salary, apart from netting off seats?

    Heard a tale today.

Our commercial manager has gone to Blackpool, as they offered to double the pittance he was on here.

He wrote a letter to Waggott outlining how  gutted he was having to leave the club he supports, Waggott laughed and ripped it up in front of him...

    Sarcasm?

Anywho... 22,000. That would be a fantastic total for a January fixture, and our highest Championship gate since Boro (Christmas 2014).

A £10 PNE ticket would I suspect bring about a similar gate to the Oxford game. (27k)

Conversely, if it did nothing for the gate then it would prove Waggott right and we could have no further complaint about £40 tickets. (Although we all know that the sole purpose of that was/is to sell bundles/STs).

    But bundles don't work

Tickets were never going to sell well for Saturday. Clearly the 3 game deal has not sold well. A rethink for the Leeds match could be on the cards but they are going to bring 7k.

Does anyone know if we count people through the turnstiles or tickets sold ?  Did they rain combined with the price put anyone off.

    Yes it was the rain.

My best guess would be they don't want to lose face by cutting their losses. They don't use Rovers to advertise their brand, and there's no glamour in owning an ailing, lower-league side that's losing money hand over fist. They're happy for us to plod along as long as the manager flies out to Pune every now and again to bow and scrape.

    Bizarre isn't it

We did nothing last January when a few astute additions might have maintained momentum. In the end we had a predictable defensive crisis and plummeted down the table. Apparently it isnt a good time to do business.

Expectations of using this January to sign players we need? None

    Defenders are coming!

On short reflection. Yesterday was a nightmare.

The best thing would have been for England to win the rugby World cup and Rovers to have got battered with Mowbray a dead man walking.

Instead, England rugby moves into crybaby football territory with what will now be at least 20 years of hurt (2023 WC) and Rovers continue in the never ending abyss of unstable stability with an occasional false dawn.

Are we already living in Hell? ?

    My thoughts exactly

This is still what I don't get. However blingingly rich you are, why keep pumping good rupee after bad into a dirty great black hole you have absolutely no interest in?

It's a mystery. Meanwhile the weeds grow unabated in front of the JW stand.

Hopefully that’s a big three points that will help to keep us clear of relegation.

It shows what a poor league it is when we can have a run of one win in seven and still be 16th. Just need to keep ourselves clear of the bottom pack and tread on for another season.

    Great
